You can connect a cloud service to a YouTube Brand Account without sharing the Google Account password. First make sure the channel can livestream, then use YouTube Studio’s channel permissions to delegate access if the provider’s workflow requires it. In Live Control Room, create or select a stream and give the cloud encoder its stream destination and key—or follow the provider’s documented direct-authorization flow. Test the preview and public playback before relying on the continuous feed.
Before connecting a cloud service
Use the YouTube channel that will host the 24/7 feed. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and meet the platform’s minimum age requirement of 16. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check the channel’s status in YouTube Studio before configuring the cloud service. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and its encoder setup guide explain the requirements; interface details can change.
Give access to a Brand Account safely
A Brand Account does not change where the stream is created or where its key is found. It does affect how you should delegate channel access: YouTube directs Brand Account owners to use YouTube channel permissions rather than share Google Account credentials. This lets another person work on the channel without receiving the owner’s Google password.
- In YouTube Studio, open Settings, then Permissions.
- Follow YouTube’s current prompts to migrate Brand Account access to channel permissions if Studio asks you to do so.
- Invite the person who will configure or manage the stream and assign only the role needed for that work.
- Ask the cloud provider which role its particular authorization workflow requires. There is no universal role requirement for all third-party services.
If the service only needs an encoder destination and stream key, it may not need direct channel authorization at all. Do not grant broader access than the service’s documented workflow calls for.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Create the YouTube stream and provide its credentials
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Create a stream or select the stream you intend the cloud service to use. Check that the selected channel and stream are the intended ones.
- In the stream settings, find the stream URL and stream key. YouTube describes a stream key as the information that lets an encoder send a feed to YouTube and have it accepted.
- In the cloud service’s encoder or destination settings, enter the destination URL and key from Live Control Room. If the service uses direct YouTube authorization instead, follow its current instructions and verify the channel shown in the authorization flow.
- Save the configuration and start the cloud stream according to the provider’s instructions. Confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed.
Treat the stream key as a credential. YouTube Help puts it plainly: “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not post or send it through an unsecured channel. If it is exposed, reset or regenerate it in Live Control Room and update the cloud service with the replacement. YouTube’s live-stream settings guide covers stream keys and encoder settings.
Use RTMPS when the cloud encoder supports it
When Live Control Room provides an RTMPS destination and the service supports that protocol, use it rather than an unencrypted RTMP destination. YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP over a TLS/SSL connection that provides encryption. Confirm the protocol and URL in both YouTube and the provider’s encoder settings; do not assume every service supports RTMPS. YouTube’s RTMPS instructions explain the encrypted ingest option.

Test the feed and clear documentary rights
Check preview and playback
Wait for the stream preview in Live Control Room, then verify that the event is accessible from the channel and watch pages. Check that both picture and sound are present and that the intended playlist is running. YouTube recommends configuring the encoder in advance and monitoring stream quality continuously. Its networking guidance recommends maintaining 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; that is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. YouTube’s streaming tips provide setup and monitoring guidance.
Clear every item in the continuous playlist
A 24/7 playlist must be cleared for livestream use in its entirety, including music, archival footage, photographs, narration, and other third-party material. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; even a creator with a license can have a stream interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Check rights with the relevant owners and arrange any required allowlisting before going live. See YouTube’s Terms of Service and YouTube’s copyright guidance.

Troubleshoot common connection problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Check that the correct channel is verified and eligible, has no live-stream restriction in the prior 90 days, and has live streaming enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The encoder cannot connect: Recheck the selected stream, destination URL, and key for typos or stale values. Confirm whether the service expects RTMP or RTMPS and use a matching URL and protocol.
- The wrong channel is authorized: Stop and review the channel displayed in the provider’s authorization flow. Reconnect using the intended channel; for key-based setup, confirm that the key came from that channel’s Live Control Room.
- The preview appears but viewers cannot watch: Check the stream’s visibility and event settings, then open the channel or watch page as a viewer to confirm accessibility.
- Video or audio is missing: Check the cloud playlist and selected source, then verify picture and sound in the Live Control Room preview before relying on the stream.
- The stream is interrupted by a copyright claim: Identify the flagged material, confirm that the playlist has all required rights, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable. A license alone may not prevent interruption.
- The stream stops after a key change: Update the key in the cloud service after resetting it in YouTube. Keep the replacement private.
