You generally can’t install Peacock directly on a DISH Hopper, Joey, or Wally receiver. To watch it on the same TV, use Peacock’s app on a compatible smart TV or connected streaming device, sign in to a separate Peacock account, and switch the TV to that app or device’s input.
Does DISH Network have Peacock?
Peacock is not currently listed as a supported app on DISH receivers. Peacock’s supported-device list names various streaming devices, smart TVs, consoles and certain cable-provider boxes, but not DISH Hopper, Joey or Wally receivers. DISH’s receiver documentation describes support for some apps, but does not list Peacock. Because support can change, check Peacock’s current list rather than assuming a particular receiver model will work.
DISH service also does not automatically include a Peacock subscription. DISH says Peacock access for certain NFL programming requires a separate subscription. Having NBC, Bravo or another channel in your DISH package does not by itself unlock Peacock’s streaming catalog.
Peacock and DISH Anywhere are separate services. DISH Anywhere is for watching DISH channels, recordings and selected on-demand programs; it is not a way to stream Peacock shows through your satellite receiver.

What you need
- A compatible smart TV or a supported streaming device, console, phone, tablet or computer.
- An internet connection for the device running Peacock.
- A Peacock account and, for paid content, the appropriate subscription.
- If using an external device, an available HDMI port and the TV remote to select its input.
You can create an account at Peacock’s plans page or in the app. If you already subscribe, choose Sign In. The exact sign-in or activation steps can vary by device, so follow the prompts shown in the app.
Install Peacock on a smart TV
- Connect the TV to the internet and open its Apps, App Store or search function.
- Search for Peacock and select the official app.
- Choose Install, Download or Add, depending on the TV’s wording.
- Open Peacock and choose Sign In or the option to select a plan.
- Enter your account details or follow the on-screen activation instructions.
Menu labels differ by manufacturer. A TV being described as “smart” does not guarantee it supports Peacock: check the app’s current device and software requirements. Peacock’s smart-TV guidance is available here.

Watch Peacock alongside a Hopper, Joey or Wally
Keep the DISH receiver connected to one HDMI input. If the TV does not have a built-in Peacock app, connect a compatible streaming stick, box or game console to another HDMI port and complete that device’s setup. Install Peacock on it and sign in.

To return to satellite television, select the HDMI input used by the DISH receiver. If the TV has Peacock built in, open the app on the TV instead; switch back to the DISH input when you want satellite channels.

A Joey is part of the DISH system, not a general-purpose Peacock player. For Peacock on multiple TVs, each television needs its own compatible built-in app or connected streaming device.
Which devices can run Peacock?
Peacock lists support for compatible Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV devices, Chromecast, Apple TV, select smart TVs, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and certain Cox, DirecTV, Spectrum and Xfinity boxes. It also supports specified phones, tablets and web browsers. Minimum model, operating-system and browser versions apply; consult Peacock’s official compatibility list before relying on an older device.

Practical choices:
- Supported smart TV: Use its app first; it avoids extra hardware.
- Older or unsupported TV: Add a compatible Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV or Google TV/Chromecast device.
- Already-connected console: Install Peacock on a supported PlayStation or Xbox rather than buying another device.
- Phone, tablet or computer: Watch in the app or a supported browser. Casting or mirroring to the TV depends on both the source device and receiver; it is not guaranteed for every setup. A computer can also connect to the TV by HDMI.

Annual plans are promoted as 12 months for the price of 10. Peacock does not appear in the DISH menu
That is expected if the receiver is not a supported Peacock platform. Don’t keep searching the Hopper or Joey menus; check the TV’s app store or use a supported external device.

The TV shows “No signal”
Make sure the streaming device is powered and its HDMI cable is firmly connected. Select the correct TV input with the Input or Source button. If needed, try another HDMI port and select that port on the TV.
The app is missing from the TV
Check the TV model and software against Peacock’s supported-device list. Install available TV software updates, confirm the TV’s region settings, then restart it and search again. If Peacock remains unavailable, use a compatible streaming device.

Check that you’re using the email and password for a Peacock account—not your DISH login. Follow the activation process displayed in the app if one appears. Before creating another account through an app store, check whether you already have an account and confirm its plan and billing status.
Playback buffers or stops
Test the internet connection on the device running Peacock, restart the router and streaming device, close unused apps, and update the app and device software. If other streaming services also buffer, the home network is a more likely problem than the DISH satellite signal. DISH’s stated 1 Mbps minimum for its own live-streaming service is not a recommended speed for Peacock.
Can I watch Peacock through DISH Anywhere?
No. DISH Anywhere streams DISH programming, including eligible channels, recordings and selected on-demand content; it does not provide Peacock’s catalog. You can use both services on a compatible phone, tablet, computer or streaming device, but each has its own app and account.
