Peacock does not create a separate teacher account. Eligible U.S. educators verify their status through SheerID, receive a one-time promotional code, and apply it to a regular Peacock account. Under Peacock’s current teacher terms, the promotion is Peacock Premium for 12 months at $6.99 per month, with a valid payment method and annual re-verification required. It renews at $10.99 per month—or the then-current retail price—unless canceled or renewed under an available educator offer.
Pricing warning: Peacock’s teacher help page still shows older $3.99 and $7.99 figures. Treat the current terms and the final checkout screen as controlling, and confirm the amount before submitting payment.

Who qualifies for Peacock’s teacher offer?
Peacock’s official terms say applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Currently work as a teacher, faculty member, or staff member.
- Work for a public or private K–12 school or university.
- Live in the United States, including its territories, commonwealths, and possessions.
- Provide a valid payment method and satisfy SheerID verification.
The terms do not provide a complete decision table for substitute teachers, student teachers, retirees, tutors, homeschool educators, preschool or daycare employees, contractors, volunteers, paraprofessionals, or teaching assistants. Those cases depend on SheerID’s live verification rules; do not assume approval.
What to prepare before starting
- Your current employer and school name.
- Your legal name and date of birth, as requested by SheerID.
- Access to the email address you will use for Peacock.
- An accepted credit card or PayPal account where available.
- Details of any existing Peacock subscription and who bills it.
Peacock says first name, last name, date of birth, and school information are shared with SheerID. SheerID may verify you automatically or request additional documentation. The exact documents and upload instructions appear in the live verification flow and can change; Peacock does not publish a guaranteed list. How to verify teacher status and create a new account
- Open the official entry point at peacocktv.com/teacher.
- Select the teacher-offer start button and complete the SheerID form.
- If prompted, provide the additional documents requested by SheerID.
- After approval, copy or save the unique promotional code. The terms say it expires 30 days after successful verification.
- Select Redeem Now or continue through the enrollment link.
- Create a normal Peacock account with your email address and password.
- Add a valid payment method.
- Before confirming, verify that the plan says Peacock Premium, the promotional amount is correct, and the end and next-billing dates are visible.
- Save the confirmation email and note the date 12 months later.
The code is single-use, limited to one code per person and per email account, and cannot be transferred, resold, or exchanged.
How existing Peacock subscribers redeem it
- Start at the official teacher page and complete SheerID verification.
- Sign in to the Peacock account you want to keep.
- Open Account → Plans & Payments.
- Enter the individual promotional code and review the resulting plan, price, and billing date.
Peacock warns that an existing paid subscription may need to be canceled before the offer can be applied. Do not cancel automatically: first identify the billing source and follow the path Peacock presents.
Direct Peacock billing
A subscription billed directly by Peacock is generally managed from Plans & Payments. If redemption is blocked, support may require the current term to end before the educator subscription begins.

Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, or provider billing
Check the account’s payment or subscription information. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, Spectrum, Verizon, Xfinity, or another provider is listed, that provider controls cancellation. Peacock’s cancellation guidance explains that Peacock cannot cancel those subscriptions directly. Cancel through the provider and wait for the existing access to lapse if Peacock requires a gap before activation. Avoid opening a second account unless support specifically recommends it, because duplicate accounts can cause duplicate charges and split profiles or viewing history.
Price, payment, renewal, and cancellation

The teacher terms contain the $6.99 rate and renewal rules. Peacock’s separate teacher help page still displays $3.99 and $7.99, while its price-help page lists $10.99 as the published Premium price after the July 23, 2025 change. Check checkout rather than relying on an older marketing figure.
Peacock requires payment details so it can charge after the promotional period and prevent interruption. For direct billing, use the account cancellation control, such as Cancel All Subscriptions, complete confirmation, and retain the email. Third-party subscriptions must be canceled with the provider. Cancellation normally stops future renewal at the end of the paid term; it does not generally create a prorated refund or credit for time already paid.

Premium versus Premium Plus
The teacher terms describe Peacock Premium, not an automatic Premium Plus entitlement. If you need ad-free viewing or other Premium Plus features, check whether an upgrade is offered and what it costs. Peacock warns that changing plans during a promotion can remove the promotional price; its plan-change guidance is at this help page.
Verification and redemption troubleshooting
SheerID cannot find the school or employment
- Use your current legal name and current institution, not a former employer.
- Check spelling and employment details against institutional records.
- Follow any request for additional documentation in the live form.
- Keep screenshots and confirmation emails.
A school email address alone is not guaranteed to establish eligibility. If the identity or document decision remains unresolved, use the SheerID support route shown during verification.
The code is lost, expired, or already used
Save the code immediately and do not share it. It is unique, single-use, and valid for 30 days after approval. If it expires or is consumed unsuccessfully, contact Peacock support with the account email and code, or repeat the official verification flow if the site permits it. Do not buy a replacement code from a reseller.

The code works but the discount is missing
Confirm that you are signed in to the intended account, inspect Account → Plans & Payments, and check whether an active direct or third-party subscription is blocking the offer. If verification succeeded but redemption fails, give Peacock support the code, account email, and screenshots.
Payment fails or the displayed price differs
Use an accepted payment method, recheck the amount and renewal date, and stop if checkout does not show the expected promotion. Contact Peacock before completing enrollment rather than assuming the discount will be corrected later.

- Public promotions: A seasonal offer may be cheaper than the educator rate.
- Student eligibility: If you are also enrolled at a Title IV-accredited U.S. college or university, check the separate student offer. It is independently verified and not a teacher benefit.
- Young-adult eligibility: Peacock’s student page directs eligible non-students aged 18–24 to a separate route; availability and price must be checked live.
- Provider-included access: Your cable, wireless, or internet plan may already include Peacock. Check the provider account before paying Peacock directly.
- Apple TV bundle: Peacock lists bundles starting at $14.99 per month for Premium plus Apple TV and $19.99 for Premium Plus plus Apple TV at its Apple help page. This only makes sense if you want both services.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a school email address?
No guarantee is stated. SheerID decides verification using the information and any documents requested in its live process; a school email by itself does not ensure approval.
Can private-school teachers and university staff apply?
Yes, Peacock’s terms include current teachers, faculty, and staff at public or private K–12 schools and universities, subject to SheerID approval.
Can I keep my existing profiles and history?
Using the same Peacock account generally preserves them, but an active subscription may need to lapse before the promotion can be applied.
