Make cloud music for a documentary by drafting a cue brief around the scene’s emotional job, generating a restrained instrumental, revising its arrangement against the edit, and exporting a version that fits the picture. Suno, Soundverse AI Beat Maker, Loudly, SongIntent, and Aiode all have listed web workflows relevant to creating or shaping music; their documented controls and exports differ, so choose by the work you need to do.
Choose A Cloud Workflow For The Cue
Documentary cues often need to support speech, shift with real events, and end where the edit ends. Those are practical scoring goals, not genre presets guaranteed by any tool below. Describe the scene and the cue’s function in plain language, then check each product’s current controls for the specific instrumentation, style, duration, export format, or licensing you need.
| Tool | Documented Cloud Workflow | Useful Confirmed Controls Or Outputs |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Web music workspace | Song generation, editing, section replacement, remixing, extensions, and stem export; stem separation is not included in the Free Plan. |
| Soundverse AI Beat Maker | Web beat maker and browser-based multitrack studio | Instrumental generation, WAV mixes, separated stems, and MIDI editing/export. |
| Loudly | Web music toolkit | Generation, remixing uploaded audio, separated-stem export, mastering, and effects; Free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds. |
| SongIntent | Web-only songwriting workspace | Song generation from ideas, lyrics, flows, beats, or melodies; structure and line-level revisions; TXT export on the Free plan. |
| Aiode | Web audio-to-audio workflow; described as in beta | Uploaded-track transformation, section-level control, multiple takes, individual stems, and DAW drag-and-drop workflows. Free plan allows 2 mix or region exports per month. |
Build A Cue Brief Before Generating
Write down what the scene needs from the music before opening a generator. This keeps revisions tied to the film instead of turning into a search for a generally pleasing track.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Scene: identify what is happening and whether dialogue, narration, or important natural sound must remain clear.
- Emotional role: name the feeling the cue should support, such as quiet resolve or uncertainty, and whether it should stay in the background.
- Shape: describe where the cue should begin to build, thin out, or leave space for a cut. Do not assume a tool can match exact picture timing; verify by editing the result against the sequence.
- Sound palette: name only instruments or textures you actually want. If a particular genre, instrument, or vocal treatment is essential, check that the chosen product supports it before relying on a prompt.
- Deliverable: decide whether a complete mix is enough or whether you need stems, MIDI, or another format for later editing.
Make And Refine The Music In The Cloud
- Choose the tool for the deliverable. Start with Soundverse AI Beat Maker if you need a complete instrumental and documented WAV, stem, or MIDI workflows. Choose Suno for song editing and section replacement, Loudly for a web workflow that includes remixing and separated stems, SongIntent for lyric and structure revisions, or Aiode when you want to transform uploaded audio into new takes. These listed capabilities do not establish support for every documentary style or cue requirement.
- Write a scene-specific prompt. For example: “Instrumental documentary underscore for a reflective interview about rebuilding after a flood. Keep the music restrained beneath spoken narration, begin sparse, add gentle momentum midway, and leave a clean-feeling ending for the edit.” Treat this as direction for the desired result, not a guarantee of exact structure, mix balance, or duration.
- Generate a small set of alternatives. Keep the scene brief fixed and change one musical choice at a time, such as “less rhythmic motion” or “a warmer texture.” This makes it easier to identify what changed. The available number of generations depends on the product and plan; check its current limits.
- Review against picture and dialogue. Place a candidate under the actual scene in your editing workflow. Listen for masking of speech, emotional overstatement, and transitions that fight a cut. If the cue misses, revise the brief around the specific problem rather than prompting only for “better” music.
- Revise the arrangement or source. Use a documented section-editing workflow when a local change is needed: Suno supports section replacement and extensions, SongIntent supports structure and line-level revisions, and Aiode supports section-level control and multiple takes. Soundverse supports MIDI editing and stem export; Loudly supports remixing uploaded audio and separated-stem export. Confirm that the exact operation you need is available on your plan.
- Export and keep an edit-ready copy. Select the format or parts your post-production workflow needs. Soundverse lists WAV mixes, separated stems, and MIDI; Suno lists stem export, though it is excluded from the Free Plan; Loudly lists separated-stem export; Aiode lists individual stems; SongIntent lists TXT export, which is text rather than an audio deliverable. Check current export formats and plan limits before building the handoff around them.
- Record the cue’s provenance. Keep the prompt, generated version, human edits, and product and plan used with the project notes. If registering a work in the United States that contains more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, applicants must disclose it and describe the human author’s contribution. The U.S. Copyright Office says wholly AI-generated material is not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make someone the author, and only human-authored parts of a mixed work may be protected. Read the Copyright Office’s AI report information.
Check Rights Before The Film Leaves Your Edit
Do not assume that a downloadable cue is cleared for a documentary release. Suno’s Free Plan does not include commercial rights. Loudly says paid licensing rights depend on plan terms, and its Personal plan lists commercial licensing. Eleven Music’s listed commercial rights exclude film, TV, and studio games, so its stated rights do not establish suitability for documentary film use. For every product, verify the current terms for the exact plan, distribution, and use; for any voice, cover, or sample, confirm you have consent and check the platform’s terms for that material.
