Turn off the repeat control at that source. A viewer’s YouTube Loop setting does not control a prerecorded gameplay feed being sent to YouTube Live.
First identify what is repeating
The right fix depends on who controls playback. If you are watching a replay, change the YouTube player or playlist setting. If you are watching an embedded video, the page’s player configuration may be making it loop. If you are the creator sending prerecorded gameplay as a live stream, check the encoder’s active media source or playlist.

If you are watching a replay on YouTube
Turn off video repeat on a computer
- Open the video player’s context menu.
- Turn off Loop if it is enabled.
Check the playlist separately
If the video is playing as part of a playlist, inspect the playlist’s own loop control too. A playlist can repeat even when the currently visible item is a single gaming replay. YouTube Help describes the feature this way: “You can play a video or playlist on repeat by looping it.”
On a TV or gaming console
Open the playback controls or YouTube player Settings and switch off Repeat. Check whether the control applies to the current video or to the playlist; these are distinct repeat modes.

If you are broadcasting prerecorded gameplay as a live stream
YouTube receives the outgoing video from the creator’s encoder. Its live-stream setup uses a stream URL and stream key to connect that encoder to the broadcast. The viewer’s Loop or Repeat control is separate and will not change what the encoder sends.
- In your encoder, confirm that the intended gameplay file or playlist is the active media source.
- Check that source’s or playlist’s repeat/loop setting. If the same file restarts at the source, disable that setting.
- Inspect the encoder’s outgoing preview to confirm the intended sequence before relying on the live feed.
Encoder interfaces differ, and the steps above are deliberately not tied to a particular menu path: app-specific controls vary. If you need exact instructions, identify the encoder and version you are using. YouTube’s live-stream settings documentation describes stream setup, keys, URLs and related broadcast settings, but does not document an encoder-independent YouTube Studio switch for stopping a prerecorded source from looping.

If the video is embedded on a website
The page may configure the embedded player to loop. For a single-video embed, Google’s IFrame Player API supports looping with loop=1 together with playlist set to that same video’s ID. If you manage the page, inspect and change those player parameters; a viewer’s YouTube toggle may not be the controlling setting.
Troubleshoot a repeat that continues
- The same video restarts in ordinary YouTube playback: turn off the video’s Loop control.
- The next item or the whole set begins again: check the playlist’s repeat control rather than only the current video setting.
- A video repeats only inside a webpage: ask the page owner to inspect the embedded player configuration, including its loop and playlist parameters.
- Your live feed restarts the same gameplay file: check the encoder’s active media source and its repeat setting, then verify the outgoing preview.
- You cannot find the relevant control: specify whether this is viewer playback, playlist playback, an embed, or an encoder feed, along with the device or encoder app. Controls vary, and one interface’s steps should not be assumed to apply to another.
