Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To play multiple music videos in one continuous YouTube live stream, line up the clips in a playback workflow that advances between them, send that program to YouTube through an encoder, then check the feed in YouTube Live Control Room. The stream can run from a computer, a cloud service, or dedicated hardware. Before you build the playlist, make sure you have the rights to stream every video and its music on YouTube.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible to stream: YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. The person streaming must be at least 16. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance has the current requirements.
- Streaming rights for every clip and track: A video file, online track, or personal music subscription does not automatically grant permission to broadcast it. Confirm that your permissions cover YouTube live streaming, the intended territories, and the intended duration.
- A continuous playback and encoder setup: The playback workflow must advance through your chosen clips, while an encoder sends the resulting video and audio to YouTube. You can use computer software, a cloud service, or purpose-built hardware.
- A stable connection and time to monitor: The encoder must stay connected for the broadcast, and someone should check the picture and sound in Live Control Room.
YouTube allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 per stream key; these are platform limits, not targets for a single playlist. Confirm the current setup rules in YouTube’s live-stream setup guide.
Choose how the videos will play
There is no single playlist-loop procedure that applies to every encoder. The playback controls—ordering, transitions, looping, and recovery—depend on the software, service, or hardware you choose. Check its current setup documentation and test the full sequence before broadcasting.
| Route | What YouTube’s official directory says | Questions to check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Local software encoder | YouTube lists OBS as free, open-source streaming software. Its directory does not establish a specific native multi-video automation workflow for this use case. | Can your playback setup advance through the clips and loop as intended? Can the computer stay awake, powered, and connected? What will you do if playback or the stream stops? |
| Cloud service | YouTube describes Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 streaming of pre-recorded video without a dedicated PC. | Does the current service support your playlist, stream length, resolution, and recovery needs? Check its current terms and pricing directly. |
| Dedicated hardware | YouTube describes AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream as scheduling pre-recorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. | Does the current product accept your files and schedule? Is the equipment cost justified for your use? |
These descriptions are examples from YouTube’s verified encoder directory, not a comparative reliability or value assessment. YouTube also says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started; choose a route based on the automation and monitoring you actually need.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up the continuous live stream
- Clear the rights for every video and track. Get permission from the relevant rights holders for the intended YouTube broadcast, territories, and duration. If the material is licensed and subject to Content ID, ask the owner to allowlist your channel before you stream.
- Enable live streaming in advance. Verify your channel and check its eligibility in YouTube Studio. If this is your first live stream, allow time for activation; YouTube says it can take up to 24 hours.
- Build the program in your chosen playback setup. Put the clips in the intended order and configure the player or service to advance and loop if you want the program to repeat. Check how it handles clip transitions, audio levels, and a missing or unsupported file. For specific playlist controls, use that product’s current instructions; YouTube does not prescribe one universal playlist workflow.
- Create or select an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room, choose encoder streaming, and create or select the stream. If your encoder does not offer a YouTube preset, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not control the stream. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Send the program and check the preview. Start the encoder or cloud/hardware workflow and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Before making the event public, verify that the right video and audio are coming through and that the stream is accessible from the intended watch page.
- Monitor the live broadcast. Check picture, sound, and clip changes throughout the stream. YouTube recommends continuously monitoring audio and video; an unattended playlist does not remove the need to respond to a stream or rights warning.
- Stop in the right order. End the event in YouTube, then stop the encoder according to your chosen workflow. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not promise automatic archiving for streams of 12 hours or longer. Check the current encoder guidance when planning a longer broadcast.
Prevent copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it identifies a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material. If the material remains, the broadcast can be interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a live stream.
A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption: for Content ID material, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its allowlist. A claim may also appear on an archived stream after the live broadcast ends. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions, which make the provider responsible for obtaining the necessary rights, including music licensing rights.

- Do not assume that owning a video file gives you live-streaming rights to its music.
- Do not assume that a track found online or a personal subscription includes permission to broadcast it.
- Check rights for the actual content, territories, and use; requirements can vary. Ask the relevant rights holders or a qualified adviser if your permissions are unclear.
Test before the public broadcast
Run an unlisted test to catch problems with clip order, audio, and stream stability. In Live Control Room, check the preview and confirm that the event is visible from the relevant channel or watch page; if practical, verify playback on a mobile device as well. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend preparing the encoder in advance and monitoring the broadcast.
- Confirm the first clip starts correctly and the transition to each next clip works.
- Listen for missing, unexpectedly quiet, or distorted audio.
- Verify that your encoder or service remains connected during the test.
- Check that the intended event is accessible to viewers, not just visible in your encoder.
- Keep a way to stop the event or respond to a YouTube warning.
Common problems and what to check
- No preview in Live Control Room: Check that the encoder is running, the correct stream URL and key are entered, and the selected event matches the stream. If live streaming was just enabled, activation may still be pending.
- A clip does not advance or the playlist stops: Check the playback tool’s playlist order, loop settings, and handling of unsupported or missing files. The exact controls vary by product.
- Viewers hear no audio or the sound changes between clips: Check the playback output and the audio sent by the encoder during a test. Monitor the feed itself rather than relying only on local playback.
- YouTube warns about copyrighted material or interrupts the stream: Stop using the flagged material and resolve the rights issue. If you hold a license, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting; a license alone may not prevent interruption.
- The stream ends when you leave: A local software workflow depends on the computer and connection staying active. For unattended operation, consider a cloud service or scheduled hardware workflow, and confirm its current recovery behavior before relying on it.
- No archive appears after a long stream: YouTube’s encoder guidance specifies automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee for longer streams.
