The documented route is an encoder or multi-destination relay—not entering one service’s credentials into the other. YouTube’s own guidance covers its encoder destination; Muvi’s guide covers encoder ingest to Muvi Live. Confirm that your chosen encoder or relay can output to both.
What “connect Muvi Live to YouTube” means
Muvi Live and YouTube are separate destinations. Each provides its own ingest URL and stream key, and each key belongs only in the corresponding encoder output. A typical simultaneous setup sends one programme from an encoder to two destinations: Muvi Live for Muvi playback and YouTube for the YouTube watch page.
Muvi’s product page advertises social-media integration and says users can stream live audio events to social channels such as YouTube, but the available product information does not give channel-linking steps or establish that this is the same workflow as sending video through an encoder. The detailed Muvi help guide describes encoder-to-Muvi RTMP ingest. If you want to use a direct integration in your account, check the current Muvi dashboard or ask Muvi support to confirm availability and setup for your plan. Muvi Live product information
Before you start
- Enable YouTube live streaming. Verify the channel and enable live streaming. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave this until just before a scheduled programme. YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance
- Choose an encoder or relay that supports both outputs. Muvi’s example uses OBS as an encoder for Muvi; YouTube documents encoder streaming separately. Controls for adding multiple outputs depend on the software or service you choose.
- Check upload capacity. For simultaneous outputs, add the target bitrates together. YouTube’s example uses 6 Mbps plus 4 Mbps, or 10 Mbps total, and recommends upload capacity 1.5–2 times the combined target—15–20 Mbps in that example. Treat this as a planning example, not a universal bitrate setting; your actual outputs and network conditions may differ. Test and monitor stream health. YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance
- Keep both sets of credentials private. Stream keys grant access to send a feed. Do not show them in screenshots, share them publicly, or include them in published examples.
Set up Muvi Live and YouTube as separate destinations
- Create the Muvi event. In Muvi Dashboard, go to Content Management → Content Library → Add New, choose Live Stream, select an encoding profile and category, then open Manage Source and choose Encoder or Streaming Software – RTMP. Select the nearest location and save. Complete any applicable design, monetization, security, description, and advanced options, then save the event. These labels reflect Muvi’s documented workflow; dashboard labels can change. Muvi’s encoder setup guide
- Copy Muvi’s ingest details. In Content Library, open Stream Info for the new live stream and copy the Muvi Stream URL and Stream Key. These are for the Muvi output only.
- Create or select a YouTube live event. In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live, then use the Stream tab to create or select an event. Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder instructions specify that its own URL and key go into the YouTube encoder destination. YouTube’s encoder instructions
- Add two outputs in your encoder or relay. Configure one destination with Muvi’s URL and key, and a second destination with YouTube’s URL and key. In Muvi’s documented OBS example, select Custom as the service and enter Muvi’s URL in Server and Muvi’s key in Stream Key. The YouTube output must use YouTube’s credentials. The exact steps for configuring a second output depend on your encoder or relay; the Muvi guide does not document a single-click Muvi-to-YouTube setup.
- Start and verify each destination. Start the Muvi stream from its dashboard and wait for the server to start; then start sending from the encoder. In YouTube Live Control Room, confirm that the preview arrives and click Go live when ready. Check playback at both destinations. Give Muvi viewers the Muvi player link, HLS URL, or embed code; give YouTube viewers the YouTube watch page.
- End the event deliberately. Stop sending from the encoder when the programme is over, and end the YouTube event using Live Control Room controls as appropriate. Muvi distinguishes a temporary encoder pause from ending the event in its dashboard: stopping the event there ends it permanently and avoids unnecessary streaming-hour consumption.
Keep the two credential paths straight
| Destination | Get credentials from | Enter them in |
|---|---|---|
| Muvi Live | Muvi Dashboard → Content Library → Stream Info | The encoder or relay’s Muvi output |
| YouTube Live | YouTube Studio → Create → Go Live → Stream | The encoder or relay’s YouTube output |
YouTube supports RTMPS ingestion; if your encoder offers the secure YouTube server endpoint, follow the current endpoint and protocol instructions for that destination rather than substituting Muvi’s ingest details. Google’s RTMPS ingestion reference

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a local encoder or cloud relay
A local hardware or software encoder can provide production control when your computer and connection have sufficient capacity. A cloud encoder or relay can accept one feed and distribute it to multiple destinations, which YouTube says may simplify setup, reduce load on a slower computer, and suit more than two channels; it often involves a subscription. Decide based on destination count, combined bandwidth, latency needs, computer capacity, control requirements, and cost. In either case, verify that the specific tool supports both Muvi Live and YouTube as outputs, then test under realistic conditions and monitor YouTube Live Control Room’s stream health. Troubleshooting
- YouTube does not show a preview: Confirm the channel has live streaming enabled, that you selected the intended event, and that the YouTube output uses the YouTube URL and key. First activation may take up to 24 hours. Check the encoder output and YouTube Live Control Room.
- Muvi does not receive the feed: Confirm the Muvi event is configured for Encoder or Streaming Software – RTMP, the Muvi stream has been started in the dashboard, and the Muvi URL and key are entered in the Muvi output—not the YouTube output.
- One destination works but the other does not: Treat the outputs independently. Recheck the failing destination’s event, URL, key, and encoder output settings; a valid key for one service will not authenticate with the other.
- The stream becomes unstable when both outputs run: Check whether your connection can handle the sum of both target bitrates. YouTube’s example recommends upload capacity of 1.5–2 times the combined target. Test with the actual settings and watch the stream-health indicators rather than assuming a speed-test result guarantees a stable live feed.
- You need a temporary pause rather than a permanent end: Muvi says stopping from the encoder is appropriate for a temporary pause. Ending the event from the Muvi dashboard is permanent.
Copyright, archives, and live-event checks
Confirm that you have the rights to every element in the programme—including footage, music, still images, and clips—on both services. A stream accepted by an encoder is not proof that its content is cleared or that it complies with YouTube’s policies. Check current YouTube rules and any relevant Muvi account or content requirements before broadcasting, particularly for licensed or reused material.
