A 24/7 YouTube live stream can earn through watch-page ads, eligible fan-funding features, Shopping, and YouTube Premium viewing—but running continuously does not guarantee continuous ads or a fixed income. For ad revenue, an India-based channel generally needs YouTube Partner Program (YPP) acceptance and 1,000 subscribers, plus either 4,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the past 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. A lower YPP tier can unlock selected features sooner. These are eligibility thresholds, not approval or earnings guarantees.
How a 24/7 stream can make money
Monetization depends on the revenue source, the channel’s eligibility, viewer behavior, and policy compliance. A stream being live all day does not by itself create a predictable amount of income. YouTube does not guarantee that an ad will be served to every viewer, and there is no supported fixed India-specific earnings estimate for a 24/7 stream.
| Revenue route | How it works | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Live ads | Ads may appear on an eligible live stream after monetization is enabled. | YPP ad-revenue eligibility, policy compliance, and whether an ad is served to a viewer. |
| Super Chat and Super Stickers | Eligible viewers pay to highlight chat messages or send animated stickers. | Feature eligibility, acceptance of the Commerce Product Module, and viewers choosing to pay. |
| Channel memberships | Eligible viewers make recurring monthly payments in exchange for creator-defined perks such as badges or emoji. | Feature eligibility and a community interested in the perks or ongoing interaction. |
| Shopping | Eligible channels may feature their own merchandise or eligible products from other brands. | Channel and feature eligibility, plus applicable YouTube policies. |
| YouTube Premium | A creator may receive a share of a Premium subscriber’s subscription fee when that subscriber watches their content. | Premium subscribers watching the channel’s content and the applicable YouTube terms. |
| Brand partnerships | A creator may earn through arrangements with brands. | Any deal depends on the creator and brand; no specific India-wide terms or partner availability are established here. |
Ads are possible, not continuous
When live monetization is enabled, pre-roll and display ads turn on automatically. Mid-roll ads can be set to run automatically or inserted manually. For automatic mid-rolls, YouTube provides low, medium, and high frequency settings; scheduled mid-rolls offer intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes. These are controls, not a recommended schedule or a promise that an ad will be delivered at every interval. See YouTube’s live-stream ad and break settings.
Viewer payments require a reason to participate
Super Chat and Super Stickers are most relevant when viewers use live chat. Memberships work best when a channel offers perks or a sense of community that viewers value. These are voluntary purchases: eligibility does not mean viewers will pay.

YPP eligibility for channels in India
YouTube’s India guidance describes a lower eligibility tier for selected fan-funding features and Shopping, and a higher threshold for ad revenue. The figures below are qualification gates, not automatic admission. YouTube reviews the channel and feature availability can depend on additional conditions.
| YPP level | Subscriber and activity requirements | What it can unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Lower tier | 500 subscribers; three public uploads in the previous 90 days; and either 3,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the past 365 days or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. | Selected fan-funding features and Shopping, subject to the feature’s own requirements. |
| Ad-revenue tier | 1,000 subscribers; and either 4,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the past 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. | Ad revenue and YouTube Premium revenue, subject to YouTube’s terms and policies. |

What happens after you meet a threshold
- Review the Earn tab in YouTube Studio to confirm the channel’s current eligibility and available features.
- Accept the applicable YPP terms and monetization modules. Fan-funding features require acceptance of the Commerce Product Module for first-time users.
- Link an active AdSense for YouTube account when prompted and submit the channel for review.
- Wait for YouTube’s channel review. Reaching the numbers does not guarantee acceptance; policies apply to livestreams as well as other content.
- Once approved for the relevant feature, enable and manage it in YouTube Studio. For live ads, use the stream’s monetization controls and review the mid-roll settings.
Age, country or region, contract-module acceptance, advertiser-friendly content, and other feature-specific conditions may apply. YouTube’s channel monetization policies explain the standards that apply to monetized content.
Make public stream hours count toward the long-form threshold
Public watch time from a livestream can count toward the long-form watch-hour requirement only if the stream is converted to video on demand (VOD). Unlisted, deleted, and non-converted livestreams do not count toward qualified watch hours. If you are working toward that threshold, make sure the stream is public and its replay remains available as a VOD. This qualification rule does not establish a maximum livestream duration or guarantee that every hour watched will qualify.

Keep the stream running without leaving a computer on
If you are producing a 24/7 channel yourself, the stream must keep reaching YouTube while it is live. A home computer or streaming setup that stops sending the stream can interrupt it. StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Its stream continues from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not broadcast a live camera feed. It keeps the uploaded video at its original quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode and one flat price per slot, and it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots, and supports 24/7 looping and playlists. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. The monthly option is $9.99 per month.

Do not estimate a stream’s likely income from its duration alone. The official guidance cited here does not establish a typical India RPM or a dependable rupee amount per hour, and ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Actual revenue depends on eligible monetization, ad delivery and viewing, voluntary purchases, Premium viewing, and any brand arrangements.

Common monetization problems and what to check
- You meet the numbers but cannot join YPP: Check the Earn tab for the channel’s review status, required terms, account linkage, and any policy or feature-specific conditions. Thresholds alone do not guarantee approval.
- Live ads are enabled but viewers do not all see ads: YouTube does not promise an ad for each viewer or every ad slot. Review the live monetization and mid-roll settings, but do not treat an interval setting as guaranteed delivery.
- Livestream hours are missing from the long-form total: Confirm the stream was public and converted to VOD. Unlisted, deleted, and non-converted streams are excluded from qualified watch hours.
- Fan-funding options are unavailable: Confirm the channel meets the applicable tier and the feature’s own requirements, including accepting the Commerce Product Module where required. Check feature availability in YouTube Studio.
- A stream replay is unavailable or watch hours do not qualify: Review the stream’s visibility and VOD status in YouTube Studio. The cited YPP rules do not specify a maximum archive duration or establish that every public live hour qualifies.
