To make a 24/7 YouTube stream of Sanskrit stotras and aarti, you need both a way to send a live feed to YouTube and a playback system that can keep supplying it continuously. YouTube documents a 24/7 broadcast pattern, but its creator guides do not provide a beginner recipe for unattended playlist playback. Before building one, enable live streaming, test the entire setup privately, and make sure you have rights to the specific recordings you plan to use.
1. Make sure your channel can go live
If this is your channel’s first livestream, verify the channel and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before you plan to start. YouTube also lists having no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days among its requirements. Check the channel’s live-streaming access before preparing a long broadcast; access may not be ready immediately after verification. 2. Choose how to send the feed
YouTube supports several ways to broadcast, including desktop or mobile encoders, hardware encoders, webcams, and the YouTube mobile app. For a continuous stream built from recorded devotional music and visuals, an encoder is the most relevant route because it gives you more control over the feed than a basic webcam or mobile-app broadcast. A dedicated hardware streaming encoder is optional; YouTube does not endorse a particular product in its setup documentation.
- Desktop or mobile encoder: use an encoder to send your prepared audio and visuals to YouTube. The cited YouTube guidance does not specify a particular encoder or a playlist-automation workflow.
- Hardware encoder: an alternative if you want a dedicated device to send the broadcast. It is not a YouTube requirement.
- Webcam or mobile app: supported broadcast routes, but they may not suit a stream intended to play a prepared sequence of recordings around the clock.

3. Prepare the music and visuals, then test the whole chain
Arrange the recordings and visuals you intend to broadcast in the playback system you have chosen. Before scheduling a public stream, run an unlisted test and check that the feed reaches YouTube, the audio is audible, the visuals are correct, and playback behaves as intended. YouTube recommends testing with an unlisted stream and checking that the network connection is stable; the additional checks help catch problems in your particular playback setup before viewers encounter them.
- In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and set its visibility to Unlisted for the test.
- Connect your chosen encoder using the stream details and stream key provided for that broadcast. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Start playback through the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives the intended audio and picture.
- Leave the test running long enough to see whether the playback process continues as expected. Check the live status and any warnings in YouTube Studio.
- After fixing any issues, repeat the test before switching to a public broadcast.
Keep your network stable during the test and broadcast. YouTube’s creator guidance does not specify a universal encoder configuration or an unattended playlist recipe for this use case, so confirm the settings and continuous-play behavior with the encoder you select. Do not assume that a successful short test proves a setup will run indefinitely without supervision.

4. Clear rights for the exact recordings
Devotional subject matter, Sanskrit lyrics, or an old composition does not by itself establish that a particular recording is free to use. The underlying text or composition, arrangement, performance, and sound recording can involve different rights. Identify who controls the actual recording and obtain permission where required; do not assume a work or performance is public domain without checking the specific material and applicable jurisdiction.
YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material. A match can trigger a placeholder image, warning, interruption, or termination. If you have a licence for a third-party recording, that may not be enough to prevent an automated interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Coordinate with the label, distributor, or rights owner and ask about allowlisting before relying on the recording in a continuous broadcast. 5. Run and monitor the broadcast
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast that stays live while a separate, shorter broadcast starts and ends on the same stream. That confirms YouTube’s platform model for this pattern, but it is an API example—not a beginner setup guide for unattended playback or a promise that a particular encoder will keep running without intervention. While the stream is running, monitor its live status and respond to warnings or interruptions. The cited documentation does not establish a universal playlist, reboot, or failover configuration for a 24/7 Sanskrit devotional feed, so verify the behavior of your own playback and broadcast chain rather than assuming it will recover automatically.
