If Peacock is playing a movie, show, or live event in Spanish, pause the video and open Audio & Subtitles. Select English under Audio, then choose English, English CC, or Off under Subtitles. Allow up to about 30 seconds for the change to take effect.
If the menus—not just the program—are Spanish, check the language of the Roku, Fire TV, smart TV, phone, tablet, or browser running Peacock. The right fix depends on which part of Peacock is affected.

Change Peacock’s audio from Spanish to English
- Open the movie, episode, or live program that is playing in Spanish.
- Pause playback so the player controls appear.
- Open the speech-bubble menu labeled Audio & Subtitles.
- Connected TV, game console, Roku, Fire TV, or another streaming device: press Up on the remote, then move right to Audio & Subtitles.
- Phone or tablet: tap the video to reveal the controls, then tap the speech-bubble icon.
- Under Audio, select English if it is listed.
- Under Subtitles, select English, English CC, or Off, depending on whether you want captions.
- Resume playback and wait briefly. Peacock’s accessibility guidance says a subtitle or audio selection can take approximately 30 seconds to appear.
Important: Audio and subtitle availability is title-specific. Some Peacock programs have several language tracks, while others do not. The menu—not the device’s general language setting—is the reliable way to determine whether that particular title includes English audio.
First determine what is stuck in Spanish
Only the spoken audio is Spanish
This is usually a playback or title-level setting. Open Audio & Subtitles while the affected program is playing and choose English under Audio if it appears.
If English is not listed, changing the Roku, Fire TV, television, phone, or browser language will not add an English track. The title may not include English audio in the version available through Peacock, or the problem may be limited to that episode or event. Test another title before changing system settings.
Only the subtitles or closed captions are Spanish
Open the same Audio & Subtitles menu and choose English or English CC. To remove captions, choose Off.

Caption appearance—such as font, size, and color—is a separate accessibility preference from the caption language. Changing the appearance will not change Spanish captions to English.
The Peacock menus and buttons are Spanish
If the entire Peacock interface is in Spanish, check the language used by the device or browser hosting the app. Peacock’s publicly documented playback and account settings do not establish a universal account switch that forces every Peacock menu into English.
For example, on Roku, the device language is changed from Settings > System > Language. After changing the host device’s language, fully close Peacock and reopen it. On other televisions, streaming devices, phones, tablets, and browsers, look in the operating system’s language settings rather than only in Peacock’s playback menu.

Only commercials are in Spanish
A Spanish advertisement does not necessarily mean that Peacock’s audio preference is stuck. Advertising can differ from the program’s selected audio track, and Peacock does not provide a viewer control that guarantees every advertisement will play in English.

Check the program itself: if the show or movie plays in English after you select English in Audio & Subtitles, the Spanish commercial is probably not an app-wide audio setting. If the program is also Spanish, continue with the troubleshooting steps below.
The problem affects only one show, episode, or live event
Play a different title. If English appears and works elsewhere, the issue is more likely to be specific to the affected title, episode, event, rights configuration, or metadata than to your device’s general language preference.
Before contacting support, note the title, season and episode or event, device model, and every option displayed under Audio & Subtitles. This information helps distinguish a missing language track from a playback bug.
If Peacock keeps reverting to Spanish
When English is visible in the menu but Peacock will not retain the selection, use the normal Peacock video-playback troubleshooting sequence. These steps are not labeled by Peacock specifically as a Spanish-language fix, but they address app state, device state, and corrupted local data that can prevent playback preferences from sticking.
- Close Peacock and other background apps. Relaunch Peacock and test the same title again.
- Restart the streaming device. Power it down completely or unplug it, wait about 20 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Check the internet connection. A weak or unstable connection can interfere with playback and preference changes.
- Clear Peacock’s cache and data in the device settings, if that option is available. You may need to sign in again afterward.
- Update the device and Peacock app if updates are offered.
- Uninstall and reinstall Peacock. This is more disruptive than restarting, so try the reversible steps first.
After each step, test the same program and check whether English remains selected. Do not reset the television or delete your Peacock account as an initial response; neither is an appropriate first-line language fix.
Platform-specific checks
Roku
If the Roku interface itself is Spanish, open Settings > System > Language and select the desired device language. Then close and reopen Peacock.

If only one program’s audio is Spanish, use Peacock’s in-player Audio & Subtitles menu instead. Roku supports Peacock on compatible Roku streaming devices and Roku TVs, but supported models and requirements can change.
Amazon Fire TV
Check the Fire TV device language in Fire TV’s settings if the menus are Spanish. Relaunch Peacock after changing it. If the issue is limited to a program’s audio or captions, use the in-player menu first.
Peacock lists Fire TV devices running Fire OS 6 and later among its supported platforms, with some model exclusions. An older or unsupported device may need an app or hardware update before troubleshooting can be conclusive.
Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, smart TVs, and game consoles
For Spanish menus, inspect the television or operating system’s language and accessibility settings. For Spanish audio or captions, inspect Audio & Subtitles inside the program.
Also check whether the device and operating system are supported and current. Peacock’s supported-device list varies by platform and operating-system version. If possible, test the same Peacock account and title on another supported device; this quickly shows whether the problem follows the account or stays with the original device.
Phone or tablet
Tap the playing video to reveal the controls, then tap the speech-bubble icon. Select English audio or English captions, or turn subtitles off. If the app menus are Spanish, review the phone or tablet’s system language, then force-close and reopen Peacock.

Check the browser and computer operating-system language if the Peacock menus are Spanish. After changing the language, sign out of Peacock, close the browser, reopen it, and sign back in.

Peacock account settings are available by signing in and selecting Settings, but the documented account-settings information does not identify a global audio-language control. For program audio and captions, use the player menu.
What to do when English is missing from Audio & Subtitles
If English does not appear under Audio, do not assume the device is malfunctioning. The title may not include an English audio track in the version Peacock is currently providing. It may also be an episode- or event-specific issue.
- Test another movie or episode.
- Check whether English appears on another supported device, if one is available.
- Write down the exact choices shown in Audio & Subtitles.
- Record the title, season, episode or event, device and model, Peacock app version if visible, and whether the problem affects audio, subtitles, menus, or advertisements.
- Contact the official Peacock Help Center if English is expected but unavailable or if the selection fails on multiple titles and devices.
Optional cross-device test
You normally should not buy new hardware to fix a Spanish audio selection. Try the playback menu, device-language check, restart, cache or data clearing, and reinstall first.
If your smart-TV app cannot retain settings or expose Peacock’s player controls, testing Peacock on a supported Roku streaming device or a supported Fire TV streaming stick can help identify whether the problem belongs to the television’s app platform. Treat this as a diagnostic or replacement option, not a guaranteed language fix: an alternate device cannot supply English audio when Peacock does not offer an English track for that title.
What will not fix the problem
- Changing your subscription tier does not guarantee an English audio track.
- Deleting your Peacock account is unnecessary for a playback-language problem.
- Installing a PC-cleaning utility will not restore English audio or captions.
- Changing the device language cannot create an English track that is absent from the title.
- A Spanish commercial does not prove that the program’s audio setting is wrong.
- Resetting a television or streaming device should come after the reversible troubleshooting steps, not before them.
Information to give Peacock support
If the issue remains, provide a concise diagnostic report:
- the title, season, episode, or live event;
- your device and exact model;
- the Peacock app version, if available;
- whether Spanish affects spoken audio, subtitles, menus, or advertisements;
- the complete list of choices shown in Audio & Subtitles;
- whether another title offers English; and
- whether the same title behaves differently on another supported device.
That evidence is more useful than simply reporting that “Peacock is stuck in Spanish.” It tells support whether the likely cause is a title’s available tracks, a device-language setting, app data, or a platform-specific playback problem.
For unresolved playback or accessibility issues, use Peacock’s Help Center and Customer Care route rather than changing account plans or performing a factory reset.
