Running 2 minutes 39 seconds, it introduces Jr NTR in a dual role, Saif Ali Khan as a coastal gang leader and Janhvi Kapoor as a young woman connected to Jr NTR’s son. The film’s announced theatrical release date, September 27, 2024, has passed.
What happens in the Devara: Part 1 trailer?
The trailer begins in a coastal setting where Bhaira, played by Saif Ali Khan, and his men operate without fear. The balance shifts with the arrival of Devara, played by Jr NTR. The footage frames Devara as a formidable presence and suggests that his actions will reshape the lives of the people around him.
Hindustan Times reported that Bhaira’s gang loots ships from its coastal village. The trailer also hints at betrayal and greed, but these are indications from the preview rather than a complete account of the film’s plot. Filmmakers kept much of the story under wraps in the trailer coverage.
Who does Jr NTR play?
Jr NTR plays both Devara and his son Varadha, also referred to as Deva and Vara in coverage of the trailer. The preview sets up a contrast between Devara, feared for his strength, and Varadha, who appears less courageous. It raises the possibility that the son will have to step up and carry on his father’s legacy, without revealing how that conflict resolves.

Who are Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in the trailer?
- Saif Ali Khan as Bhaira: Bhaira is presented as a kushti expert and the leader of a coastal gang. The trailer’s opening establishes his group’s power before Devara’s arrival unsettles it.
- Janhvi Kapoor as Thangam: Thangam is connected romantically to Varadha. Her relationship places her within the family and generational conflict the preview sets up.
How long is the trailer, and what languages were announced?

The Indian Express reproduced two lines from the trailer: “There was no caste; no religion. Fear was something they never knew,” describing Bhaira’s gang, and “It’s the story of Red Sea written in blood,” introducing Devara. They establish the preview’s emphasis on fear, violence and a lawless coastal world; they do not provide a full synopsis.
What is known about the action filming?
Hindustan Times reported that Jr NTR said the cast filmed action sequences underwater for 38 days and above ground for 60 days. Those figures are attributed to the actor and should be understood as his account, not as independently verified production records.
