Taylor Swift’s Showgirl-themed Spotify playlist was part of the 2025 promotional rollout for The Life of a Showgirl—not the album itself. Spotify said its orange-and-mint billboards linked to a playlist on Swift’s official Spotify profile, and fans could scan the code with Spotify’s app camera, either at a billboard or online.
How to find the official Showgirl-themed playlist
Look for the campaign playlist through Taylor Swift’s official Spotify profile, rather than assuming that any public playlist with a similar title is the one featured in the campaign. Spotify’s August 15, 2025 campaign announcement says the billboard Spotify code linked directly to a playlist on her profile. The announcement does not provide a stable playlist link or a track list, so a particular playlist URL or song lineup cannot be confirmed from that account.

- Open the Spotify app and go to Taylor Swift’s official artist profile.
- Find the campaign playlist among the playlists shown on her profile. Check that it is associated with Swift’s official profile, not simply that its name includes “Showgirl.”
- If you have the billboard code, open Spotify’s in-app camera and scan it. Spotify said fans could scan the billboard “in person or online using the Spotify app’s camera to unlock the playlist.”
The code route is useful if search results show similarly named playlists; it was the campaign’s direct access method.
What the billboards were promoting
The orange-and-mint campaign led into the announcement of The Life of a Showgirl. Spotify said the first billboard illuminated Times Square at 12:12 a.m. on August 12, 2025, and that the campaign appeared in 12 locations:

- New York City: Times Square and Penn Plaza
- Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami and Nashville
- Toronto
- London: Leicester Square and Meridian Steps
- Paris, Mexico City and São Paulo
These were campaign sites, not a list of places where the album or playlist was exclusively available. The playlist was linked from Swift’s Spotify profile, and Spotify described the billboard code as a way to unlock it.
How the playlist fit into the album rollout
Spotify later described a separate New York fan activation as another chapter in the campaign. Announced on September 25, the activation was scheduled for September 30 through October 2, 2025, from noon to 9 p.m. ET each day. It featured album-inspired photo moments and Easter eggs; Spotify said Swift would not attend. The event and the playlist were promotional experiences tied to the album rollout, not the album itself.

The Life of a Showgirl was released on October 3, 2025. Spotify reported that it became the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 in less than 11 hours, and that it had more than six million pre-saves. Those are Spotify-reported platform figures, not independently established measures of listening across all services.

For readers looking for a physical copy rather than the campaign playlist, Universal Music Japan lists an October 3, 2025 limited one-LP edition and identifies CD and cassette formats as well. Its product information advises checking stock with the seller; it does not establish current inventory or price in other markets.

The label also lists a Japanese-market deluxe CD with an art card, double-sided poster and guitar pick. Those inserts are specified for that regional edition and should not be assumed to come with every CD, LP or cassette. Compare the format, market and edition before buying.
