You can delete any secondary Netflix profile from a TV, the Netflix mobile app, or a desktop browser. Open Manage Profiles, select the profile, choose the pencil-shaped Edit icon, and select Delete Profile. Netflix’s primary profile cannot be deleted.
Important: deleting a profile permanently removes its viewing history and saved game data, along with its recommendations and other profile-specific information. It does not cancel your Netflix membership or delete the entire account.

Netflix’s menus can vary slightly by device, app version, country, and account type. If the option is unavailable on your device, use Netflix’s Manage Profiles page in a desktop browser.
Delete a Netflix profile on a TV or streaming device
These steps apply broadly to smart TVs and connected devices such as streaming sticks, media players, cable boxes, Apple TV, Xbox, and PlayStation, although the remote-control layout may differ.

- Open Netflix and go to the profile selection screen.
- Highlight or select the profile you want to remove.
- Choose the pencil-shaped Edit icon. Some devices may show Manage Profiles first.
- Select Delete Profile.
- Confirm the deletion if Netflix displays a prompt.
If you cannot find the editing controls, do not assume the profile is protected by the TV. Check that you are not trying to delete the primary profile, then try the browser method below.
Delete a Netflix profile on Android or iPhone
Use the Netflix app rather than a mobile browser:
- Open the Netflix app.
- Tap My Netflix in the lower-right corner.
- At the top, tap the name of the current profile.
- Tap Manage Profiles.
- Select the profile to remove.
- Tap the pencil-shaped Edit icon.
- Tap Delete Profile, then confirm.
Capitalization and icon placement may differ slightly between Android and iOS. If you are using Netflix in a phone browser and cannot see these controls, switch to a desktop browser.
Delete a Netflix profile on a desktop or laptop
- Open Netflix in a desktop browser and sign in.
- Open Manage Profiles.
- Select the profile you want to delete.
- Click the pencil-shaped Edit icon.
- Click Delete Profile and confirm.
Can you delete the primary Netflix profile?
No. Netflix states that the main profile originally created for the account cannot be deleted. You can remove secondary profiles, but the primary profile must remain on the account.

If Delete Profile is missing, confirm that the selected profile is not the primary one. Netflix also states that either the profile being deleted or the primary profile must be active. Switch to the primary profile, reopen Manage Profiles, and try again.

Deleting a profile removes that profile from the account. Netflix specifically says the profile’s viewing history and saved game data are deleted. Its recommendations, My List, ratings, playback settings, language preferences, and other personalized profile data are also associated with that profile and will no longer be available through it.
Netflix’s current deletion guidance does not separately spell out what happens to downloaded titles. Treat downloads associated with the deleted profile as unavailable after deletion, but do not confuse this with deleting the whole Netflix account.

Profile deletion does not mean canceling Netflix, stopping billing, or signing out of every device. Account-level subscription, payment, and household settings are separate from the selected profile.
Deleting a Kids profile
A Kids profile is still a profile and can be removed through Manage Profiles:

- Select the Kids profile.
- Choose Edit.
- Select Delete Profile.
- Confirm the deletion.
Do not confuse deleting the profile with turning off the Kids experience. Editing the Kids experience keeps the profile while changing its settings. Netflix also states that the primary profile cannot be set up as a Kids profile.

If restrictions prevent you from completing the change, switch to the primary profile or another eligible profile and retry.
What if the profile has a PIN?
A Profile Lock PIN controls access to a profile; it is not automatically a deletion barrier. Netflix may request the account password or another verification step before allowing profile changes. If you forgot the PIN, use Netflix’s Forgot PIN? recovery option in the profile settings. See Netflix’s Profile Lock instructions for the current verification process.

- Confirm that you selected a secondary profile, not the primary profile.
- Switch to the primary profile, then reopen Manage Profiles.
- Try the process from a desktop browser at netflix.com/profiles/manage.
- Sign out and back in if the TV or app has not refreshed.
- In a browser, clear Netflix’s stored cookie at netflix.com/clearcookies.
- Restart the browser and temporarily disable extensions.
- Contact Netflix support if the control remains unavailable.
Netflix identifies stale browser data and extensions as possible causes when profile or account changes fail to save. Its recommended remedies include clearing the Netflix cookie, restarting the browser, and disabling extensions.

Delete a profile, sign out, or cancel Netflix?

Account limitations to know
Netflix says a standard account can have up to five profiles. Profiles are unavailable on devices made before 2013, and extra-member accounts have one profile and cannot create additional profiles. These limitations can affect which profile-management controls appear.
