In OBS, add the file as a Media Source and enable Loop. For several clips, use a VLC Video source, create a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream with its stream URL and key, check the preview, then select Go live in YouTube Live Control Room.
Choose a single clip or a playlist
Repeat one demo video
In OBS Studio, create a scene and add the recorded demo as a Media Source. Open the source properties and turn on Loop. OBS will replay that file when it reaches the end. The control is documented for Windows, macOS, and Linux in the OBS Media Sources guide.
Cycle through several clips
Use OBS’s VLC Video source to build a playlist, then enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source to appear; if you use 64-bit OBS, OBS’s documentation specifies 64-bit VLC. See the OBS Media Sources guide for source details.
For a booth presentation, review the transition from the last clip back to the first. If a hard cut would be distracting, edit the video or playlist order so the return feels intentional. This is a production choice, not an OBS feature guarantee.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so check account status early. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create or schedule a stream in Live Control Room. Scheduling gives you a shareable event page to promote. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Copy the stream URL and key. In the stream settings in Live Control Room, copy the connection details. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted version of RTMP; use the RTMPS URL shown in those settings when available. Keep the stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your event. See YouTube’s RTMPS guide.
- Enter the details in OBS. Open OBS’s stream settings, choose YouTube as the service if offered, and enter the stream key. If configuring a custom service, use the stream URL and key provided by Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder guide describes software-encoder setup and the stream connection.
- Start OBS and inspect the preview. Start streaming from OBS, then wait for the incoming video to appear in Live Control Room. Check that the demo is moving, the image is correct, and sound is audible before selecting Go live in YouTube.
Set encoding to match the recording and connection
YouTube’s documented RTMP/RTMPS settings support H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; and constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds, and supports up to 60 fps. Its recommended bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate, and codec, so use the current values in YouTube’s encoder settings rather than applying one number to every setup.
- Choose an output resolution and frame rate the recording and upload connection can sustain. Avoid upscaling a lower-resolution demo just to select a larger output setting.
- Use the bitrate recommendation for your chosen resolution, frame rate, and codec. A stable wired connection and adequate upload capacity help reduce interruptions; test the actual setup before the event.
- Set the keyframe interval to two seconds where the encoder allows it, and do not exceed YouTube’s four-second limit.
- Test spoken narration and music at a level where both remain clear. Confirm the audio does not stop while the video continues.
OBS can be the software encoder for this local-file workflow. YouTube also documents hardware encoders, but its guidance does not establish dedicated streaming hardware as necessary when a software encoder meets the requirements.

Test, schedule, and monitor the broadcast
For a planned event, YouTube recommends configuring the encoder at least two hours beforehand and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use the preview window to confirm picture and sound, and test with movement and audio similar to what viewers will encounter. While live, watch YouTube’s stream health and monitor audio and video quality. These are operational recommendations from YouTube’s live-streaming tips and streaming tips.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If the booth demo is intended to remain available afterward, check the event’s archive and visibility settings. DVR can let viewers pause and rewind during a live stream; latency settings involve a trade-off between delay and playback buffering. See YouTube’s live stream settings guide.

Clear rights and plan for interruptions
Confirm you have permission to use every element in the recording, including the demo footage, logos, music, narration, and appearances by identifiable people. YouTube’s settings documentation flags audio and video rights for stream trailers, but that is not a complete rights determination for a booth recording. If you are unsure whether a particular use is authorized, resolve that before broadcasting.
A loop can keep repeating only while the playback source, encoder, and connection continue operating. Test for the full duration you expect to run, including whether the video and audio continue after multiple passes. Arrange for someone to check the stream and respond if OBS playback stops, the network fails, or YouTube reports a stream problem; YouTube recommends ongoing stream-health and audio/video monitoring.

Troubleshooting a booth-demo loop
- The demo stops at the end: Open the Media Source properties and verify Loop is enabled. For multiple files, confirm the source is VLC Video and Loop Playlist is enabled.
- VLC Video is missing in OBS: Install VLC. If OBS is 64-bit, use 64-bit VLC as specified in the OBS documentation.
- YouTube receives no video: Check that OBS is streaming, the stream URL and key match the active Live Control Room event, and the correct source is visible in the OBS scene. Recheck the Live Control Room preview before going live.
- The preview has video but no sound: Check the source’s audio routing and OBS audio meters, then listen to the preview. Test music and narration at realistic levels before the event.
- The stream buffers or loses health: Compare the encoder’s output settings with YouTube’s codec and bitrate guidance, check the upload connection, and test again. Reduce output demands if the connection cannot sustain the selected settings.
- The scheduled broadcast cannot start: Check channel verification and live-streaming restrictions. If live streaming was just enabled, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the recorded demo to keep looping without leaving a computer or home connection running, StreamNeo runs a YouTube stream from the cloud:
- Upload the recorded demo or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from its cloud service.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Your video streams as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos streamed to YouTube, not a live camera feed. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
