Paramount+ does not publish a definitive explanation for error code 3205 on Samsung TVs, so treat it as a playback failure—not proof of one specific cause. Start with a full TV restart and router restart. If the error persists, test other titles and devices, then update or reinstall the app.
What error 3205 means
Paramount’s Samsung support information does not identify one universal cause for code 3205. It is safest to treat it as a playback symptom that could involve the TV, network, app, account, compatibility, or Paramount’s service. A single title failing is different from every title failing; a problem only on the Samsung TV is different from one that follows your account across devices.
Restart the TV and router first
A short press of the remote’s Power button may put the TV into standby rather than fully restarting it. Paramount recommends unplugging the TV for five minutes, then reconnecting it and relaunching Paramount+. If playback still fails, restart the modem and router and try again. These are Paramount’s Samsung streaming troubleshooting steps.
Samsung also documents an alternative cold boot: with the TV on, hold the remote’s Power button until the TV powers off and back on. Without the remote, unplug the TV for 30 seconds, reconnect it, and retry. The two procedures have different wait times; Paramount’s five-minute unplug is the first choice for this Paramount+ problem. See Samsung’s cold-boot instructions.

Test whether it is the network, app, account, or a title
Try another streaming app on the TV, more than one Paramount+ title, and Paramount+ on a phone or computer using the same account. If practical, briefly connect the TV to a mobile hotspot as a diagnostic test; it is not necessarily a permanent solution.
- Other streaming apps also fail on the TV: Check the TV’s network connection and investigate Wi-Fi, router, or internet-provider problems.
- Other apps work, but all Paramount+ titles fail on the TV: Focus on the Paramount+ app, TV software, compatibility, or account authorization.
- Only one title fails: Try another program and report the title-specific failure to Paramount.
- Paramount+ works on another device with the same account: The Samsung TV or its app is the stronger suspect.
- Paramount+ fails on several devices and networks: Check the account and official Paramount communications or contact support before repeatedly resetting the TV.
- The hotspot works but home Wi-Fi does not: Investigate router settings such as custom DNS, VPNs, parental controls, ad blocking, or security filtering.
A connected-TV indicator or a good speed-test result does not rule out unstable delivery, DNS filtering, authorization, or compatibility problems.

Update Samsung TV software
Outdated TV software or an app installation can contribute to app failures. Paramount says Samsung TVs automatically check for app and TV software updates and lists this manual path for some models: Menu > System > Check for Updates. Many newer models use a path similar to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now. Menu names vary by model, region, and Tizen version; if you do not see these labels, search Settings for “Software Update.” Paramount’s Samsung support page gives its update guidance.
Reinstall Paramount+
Before deleting the app, make sure you know your Paramount+ login details: reinstalling may sign you out. On the Samsung app screen or Smart Hub, highlight Paramount+, open its options, and choose Reinstall if available. Otherwise, delete the app and download it again. Restart the TV afterward, sign in, and test playback. Samsung recommends reinstalling malfunctioning apps in its app troubleshooting guidance.

The app installation is separate from the subscription, which is associated with the account or billing provider. If you pay through Amazon, Apple, Google, Roku, a cable provider, or another partner, check billing through that provider and do not start a second subscription as a troubleshooting step. Paramount describes partner billing and support options in its customer-service information.
Reset Smart Hub only after less disruptive fixes
Resetting Smart Hub affects more than Paramount+. Samsung says it deletes stored information and downloaded apps, and Smart Hub must be activated again. You may need to sign back into your Samsung account, reinstall apps, re-enter app credentials, and restore Smart Hub settings. Use it only after restarting, updating, and reinstalling Paramount+; it is a broader reset, not a targeted Paramount+ cache clear.

Check whether the TV is supported
Paramount says its Samsung app is available on Tizen TVs from 2017 and newer. That model-year boundary does not guarantee identical software behavior on every model. Check the TV’s exact model number and software version rather than relying on when it was purchased. The U.S. Samsung app listing also states a U.S. limitation, so availability can depend on region: see the Paramount+ Samsung app listing.
If your TV is older than the stated support range, or the native app remains unreliable, an HDMI streaming device may provide a way to use Paramount+ on the screen. Samsung names Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, and Google Chromecast as examples of external streaming devices in its streaming-device support information. A different device can bypass a Samsung-native-app problem, but it will not fix an account issue, a Paramount-wide outage, or a faulty home network.

If error 3205 continues
Sign out of Paramount+ on the TV and sign back in. Confirm the subscription is active through the account page or the billing provider, and test the same account on a phone or browser. If it works elsewhere, focus on the TV and app; if it fails across devices, account or service-side troubleshooting is more relevant. Avoid creating a new account, which can cause duplicate billing without identifying the fault.
If several devices and networks fail, check official Paramount communications or contact Paramount+ support rather than repeatedly resetting the TV. The support pages do not establish a permanent public status indicator or a fixed resolution time for error 3205.
