You can run a Tamil songs livestream around the clock by looping authorized audio or video in OBS Studio on a spare laptop and sending it to YouTube Live. First confirm the channel can livestream and that you have permission to broadcast every song and visual. Then test the laptop, connection, audio, and local recording before leaving the stream unattended. A single laptop setup can be interrupted by power, internet, encoder, channel-access, or rights problems, so plan how you will monitor and recover it.
Before setup: clear YouTube eligibility and music rights
Check that the channel can livestream
Verify the channel and check livestream eligibility in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room before setting a launch date. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube for Artists advises enabling livestreaming at least 24 hours before the first planned stream, so do not leave first-time activation until the day you want to go live. These requirements and interface details can change; check the current Live Control Room for your channel. YouTube’s livestreaming help and YouTube for Artists provide current platform guidance.
Get permission for every song and visual
Do not assume that buying a recording, subscribing to a music service, or having permission to play music privately gives you the right to livestream it. Obtain permission covering the intended YouTube livestream and territories from the relevant rights holders. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and can interrupt or terminate a stream when matched content is unresolved. If a rights holder has licensed the songs, ask them to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist; YouTube warns that a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Set up a looping Tamil songs source in OBS
- Install and open OBS Studio. Create a scene for the stream. The exact interface can vary by OBS release.
- Add your content. In the scene’s Sources, add a Media Source for a local audio or video file. Enable its Loop option. For a collection, use OBS’s VLC Video source to create a playlist, then set Loop Playlist and, if desired, Shuffle Playlist. OBS notes that VLC must be installed for the VLC source to appear. Consult the OBS Media Sources documentation for source behavior and controls.
- Check the transitions and sound. Let the source play through a transition, confirm the visual does not go blank unexpectedly, and listen for clipping, silence, or abrupt level changes. Looping controls playback only; it does not grant music rights or prove the laptop can decode and stream continuously.
- Keep the computer able to run. Connect reliable power, prevent sleep while plugged in using your operating system’s power settings, and make sure ventilation is unobstructed. No particular laptop model or configuration is established as sufficient: test the actual machine for heat, stability, and encoding load during a representative run.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Create or schedule an encoder broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live and use the Live Control Room to create or schedule a stream. You can also use OBS’s YouTube integration to create and manage broadcasts where available.
- Connect the encoder. In OBS stream settings, choose YouTube if the integration is available. Otherwise copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube’s Live Control Room into OBS. Treat the stream key like a password: do not post or share it. If exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Start and verify the feed. Start streaming in OBS, then confirm the preview and stream health in Live Control Room. Depending on the broadcast workflow and scheduled-stream settings, you may also need to select Go Live in YouTube. Auto-start and auto-stop settings affect whether a scheduled event begins or ends automatically; check them before relying on an unattended schedule. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance covers the Live Control Room workflow.
Choose settings your connection and laptop can sustain
Use YouTube’s encoder requirements as platform guidance, not as a guarantee that an unspecified laptop or internet plan can hold a particular quality. YouTube supports RTMP or RTMPS ingest and lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video encoders, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. For H.264, its recommended bitrate table gives 3 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps and 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps; the recommended values differ for other resolutions and frame rates. Check the current YouTube encoder settings before configuring your stream.

Test quality instead of guessing
- Run an upload-speed test and select a quality level that leaves headroom for network variation. Upload bandwidth, not download speed, is the relevant connection measure.
- For an audio-focused stream with a still or minimally moving visual, begin with a modest resolution and frame rate the laptop and connection can sustain. There is no universal minimum setting established for your machine.
- Match the test to the real broadcast: include the intended audio, visuals, and movement. Inspect the YouTube preview and stream-health messages, and adjust if you see dropped frames, buffering, or unstable health.
- Do not infer continuous capacity from a brief successful connection. Observe a representative test period and check both encoder performance and connection stability. YouTube’s live encoder guidance recommends testing upload capacity and matching stream quality to the connection.
Monitor the stream and plan for interruptions
Before leaving the laptop unattended, confirm the intended scene and playlist are active, audio reaches the YouTube preview, the local recording is being written, and stream health is stable. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video and checking that local archive files continue to grow. For weak Wi-Fi, try moving closer to the router or using a wired connection; if the laptop lacks an Ethernet port, a compatible USB-to-Ethernet adapter may be an option. Check the adapter’s connector compatibility first. A wired connection can help diagnose Wi-Fi instability, but does not guarantee a fix.
If the feed drops, check Live Control Room for stream-health or rights warnings, then inspect OBS for an encoder error, stopped source, or lost connection. Reconnect the encoder and follow the Live Control Room’s prompts. OBS documentation describes scheduled streams with auto-stop disabled as one way to avoid ending a broadcast on a disconnect, but behavior depends on the broadcast configuration and is not a promise of seamless recovery. Do not treat a single spare laptop as a guaranteed-uptime system: power, network, software, account access, and rights enforcement can each stop the stream.

Do not rely on YouTube to save a complete 24-hour replay
YouTube says a livestream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is separate from DVR, which controls whether viewers can rewind during the live broadcast; YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If keeping a replay matters, record locally and verify that the recording file grows while streaming. You can also consider operationally planned shorter broadcasts, but do not assume that restarting streams will preserve uninterrupted viewing or solve every archive issue. See YouTube’s livestreaming tips.
