Larix Broadcaster supports background streaming on Android by default, so locking your Vivo screen should not, by itself, stop a stream. If it does stop, check whether Android or Vivo is restricting Larix’s background activity, and whether the app was explicitly closed.
Start the stream before you lock the screen
- Open Larix Broadcaster while the phone is unlocked and connect to your streaming destination.
- Confirm that the stream is live before locking the screen.
- Lock the phone and check the stream from a separate device if possible. If it ends, continue with the settings checks below.
Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says Android background streaming is available by default and continues until Larix is explicitly closed: Larix Broadcaster FAQ. That describes the app’s default behavior, not a guarantee that every phone’s power-management settings will allow an uninterrupted session.
Check Android’s battery setting for Larix
Android’s app battery modes include Unrestricted, Optimized (the default), and Restricted. Restricted prevents an app from running in the background. The available controls can vary by Android version and manufacturer. See Android’s background optimization documentation.
- Open Settings and find Larix Broadcaster in the installed-apps or app-battery settings. The exact route and labels depend on your Android version.
- Open Larix’s battery-use or background-use options.
- If its mode is Restricted, change it to a mode that permits background activity. If the stream still stops under Optimized, try Unrestricted if your phone offers that option, then test again.
- After changing the setting, start a new stream and lock the screen to check whether it stays live.
Check Vivo’s additional background-power controls
Vivo support lists a “High background power consumption” control, but its support index does not provide one menu path that applies to every model. Names and availability can vary with the phone model and software version. Search Settings for “Larix,” “battery,” or “background” and look for controls governing background power use or app activity. Vivo’s support index is at vivo Global smartphone FAQs.

If you cannot find the control, consult the manual or Vivo support for your specific phone and software version rather than relying on a menu path intended for a different model.
If the stream still ends
- Make sure Larix was not closed. Background streaming is different from explicitly closing the app. Reopen Larix and start the stream again.
- Review power-saving features. Check both Larix’s Android battery mode and any Vivo-specific background controls; changing one may not remove restrictions imposed by the other.
- Check the mobile connection. Weak signal can affect a live stream, and a poor connection may make a session unreliable.
- Consider battery limits separately. Live streaming, mobile data, and background activity can increase power consumption; Vivo also notes that weak signal and long streaming sessions can use more power. Its guidance is at vivo China’s battery and standby-time support page.
- Change one setting at a time and retest. This helps identify whether a particular Android or Vivo control is affecting Larix. If controls are missing or the problem persists, contact Vivo support with your model and Android/Funtouch OS or OriginOS version.
A compatible power bank may help if the phone runs low on battery during a long stream. It will not prevent Android or Vivo from restricting Larix in the background.
