You can request a personalized Cameo video on the app or website: choose a creator, select Book a personal video, fill in the recipient and occasion, then review the full checkout total before paying. Prices and delivery options vary by creator, and what happens if a request is not fulfilled depends on whether you ordered through iOS, Android, or the website.
What you are buying—and which Cameo option to choose
A standard personal Cameo is a video request for an individual or private occasion. It is not a live call, a guaranteed conversation, or a promise that the creator will deliver a word-for-word script. Cameo says creators have discretion over how they fulfill requests and may not follow every instruction exactly (Cameo refund policy).

- Personal video: For a greeting, birthday, wedding, congratulations, roast, pep talk, or another personal message.
- Business video: For company promotion, advertising, an endorsement, or other commercial use. Cameo directs commercial buyers to the business option rather than a personal booking (Cameo booking instructions).
- Cameo Direct: A paid message product, not the same as booking a personalized video.
- Expedited or instant delivery: Available only for participating creators and only when the profile offers it.
- Gift card: A way to give Cameo credit so someone else can choose a creator; it is not a general-purpose payment card.
Choose a creator before committing to a date
Open the creator’s profile and check that personal-video requests are available. Compare the displayed price, stated delivery choices, and any samples or reviews shown. Make sure the creator is a fit for the occasion and that your request does not conflict with the creator’s guidelines.
For a date-specific gift, leave room for a decline or delay. Cameo says creators generally have up to seven days to fulfill or decline a request, although the applicable window can vary and its policy allows longer periods at its discretion. Some participating creators offer a 24-hour option; it is not universal (Cameo refund policy; U.S. App Store listing).

How to book and pay for a personal video
You can make a personal-video request through Cameo’s app or website. Cameo documents the profile control as Book a personal video; labels and screens may vary as the app changes (Cameo booking instructions).
- Open the Cameo app or visit Cameo.com, then sign in or create an account.
- Search for the celebrity or creator and open the profile.
- Check the personal-video price, availability, and delivery options shown for that creator.
- Select Book a personal video.
- Complete the request form with the recipient, occasion, and relevant details. Choose any offered delivery or customization options.
- Review the order summary, add-ons, currency, and total due before confirming.
- Submit payment through the checkout method presented, then keep the confirmation and order details.
How much does a Cameo cost?
There is no single Cameo price: creators set their own booking prices. The profile amount is not necessarily the checkout total. Cameo’s terms allow additional service, transaction, processing, and tax charges, as well as optional products or services such as expedited delivery, additional characters, or cards. Any applicable charges should be visible in the order flow before you confirm. Transactions are generally settled in U.S. dollars, though the currency can vary by platform and location (Cameo Terms of Service).
Compare the final checkout total if you are choosing between app and website. Do not assume either route is always cheaper: prices, fees, promotions, and platform payment handling may differ.

What to write in the request
Give the creator enough context to make the message personal without turning the form into a long script. Useful details include:
- The recipient’s name, with a phonetic spelling if pronunciation may be unclear.
- The occasion and its date, plus your relationship to the recipient.
- A few relevant interests, achievements, teams, shows, or shared references.
- The tone you want, such as sincere, funny, motivational, celebratory, or roast-style.
- Specific talking points and any topics or jokes to avoid.
Share only information needed for the message. A concise, clear request can guide the creator, but it does not make the performance a guaranteed script reading.
Which payment method is used?
Cameo’s terms describe payment by valid payment card through the applicable payment provider. In its mobile apps, payment uses Apple’s or Google’s in-app payment mechanism; on the website, Cameo uses its selected payment provider. Available card networks and payment buttons can depend on the checkout. Do not count on Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, a particular card network, or buy-now-pay-later unless it is explicitly offered on your screen (Cameo Terms of Service).

A declined payment can lead Cameo to cancel the request. Check the order total and payment details at checkout, and retain the receipt or confirmation email.
When are you charged, and what if the request fails?
Charge and refund handling depends on where you bought the video. Cameo’s current refund policy describes these differences (Cameo refund policy):

A website transaction marked pending may be an authorization rather than a completed charge. If you see an unexpected payment status, check the order and your bank’s transaction detail before treating a pending hold as a duplicate final payment.

Refunds, cancellations, and disappointing videos
Completed personalized Cameo transactions are generally not refundable, exchangeable, or returnable. Failed fulfillment has different remedies by purchase route, as shown above; a declined card or an improper request may also affect the outcome. Requests that violate Cameo’s terms, community rules, or applicable Apple or Google policies may not qualify for a refund or credit (Cameo refund policy).
If a creator has not delivered, check the order status and confirmation email first. Confirm whether the request was declined or canceled, or whether it is still within its delivery window. Then check whether the expected remedy is credit, a refund, or release of a pending hold. For an iOS purchase where you want money returned rather than Cameo credit, use Apple’s refund process. Contact Cameo support if the expected credit or refund does not appear after the applicable processing period.
If the video is completed but contains a mistake or disappoints you, contact Cameo support promptly if it appears materially defective or inconsistent with the order. The general nonrefundable policy means a refund or redo is not assured.

Using a Cameo gift card or credit
A Cameo gift card is redeemed for Cameo credit, rather than used like a debit card at checkout. Redemption is currently limited to individuals in the United States using a U.S.-based payment method. The credit can be applied to a later eligible Cameo purchase; if the total exceeds the balance, another payment method is needed for the difference. Cameo says redeemed gift credit does not expire and that the balance appears in the account section of its app or website. Gift credit cannot pay for changes to existing orders (Cameo gift-card redemption).
Gift cards are distinct from credit issued after an unsuccessful order and from a bank-card payment. Cameo’s terms exclude some uses, including tips, subscriptions, political Cameo products, and another gift card; cards are not reloadable and may be refused if invalid or otherwise problematic (Cameo Terms of Service).
After you submit the request
Keep the confirmation email, order status, event date, payment receipt, and any refund or credit notice together. When the video is ready, Cameo says it sends it to the buyer; its consumer materials describe delivery through email and the app (U.S. App Store listing). Do not assume a particular downloadable format, permanent availability, or commercial reuse rights unless the current order terms expressly provide them.

Common booking and payment problems
- The card is declined: Check the payment details and available funds, then use another method shown in checkout. Cameo may cancel a request when payment is declined.
- You see a pending website transaction: It may be an authorization hold rather than a completed charge. Check the order status and bank transaction details.
- No confirmation arrives: Check the account’s order status and email folders, including spam, before placing another order to avoid a duplicate booking.
- The event is close: Confirm the creator’s delivery option before ordering. A faster option only exists for participating creators and does not remove the risk of a decline or delay.
- The name or details are wrong: Contact Cameo promptly through its support channels; do not assume a submitted order can be edited or that changes to an existing order can be paid with gift credit.
- You chose personal instead of business: If the video is promotional or commercial, contact Cameo before proceeding; the personal path is intended for private requests.
- You expected cash back but received credit: Check the platform-specific policy. For iOS, use Apple’s refund process if you prefer a refund and meet the policy’s stated conditions.
- Your gift balance is too small: Add another payment method for the difference if checkout offers it.
