To make a karaoke track with AI, upload a song you have permission to use to a stem separator, isolate or remove its vocal stem, then export and listen to the instrumental. For a straightforward browser workflow, Vocal Remover AI accepts audio or video uploads and offers isolated vocals and instrumentals as WAV or MP3 downloads. For more control over separated parts, Fadr separates vocals, bass, drums, melodies and instrumental stems.
Choose The Right Source And Workflow
Use a song file you own or are authorized to process. If you need to perform, publish or distribute the karaoke version, check the source music rights and the separator’s terms first. The available product information does not establish permissions for covers or commercial use. Get consent before using or reproducing someone’s voice.
For an existing song, choose a separator that explicitly lists vocal separation. Vocal Remover AI is a simple browser option; Fadr offers several stem types and remix tools. Moises is another stem-separation option, though some separation choices require a paid plan. Their product information does not establish which will give the cleanest result for a particular song.

Make A Karaoke Version From An Existing Song
- Prepare the source. Pick the highest-quality audio file you can use. Keep a copy of the original unchanged so you can compare the result and retry if needed.
- Upload the song. In Vocal Remover AI, upload an audio or video file. The listed upload limit is 500 MB. In Fadr, use its stem-separation workflow; the Basic plan lists basic stem separation and MP3 downloads.
- Separate the vocal. Choose the vocal-removal or vocal-separation option. The goal is to keep the backing while reducing the lead vocal. If you use Moises, note that its free plan allows up to five uploads per month, limits files to five minutes, and has limited stem-separation options.
- Preview before downloading. Listen for vocal remnants, especially in the chorus and any section with backing singers. Also check whether instruments have become thin, watery or uneven; separation can affect sounds that overlap with the voice.
- Export the instrumental. Vocal Remover AI lists WAV and MP3 downloads. Fadr Basic lists MP3 downloads; WAV downloads are listed for Fadr Plus. Keep the original and the separated vocal stem if the tool provides it, so you can compare them or adjust the mix in another audio editor.
- Check the whole track. Play the beginning, a verse, each chorus, any bridge or solo, and the ending. Confirm that the instrumental starts and stops where expected and that no lead vocal is distracting at the loudest point.
Shape The Result For Singing
A useful karaoke backing keeps the melody, harmony, rhythm and transitions clear while leaving the lead vocal out. A vocal separator may also remove or weaken instruments that share frequencies with the singer, and it may leave traces of the voice. Check the sections where the lead overlaps most with the accompaniment; do not assume a preview of one verse represents the entire song.
- For a solo lead: listen for the main vocal between phrases and at the ends of lines.
- For backing vocals: check whether the separator removed harmonies you want to keep along with the lead.
- For a band-heavy chorus: compare the chorus with the original, since dense overlapping parts can make artifacts more noticeable.
- For a sing-along track: make sure instrumental introductions, breaks and endings remain audible and in time.
When You Want New Accompaniment
For a newly generated song, describe the musical job in a concise brief: “Karaoke backing for a mid-tempo pop sing-along; clear chord progression, steady drums and bass, instrumental intro, space for a lead singer, and a clean ending.” Treat that as a creative specification, not a guaranteed product command. The listed Suno information confirms song generation and editing capabilities, but does not establish support for that specific prompt, genre, instrumental-only output or a karaoke arrangement. Check its current interface and terms before building a workflow around those requirements.
