A small church can keep a YouTube Live channel running with recorded sermons by sending a looping playlist through an encoder. The do-it-yourself option is OBS on a church computer that stays powered on and connected; a cloud service plays uploaded recordings without requiring a computer at the church to remain on. In either case, confirm livestream eligibility, rights to every recording and music track, and the actual stream in YouTube’s preview before relying on it.

Can you loop recorded sermons on YouTube Live?

Yes. YouTube receives a live feed from an encoder; the encoder can send a prerecorded sermon file or playlist as that feed. This creates a continuous live channel, not a conventional archive made from separate sermon uploads. It is useful for an always-available stream, but it does not replace a searchable sermon library.

Before setup, confirm the church has permission to rebroadcast each sermon and all included music, images, and other material. Having a copy of a recording does not by itself establish permission to stream it.

Prepare the channel and recordings

Check livestream eligibility

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Check YouTube’s current instructions in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder; requirements can change.

  • 【AMD Ryzen 7330U】 – The Efficiency-Tuned Powerhouse,AMD Ryzen 7330U (Zen 3, SMT, 4C/8T) in KAMRUI P2 mini PC crushes rivals: Intel i3-10110U (2C/4T, 2019) and N95 (4 efficiency cores, no HT, single-channel memory). Vs predecessor Ryzen 3 4300U (4C/4T): ~50% faster single-core, ~46% multi-core, 8MB L3 cache (vs 4MB). Beats both Intel chips hugely in multi-core, making heavy multitasking, coding, data work smooth at just 15W TDP. High-end power in a cool, efficient box.
  • 【AMD Radeon Graphics】– Triple 4K Vision & Fluidity,The integrated Radeon Graphics (based on the modern Vega architecture with 6 CUs) is a visual beast, outclassing the iGPU offerings from both AMD's prior generation and Intel. The Intel UHD Graphics (i3-10110U/N95) struggles with single-channel memory and low execution units, crippling its gaming performance and barely handling basic 4K video without stuttering. While the older Radeon Vega 5 (4300U) was decent, our 7330U's Radeon Graphics (6 CUs) pushes the boundaries, delivering higher graphics clock speeds (up to 1.8GHz) and significantly better rendering capabilities. It can drive triple 4K@60Hz displays with zero lag, edit photos/videos.
  • 【Generous Storage & Easy Expansion】The KAMRUI Pinova P2 mini desktop computers comes with 16GB LPDDR4X RAM (higher frequency, lower power) for buttery‑smooth multitasking, and a 256GB M.2 SSD for blazing fast boot‑up, quick file transfers, and no more long loading screens. It also features two storage expansion slots (1x M.2 2280 SATA/NVMe PCIe 3.0 slot + 1x M.2 2280 SATA slot), supporting up to 4TB total (not included). You’ll have all the space you need for projects, media, and important data.
  • 【Triple 4K Display Output】The KAMRUI Pinova P2 mini desktop pc is equipped with HDMI 2.0 ×1 + DP 1.4 ×1 + USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C ×1 (with DP Alt Mode), enabling simultaneous triple 4K@60Hz output. Whether for home entertainment, remote work, or conference room presentations, it delivers an immersive visual experience. Two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑A ports (up to 10Gbps – 21x faster than USB 2.0) make data transfers and device expansion a breeze.
  • 【USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C: 10Gbps & Versatile Connectivity】The USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C port on the KAMRUI P2 small pc supports 10Gbps data transfer speeds and can also output DisplayPort 1.4 video. Together with Gigabit LAN, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth, you get a fast, flexible, and productive connected environment – wired or wireless.

Organize the program

  • Choose whether to repeat one sermon or play several in a deliberate order.
  • Check that each file plays correctly, has intelligible audio, and does not include material the church lacks permission to rebroadcast.
  • Decide how viewers will find a particular sermon. A 24/7 stream is not a substitute for separately uploading and organizing individual recordings.

Set up the stream in YouTube Studio

  1. Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live.
  2. Create or schedule the live stream and select the encoder workflow.
  3. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube into the encoder you will use. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to the channel. Do not publish it or share it outside the people responsible for streaming.
  4. Keep the YouTube live dashboard available during setup so you can check the incoming preview and stream health.

DIY method: loop sermons with OBS

OBS runs on a local computer, so that computer, its power, and the church’s internet connection must remain available for the stream to continue. YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started; first see whether the church already has a suitable computer and connection.

Loop one sermon file

  1. Install and open OBS on the church computer.
  2. In the intended scene’s Sources panel, select + and choose Media Source.
  3. Create or select the source, enable Local File, and browse to the sermon video.
  4. Enable Loop in the Media Source properties so playback starts again when the file ends. OBS documents this control in Media Sources.
  5. Check the preview for correct framing and confirm the sermon audio is audible.

Loop a playlist of sermons

  1. In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene.
  2. Add the sermon files to its playlist in the order you want viewers to hear them.
  3. Enable Loop Playlist and check that playback advances to the next file and returns to the start after the final file.

Playlist options and controls may depend on the OBS version and available VLC components. If the VLC Video source is unavailable, check the OBS installation and the current OBS documentation rather than assuming a Media Source will rotate through multiple files.

Connect OBS and start the feed

  1. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream key. If the connection workflow asks for a server, use the stream URL supplied in YouTube Studio.
  2. Open Settings > Output and configure a supported encoder and bitrate that your sustained upload can handle.
  3. Open Settings > Video and choose an output resolution and frame rate appropriate for the source and available upload capacity.
  4. Select Start Streaming in OBS. In YouTube Studio, wait for the preview and inspect stream health before making the feed public or relying on it.

Choose settings the connection can sustain

YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS workflows. For RTMP video, its settings guide lists H.264; supported audio codecs include AAC and MP3. YouTube recommends constant-bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds. Follow the current values and compatibility guidance on Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

For a concrete reference, YouTube’s table recommends a 2 Mbps video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps. That is a recommendation for that listed output, not a guarantee that a particular church connection will sustain it. Select resolution, frame rate, and bitrate together, and do not set them above what the connection can reliably upload. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom. Test the actual program and monitor the incoming stream rather than relying only on a speed test.

The integration of dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (powered by Realtek RTL8125 controller) makes this compact computer an exceptional hardware choice for tech enthusiasts. Easily configure it into software routers, hardware firewalls (pfSense, OpnSense), home NAS servers, or local homelabs.

Test the program and keep it running

  • Watch YouTube’s incoming preview and check stream health before announcing the stream as ready.
  • Listen for clear sermon speech, consistent volume, and unwanted silence or noise; inspect video framing and movement.
  • Confirm that a single file repeats or the playlist advances and loops as intended.
  • Assign someone to check the live dashboard periodically and respond to a stopped encoder, connection problem, or playback issue.
  • For OBS, plan for power, computer, and internet interruptions. A local stream stops if the machine or connection can no longer send the feed.

Plan for recordings and archives

YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume an uninterrupted stream longer than 12 hours will become one complete archive. For a continuous feed, separately preserve the sermon files and upload individual recordings if the church wants viewers to find or replay specific sermons.

DIY OBS or a cloud service?

Neither approach is universally cheaper or more reliable. OBS may make sense if the church already has a suitable computer and someone can keep it running and monitor it. A cloud service avoids leaving that computer on, but the church then depends on the provider as well as its files, credentials, and YouTube destination.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload sermon recordings, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at the church; it does not broadcast from a camera. Every slot streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. The church still needs to confirm rebroadcast rights for its recordings and included material.

Troubleshooting common problems

YouTube does not show an incoming preview

  • Check that livestreaming is enabled for the channel; first-time activation may still be processing.
  • Confirm OBS is streaming to the correct YouTube destination and that the stream key is current and entered correctly.
  • Verify the encoder is running and the church’s upload connection is available.

The stream is unstable or YouTube reports poor health

  • Reduce bitrate, resolution, or frame rate to a level the sustained connection can support.
  • Check for network congestion and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom.
  • Confirm constant bitrate and a keyframe interval of two seconds (no more than four), then test again.

The sermon does not repeat or the playlist stops

  • For a single file, reopen Media Source properties and verify Loop is enabled.
  • For multiple files, confirm the correct playlist is loaded in VLC Video and Loop Playlist is enabled.
  • Play each source file locally to check that it is readable and complete.

Audio is missing or difficult to understand

  • Check the source file’s audio and OBS audio meters, then listen to the YouTube preview rather than relying only on local monitoring.
  • Confirm a supported audio codec is configured and the source has not been muted.

A sermon or music track raises a rights concern

Stop or replace material the church is not authorized to rebroadcast, and confirm permissions with the relevant rights holder. A successful technical test does not establish copyright permission.
