To keep uploaded videos playing during a live broadcast, send a continuous feed from an encoder on your computer or from a cloud streaming service to YouTube Live. Your YouTube playlist organizes videos; the encoder or service supplies the live video and audio.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility instructions and encoder setup guide.
- The video files you want to play, in the intended order, accessible to the encoder or streaming service.
- An encoder that can play and repeat the sequence, or a cloud service that can do so. Confirm the tool’s current looping controls; a YouTube playlist alone does not provide the live feed.
YouTube describes an encoder this way: “An encoder converts your video into a digital format to stream on YouTube.” YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Choose how to run the loop
Encoder on your computer
Use encoder software that can play your local video files in sequence and repeat them. The computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available while the broadcast is running. Check that the software’s repeat or playlist controls work with your files and desired sequence before going live.
Cloud streaming service
A cloud service can run the prerecorded sequence without relying on a computer at home staying on. YouTube’s encoder guide lists Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. Check any service’s current controls, terms, and pricing; the YouTube guidance does not establish playlist-import or repeat settings for every service.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up the YouTube Live broadcast
- Enable live streaming and verify eligibility. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live. If this is your first stream, allow up to 24 hours for live streaming to become available. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Create or select a stream. In Live Control Room, use the Stream tab to create or select the stream. Copy its stream URL and stream key into your encoder’s YouTube destination settings.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your channel. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder with the replacement.
- Configure the video sequence. Choose the files and order, enable repeat or looping in the encoder, and make sure the sequence can continue unattended. The playlist on YouTube does not substitute for this step.
- Connect and preview. Start the encoder and confirm that the feed appears in Live Control Room. For a scheduled broadcast, YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours in advance and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Check the preview before selecting Go live. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
Use reliable encoder settings
Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it. YouTube’s guidance for RTMP/RTMPS calls for H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended keyframe interval of two seconds, not exceeding four seconds. For the resolution and bitrate, use YouTube’s current encoder settings recommendations and choose values your upload connection can sustain.
- Test with video motion and audio similar to the actual broadcast; a static test image may not reveal problems that appear with moving footage.
- Check that the encoder’s audio input is correct and that sound is audible in the preview.
- Monitor stream health and playback after going live. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video quality.
- Use video and audio you have the rights to stream. A video being uploaded to YouTube or included in your playlist does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it live. Review YouTube’s copyright safety checklist before using third-party material.
End the broadcast and understand the archive limit
When the loop is finished, end the broadcast deliberately in the encoder and Live Control Room. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume a stream lasting longer than 12 hours will be archived in the same way. For a long-running channel, plan separately for preserving the source files and any archive you need.

Troubleshooting common problems
- Go live is unavailable: verify the channel and check for restrictions during the previous 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, activation can take up to 24 hours.
- No preview appears: confirm that the encoder is running, its destination uses the stream URL and key from the correct YouTube stream, and the key has not been reset. Check the encoder’s connection status and Live Control Room stream health.
- The stream stops at the end of one video: the encoder may be playing a file rather than a repeating sequence. Enable its repeat/playlist function and test the transition before the broadcast.
- Playback stutters or stream health degrades: the selected bitrate may exceed what the upload connection can sustain. Use YouTube’s current bitrate guidance, test the connection, and monitor stream health.
- There is no sound or the audio is distorted: select the intended audio source, check the encoder’s audio format settings, and listen to the preview before going live.
- The archive is missing after a very long broadcast: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; longer streams are not guaranteed the same archive handling.
