To keep a YouTube playlist repeating, start the playlist and turn on its playlist-level Loop or Repeat control. On a TV or game console, open the playback controls and select Repeat until it shows “Repeat • Playlist.” You can use the YouTube app already on a compatible television or streaming device; a new device or a paid subscription is not established as necessary for playlist repeat.
Set a YouTube playlist to repeat on your device
On a computer
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel beside the video.
- Select Loop in the playlist box. Playback will cycle through the playlist.
Right-clicking the player and choosing repeat is a different control: it repeats one video, not the whole playlist. YouTube Help: repeat a playlist or video.
On an Android phone or tablet
- Start playing any video in the playlist.
- In the playlist control box below the video, tap Loop.
- Check the icon: if tapping Loop again adds a “1,” YouTube is set to repeat only the current video. Tap again to return to playlist repeat if needed.
YouTube’s Android instructions say the playlist will repeat continuously when playlist repeat is selected. YouTube Help: repeat a playlist on Android.
On a smart TV or game console
- Open and play the playlist in the YouTube app.
- Press down on the remote or controller to reveal playback controls.
- Select Repeat until the control reads “Repeat • Playlist.” You may also find the repeat toggle in Settings while watching.
Control placement can differ by TV model and app version. If the option is not where these instructions describe, update the YouTube app if an update is available, then consult the instructions for your exact TV or device. YouTube Help: repeat on TV.

Check that you mean playlist repeat, not another playback mode
- Repeat playlist returns to the start of the playlist when it reaches the end.
- Repeat one plays only the current video or song again; the “1” on the repeat icon is a useful clue.
- Autoplay starts another related video after the current one ends. It does not, by itself, make the playlist cycle. YouTube Help: autoplay.
If you are using YouTube Music
YouTube Music has a separate player and repeat control. When an album or playlist is playing, set Repeat to repeat the full album or playlist; the mode marked “1” repeats just the current item. YouTube’s help says repeat is included in the ad-supported offering. Premium adds other benefits, including background play for music, ad-free music, audio-only playback and downloads; the cited instructions do not make Premium a requirement for playlist repeat. Do you need a streaming device in India?
Not if YouTube already works on your TV. YouTube lists supported smart-TV brands and streaming-device platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV streaming devices, Apple TV (4th generation or later), Chromecast, Google TV streaming devices and Roku. The directory is not exhaustive, and support can vary by individual model, so check the exact device before buying. YouTube Help: supported devices.

If your television does not have a working YouTube app, a compatible streaming device is one option. Amazon announced the official YouTube app on compatible Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K devices in India, and its May 2026 announcement for Fire TV Stick HD in India listed YouTube among the available apps. Availability and compatibility can vary by model and market; a Fire TV Stick adds app access, but playlist repeat is still a YouTube playback setting. When repeat controls are missing or behave differently
- The playlist stops at the end: Reopen the playlist controls and check that Repeat is set to playlist rather than off or repeat-one.
- Only one video repeats: Look for the “1” indicator on the repeat icon and switch back to playlist repeat.
- A related video starts instead: That is autoplay behavior. Turn on the playlist’s Repeat control rather than relying on autoplay.
- The TV control is hard to find: Press down while playback is active to show controls; check Settings if Repeat is not on the main controls. Labels and placement may differ by model or app version.
- You are casting from YouTube Music: Connected-device playback can depend on what is playing and what is in the queue. The available help does not specify identical loop steps for every casting setup, so check the controls in the active player and on the TV rather than assuming they match the standard YouTube app. YouTube Music Help: connect to a TV or speaker.
