If you mean YouTube Premium, you can pay with UPI when it is offered in the Google Play checkout for your account in India. For a recurring subscription, you may need to approve a UPI AutoPay mandate. A YouTube channel’s 24/7 livestream is not itself a YouTube billing product: a paid channel membership is separate, and you should rely on the payment methods shown when you select Join.
First, identify what you are paying for
“YouTube 24/7 streaming service” can mean different things. YouTube Premium is a subscription for YouTube benefits; it does not buy access to a particular livestream. A paid channel membership is a separate monthly purchase that provides perks from one specific channel. If you want to support or unlock perks from a channel that runs a continuous stream, use that channel’s Join option and check its price, renewal terms, and available payment methods.
The UPI instructions below are for YouTube Premium billed through Google Play in India. Payment options depend on country and billing platform, so the checkout shown for your Google account is decisive. Google Play says UPI is supported for eligible app subscriptions in India, and YouTube Premium is among the subscription examples described in Google’s UPI AutoPay guidance (Google Play payment methods in India; Google India Blog, 15 November 2022).
Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI
- Sign in to the right Google account. Use the account that should own the subscription. Check that its country and payment profile are India; available payment methods vary by country and billing platform.
- Open YouTube Premium and choose an available offer. Select a plan displayed for your account. There is no single price established here for every plan and billing context, so check the amount shown before you continue.
- Check the checkout method. If the Google Play checkout offers UPI, select Pay with UPI, choose a supported UPI app, and approve the displayed request there. Google’s published setup instruction is: “After selecting a subscription plan for purchase, simply tap on the payment method in the cart, select ‘Pay with UPI’, and then approve the purchase in your supported UPI app.”
- Review any AutoPay mandate. Before approving, check the amount, frequency, and duration. AutoPay authorizes scheduled recurring payments; it is not a one-time payment. You must approve the initial purchase and mandate, while later scheduled debits do not require authentication each time under the mandate terms.
- Confirm the subscription. Return to YouTube and check Purchases and memberships or Paid memberships for the active membership, payment method, and next billing date.
Google Play has also listed cards and Google Play balance among India payment categories; RuPay cards are described for one-time purchases only. Google says netbanking was discontinued as a Google Play payment method from October 2025 until further notice. These options can change, so use the methods actually displayed in your checkout rather than assuming a method is available.

Use UPI for a channel membership only if checkout offers it
On the channel whose perks you want, select Join and inspect the membership price, renewal details, and payment methods before confirming. Channel memberships renew monthly, with charges at the start of each billing cycle. The available sources do not establish that UPI is offered for every channel membership checkout; proceed with UPI only if it appears as an option for your purchase. India recurring payments may also require eMandate verification.
Why UPI may not appear or a recurring payment may fail
- The subscription is billed on a different platform: YouTube Premium and Music Premium subscriptions started on Android have been billed through Google Play since 2022. Check the membership details or payment records to identify the billing platform, since payment options differ by platform (YouTube Premium billing and membership details).
- Your account or checkout is not eligible for UPI: Verify the country and payment profile, then check the options offered in the actual checkout. UPI support for Google Play subscriptions does not mean every account or transaction will show it.
- The AutoPay mandate cannot be approved: Confirm that your UPI app and bank support the mandate flow, and review the approval request in the app. Google Play requires an eligible UPI AutoPay mandate and a supported UPI app.
- YouTube requests payment verification: Follow prompts to verify or re-enter payment details. YouTube says recurring charges in India can require verification under RBI eMandate requirements; a bank may not support recurring charges (YouTube payment verification help).
- A later debit is declined or the subscription stops: Check the membership’s billing platform and status, bank support, and any verification request. If UPI is unavailable or cannot be approved, choose another payment method only from those displayed at checkout.
UPI can run around the clock, but checkout is account-specific
NPCI describes UPI payments as instant and available 24/7 (NPCI UPI FAQs). That general availability does not guarantee that a particular YouTube checkout, bank, UPI app, or recurring mandate will be available or succeed at every hour. Google Play’s India help page is the best place to check current accepted methods, and your checkout confirms which ones apply to your account.
