You can move a YouTube stream from Gyre to IRL Pro only after confirming that IRL Pro can meet the requirements that make your current broadcast continuous. Gyre documents cloud playback of prerecorded files; IRL Pro documents an Android app that sends a broadcast over RTMP or SRT. The available IRL Pro instructions do not establish indefinite prerecorded looping, unattended starts, or automatic recovery after interruption. Configure and validate those behaviors before stopping Gyre.
What changes when you move from Gyre to IRL Pro?
| Area | Gyre | IRL Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Source and playback | Gyre describes continuous streams assembled from prerecorded files and sent from its infrastructure. Its documented workflow includes preparing a playlist and uploading files. Gyre’s YouTube guide. | The documented setup is an Android broadcasting app sending a feed to a publish URL over RTMP or SRT. The cited instructions do not establish continuous looping of prerecorded files. IRL Pro broadcasting guide. |
| What must stay running | Gyre says its cloud infrastructure sends the stream, so your computer can be switched off. Gyre’s YouTube guide. | IRL Pro’s guide describes an Android app. The available instructions do not establish unattended 24/7 operation or whether the phone must remain active and connected throughout. |
| Connection to YouTube | Gyre describes manual destination setup and a YouTube authorization workflow that can create a broadcast, bind a stream key, transfer metadata, and start streaming. Gyre’s YouTube authorization article. | Configure a current YouTube publish URL and key, then use the matching protocol in IRL Pro. For RTMP, IRL Pro says the URL includes the key; a separate key field is not needed. IRL Pro broadcasting guide. |
| Recovery and monitoring | Gyre describes cloud-hosted continuous playback. The available material does not establish a direct settings or playlist export to IRL Pro. | The guide describes a Streaming status and a live bitrate card after connection. It does not establish automatic recovery following a dropped connection or app interruption. IRL Pro broadcasting guide. |
This is not a like-for-like migration unless IRL Pro can perform the continuous prerecorded playback and recovery your channel needs. Its current capabilities on those points are unresolved in the available instructions; confirm them with IRL Pro documentation or support, or validate them in a controlled run before cutover.
Before you change anything, inventory the existing stream
Record the current setup so you can rebuild the YouTube broadcast deliberately. Gyre’s authorization workflow may handle some broadcast details, but the documented material does not describe exporting a Gyre playlist or settings directly into IRL Pro.
- YouTube channel, current stream title and description, visibility, and any scheduled or monetization settings you rely on.
- How the current stream key is managed, and whether the destination was connected manually or through Gyre’s YouTube authorization.
- The source files, playlist order, and any gaps, transitions, or repeat behavior required for continuous playback.
- What happens if the stream or network connection drops, and how you currently notice and respond.
Confirm IRL Pro can handle your continuous-playback requirements
Before configuring a replacement, ask IRL Pro specifically whether the Android app can play your prerecorded files continuously, loop a playlist indefinitely, start unattended on a schedule, and resume automatically after a network loss or app interruption. The cited guide explains broadcast connection settings, but does not answer these questions. Do not infer those capabilities from RTMP or SRT support: those protocols describe how a feed is sent, not how prerecorded playback is scheduled or recovered.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Also establish whether the phone can remain powered, connected, and available for the entire intended run under your conditions. The documented setup requires IRL Pro on Android, but the available material does not demonstrate that a phone is suitable for unattended 24/7 duty. If a required behavior cannot be verified, IRL Pro is not yet a validated replacement for that part of Gyre’s workflow.
Set up the YouTube destination and IRL Pro connection
- Enable live streaming and open YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to enable live streaming, then enter the stream URL and key in the encoder and start sending the feed. Follow the current prompts in YouTube’s live encoder setup.
- Get the current destination URL and stream key. Use the values shown for the broadcast in Live Control Room. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it or share it in screenshots, and replace it if it is exposed.
- Choose a protocol supported by both ends. IRL Pro documents RTMP and SRT. YouTube documents RTMPS as RTMP over TLS/SSL for supported encoders; obtain the RTMPS URL from Live Control Room and use it when the app and destination configuration support it. Match the selected protocol to the URL rather than mixing settings.
- Update the URL if you change key settings. IRL Pro notes that changing a key’s region or protocol, or rotating the key, invalidates the previous URL. Copy the newly generated publish URL and replace the old one in IRL Pro.
- Enter the full publish URL in IRL Pro. Select the same protocol in the app and paste the complete URL. For RTMP, the guide says the key is already included in that URL, so a separate key field is unnecessary. Follow the app’s current fields for other protocol configurations.
- Set conservative video output within the key’s cap. IRL Pro’s guide says to set resolution, frame rate, and bitrate below the selected key’s published cap. Use the current cap shown in your dashboard; the guide’s example plan limits may change. Start with a modest output your connection can sustain, then increase only after a stable test. YouTube’s encoder documentation provides platform guidance, but your usable settings also depend on the configured key and connection.
- Connect and inspect the status. Start the broadcast from IRL Pro and verify that the app reports Streaming and displays its live bitrate card. Confirm in YouTube Live Control Room that the incoming stream is being received and that the intended broadcast is active.
Test continuity and recovery before cutover
A successful connection proves that IRL Pro can send a feed to YouTube; it does not prove that it can replace Gyre’s continuous playlist operation. Keep the existing Gyre broadcast available until the replacement has passed the tests that matter for your channel.

- Confirm the intended prerecorded material plays in the right order and repeats as required.
- Verify the stream remains active without someone manually restarting playback or the app.
- Test what happens after a brief network interruption and an app or device interruption. Confirm whether recovery is automatic, how long it takes, and whether the broadcast resumes at the intended content.
- Check the YouTube viewer-facing result, including title, description, visibility, and whether the correct broadcast is live.
- Observe the stream long enough to identify interruptions, unexpected stops, or bitrate instability relevant to your planned use.
These are operator validation steps, not a migration procedure guaranteed by either vendor. Do not stop the existing stream until the replacement has demonstrated the required behavior in your actual setup.
Plan the cutover and protect your channel settings
Once the replacement is validated, choose a cutover window and decide which broadcast should be live at each point. Avoid assuming that Gyre’s playlist, metadata, or key configuration will appear automatically in IRL Pro: Gyre’s documented YouTube authorization workflow can handle metadata and key binding within its own setup, but no direct export to IRL Pro is documented.

Keep a record of the new URL/protocol configuration without exposing the key, and maintain access to the current YouTube Live Control Room. If you rotate or change the stream key’s protocol or region, replace the URL in IRL Pro as well. A mismatch can prevent the encoder from reaching the intended destination.
YouTube archive, copyright, and reused-content considerations
Archives and long broadcasts
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a longer continuous broadcast will be archived as one video. If you need a replay, plan around the documented under-12-hour archive behavior rather than assuming a stream that runs longer will produce one complete archive. See YouTube’s live stream archive guidance.

Rights to prerecorded material
Moving the encoder does not change your obligations for the content you broadcast. Use video and audio you own or are authorized to stream, including music, archival footage, and any material included in a playlist. Review claims and restrictions in YouTube Studio before relying on a file for a continuous broadcast; a valid stream key does not grant content rights.
Reused content and monetization
Permission to use material and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. Repeatedly streaming prerecorded material does not by itself establish compliance with YouTube’s monetization policies or guarantee monetization. Review the current rules for the channel and content in YouTube’s channel monetization policies before treating a migration as a monetization-safe change.

Troubleshooting common migration problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| IRL Pro cannot connect to YouTube | Incorrect, incomplete, or stale publish URL; mismatched protocol; or a key that was rotated or changed. | Copy the current full URL from Live Control Room, confirm the same protocol is selected in the app, and replace the URL after changing the key’s protocol, region, or value. For RTMP, include the full URL with the embedded key. |
| The stream connects but does not keep playing the playlist | The ability to loop prerecorded files continuously is not established by the cited IRL Pro guide. | Verify the app’s current playback and repeat options with IRL Pro support, then test the exact files and playlist before cutover. A connected encoder alone does not demonstrate looping. |
| The stream stops when unattended | Unattended scheduling and continuous operation on Android are not established by the available instructions. | Ask IRL Pro about unattended operation and device requirements; validate a full run under the conditions you intend to use. Do not assume the phone can substitute for Gyre’s cloud workflow. |
| The stream fails to resume after a drop | Automatic recovery after a connection or app interruption is not established in the cited guide. | Test recovery deliberately and confirm the required restart behavior with IRL Pro. Until it is demonstrated, keep a recovery plan and do not treat the setup as equivalent to continuous cloud playback. |
| Video quality is unstable or the stream is rejected | Resolution, frame rate, or bitrate exceeds the active key’s cap or the connection cannot sustain the selected output. | Check the current cap for the selected key in the dashboard, reduce output settings, and retest. Use current limits rather than copying plan examples from an older guide. |
| YouTube does not show the expected archive | The stream may have run longer than YouTube’s stated automatic-archive window. | YouTube documents automatic archives for streams under 12 hours; its guidance does not establish one complete archive for a longer continuous stream. Plan separate broadcasts if a replay archive is required. |
