Use the process below only for music you created, have permission to download, is public domain, or the rights holder has expressly made available under a suitable licence.
This guide describes the interface currently documented at tubidy.sc. Other Tubidy-branded domains may redirect elsewhere or show different controls, so do not assume that every site using the Tubidy name works the same way.
Before downloading: check that you have the right to do so
A song being searchable on the internet does not make it free to copy. Tubidy’s terms require users to comply with applicable copyright law and prohibit copying or distributing third-party content without permission. In the United States, the Copyright Office likewise warns that downloading a protected work without authorization can infringe the copyright owner’s rights. “Personal use” is not a blanket exception.

What Tubidy currently supports
At the time of writing, tubidy.sc presents itself as a browser-based search and conversion service. You do not need to create an account or buy a subscription according to its homepage. Its initial search results come from YouTube. The site’s FAQ says that additional SoundCloud results can be loaded using a control labelled “Load more”; the homepage describes the same action as “Load SoundCloud results.” The wording may vary.
| Source | Available format | What happens first |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube result | MP3 or MP4 | Tubidy converts the result before the download begins. |
| SoundCloud result | MP3 | Tubidy says the file downloads directly, without conversion. |
Tubidy does not provide its own download-folder setting. Your browser decides where the file is saved.

How to download an authorized track
- Open the current interface. Go to tubidy.sc. Confirm that you are on the site you intended to visit; Tubidy-branded domains are not necessarily equivalent.
- Search for the music. Enter a song title, artist, or other search term in the field labelled “Search Tubidy.” Use a distinctive query, such as the artist name plus the exact track title, to reduce the chance of selecting the wrong recording.
- Run the search. Select the “Search” button. The first results are described by Tubidy as YouTube results.
- Check the result before selecting it. Compare the title, artist, duration, and source information with the recording you are authorized to use. Search results can contain similarly named tracks, unofficial uploads, live versions, or edits.
- Select that result’s download control. Tubidy’s current documentation refers to these generically as download buttons rather than giving one stable label for every result. Do not click unrelated advertisements, pop-ups, or prompts to install software.
- Choose the format for a YouTube result. After conversion, select MP3 for audio or MP4 for video when those options appear. For a music-only documentary soundtrack, MP3 is normally the relevant choice, but it may not contain the metadata or quality required by your editing workflow.
- Wait for conversion to finish. A delay is not automatically a browser failure. Tubidy says YouTube downloads are converted before they are offered to you. Keep the tab open while the process completes.
- Use the extra-results control if necessary. If the initial YouTube list does not include the authorized recording, select “Load more” or “Load SoundCloud results,” depending on the wording shown. Then review the additional results carefully.
- Download a SoundCloud result. Select the result’s download button. Tubidy says SoundCloud results are delivered as MP3 without a conversion step.
- Locate the file in your browser’s Downloads location. Check the browser’s configured download folder or its downloads page rather than assuming the file is in a Tubidy-specific directory. If your browser asks where to save it, choose a project folder you can identify later.
Finding the file and checking it safely
On a desktop browser, open the browser’s downloads list—often with Ctrl+J on Windows or Command+Option+L in some macOS browsers—or inspect the download location configured in the browser’s settings. The exact shortcut varies by browser.
Before opening the file, confirm that its extension is the one you selected, such as .mp3 or .mp4. A song download should not require an .exe, .msi, browser extension, “helper” application, or unrelated executable. If a page offers one of these, cancel the download.
For documentary work, listen to the beginning, middle, and end of the file before importing it into an edit. Check that it is the correct recording and that it has no unexpected speech, abrupt cut, heavy compression, or wrong version. Keep a copy of the permission or licence alongside the media file and note the required credit.

Common problems and the documented fixes
| Problem | Likely explanation | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| The conversion appears stuck | The conversion has stalled or the browser has retained bad cached data. | Clear the browser cache and refresh the page. If it still fails, try another current browser or use Tubidy’s contact form. |
| A result returns an error | The source may be unavailable for conversion. | Check whether it is a livestream, age-restricted or private content requiring login, or longer than 90 minutes. Tubidy says videos over 90 minutes may appear in results but cannot be downloaded. |
| The track is missing | The first search is YouTube-based, so the desired item may not be in that result set. | Use “Load more” or “Load SoundCloud results” if the control is available. |
| A “blacklisted” message appears | Tubidy says this indicates that the daily download limit has been reached. | Wait for the stated block to expire. Tubidy says the IP address is unblocked after 24 hours. |
| The controls do not match this guide | You may be using another Tubidy-branded domain, a redirect, or a changed interface. | Do not assume that labels such as “MP3” or “Load SoundCloud results” exist everywhere. Verify the domain and avoid entering credentials or installing software. |
Privacy and browser-safety notes

It also mentions cookies and targeted advertising. Its terms disclaim guarantees that the service will be secure, error-free, or free of harmful components.
That does not mean every download is dangerous, but it does mean the browser session deserves normal caution:

What “free” means for a documentary soundtrack
Downloading a file and having permission to use it in a production are separate questions. A track may be available at no charge but still prohibit synchronising it with images, uploading the finished documentary, monetising the film, or distributing copies. Read the rights holder’s licence before you edit the music into a project.
When the licence requires attribution, save the exact credit wording. A useful production record includes the track title, performer, source URL, download date, licence or permission, permitted uses, attribution text, and any expiry or territory restrictions. This is more reliable than trying to reconstruct the rights position after the documentary is finished.

Where does Tubidy save downloaded MP3 files?
Tubidy does not provide a separate in-site folder setting. The browser controls the destination, so check its configured Downloads location or choose a folder if the browser prompts you.
Why is a Tubidy conversion taking so long?
YouTube results require conversion before an MP3 or MP4 download is offered, so a short wait can be normal. If the process remains stuck, Tubidy recommends clearing the browser cache, refreshing, trying another browser, or contacting the site.
Why can’t I download a particular result?
Tubidy says downloads may fail for livestreams, private or age-restricted videos that require login, and videos longer than 90 minutes. A missing result may also be because the initial search is YouTube-based; try the control labelled “Load more” or “Load SoundCloud results” if available.
The Bottom Line
Tubidy’s current tubidy.sc workflow is simple: search, select an authorized result, wait for YouTube conversion when required, choose MP3 or MP4, and retrieve the file from your browser’s Downloads location. The important qualification is rights clearance. For documentary use, keep the licence or permission with the downloaded file, and stop if the site requests software, credentials, payment, or unusual browser permissions.
