To find which earned more on an Indian livestream, compare their feature-level amounts in YouTube Studio Analytics for the same content and date range—not the amounts viewers paid or the messages visible in chat.
What the 70% share means
YouTube applies the same stated share to Super Chat and Super Stickers. Its guidance says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees. YouTube says it currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. The percentage therefore is not a promise that a creator receives 70% of every displayed purchase price as final earnings. YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers guidance and the YouTube Partner earnings overview describe the revenue-share basis and agreement.
The features differ in presentation, not in the published revenue share: Super Chat highlights a live-chat message, which may include text; Super Stickers surface a digital or animated image in chat. A purchase’s value can affect its visual prominence or pinning, but that does not establish a different creator percentage.
Compare earnings in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics, then Revenue. YouTube’s revenue reporting help explains its revenue reports.
- Choose the livestream or content and the period you want to compare. Keep the content scope, dates and currency display consistent for both features.
- Find “How Supers make money.” Compare the separately reported Super Chat and Super Stickers amounts. The report also includes Super Thanks; do not include it in either feature’s total.
- Distinguish estimates from finalized earnings. Analytics may show estimated revenue. For settled amounts, check finalized AdSense for YouTube earnings and the Commerce Product Module terms in Studio. YouTube notes that finalized earnings can differ from Analytics estimates, including because of tax withholding.
This like-for-like comparison answers which feature generated more reported revenue for the chosen scope and period. It does not establish that one feature generally earns more across Indian channels.

Why a viewer’s purchase amount is not your payout
The viewer-facing purchase amount is not a reliable statement of the creator’s final proceeds. Local sales tax and, where applicable, iOS App Store fees affect the revenue base before the share is calculated; the rule also refers to revenue confirmed by Google. Do not estimate a final payout simply by multiplying a displayed purchase amount by 70%.
YouTube’s viewer guidance says purchases below US$5 or the local equivalent do not appear in the ticker. That is a visibility threshold, not evidence that those purchases earn the creator nothing. The ticker is a display; use Analytics and finalized earnings for revenue comparisons. YouTube’s purchase guidance describes the ticker threshold and viewer limits.

India availability and eligibility
India is on YouTube’s listed locations for Super Chat and Super Stickers, but availability depends on channel and content eligibility. Creators must meet YouTube’s fan-funding requirements, follow the applicable terms and accept the relevant Commerce Product Module. Confirm access in the Earn or Supers area of Studio rather than assuming every Indian channel or livestream qualifies.
YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted, private and made-for-kids videos, as well as YouTube Giving fundraiser videos, among the ineligible content. Supers also are unavailable when live chat or comments are turned off. Check YouTube’s eligibility, availability and policy page for the applicable conditions.

Do not confuse viewer limits with earnings rates
YouTube’s general guidance gives combined viewer purchase limits of up to US$2,000 per day and US$8,000 per week, or the equivalent in local currency, across certain Supers products and Jewels. These are general purchase caps, not an India-specific price schedule and not a creator payout formula. The same guidance says purchases below US$5 or local equivalent are omitted from the ticker; neither figure changes the shared revenue-share rule.
Keep an eligible livestream available
For a livestream, Supers comparison is useful only when the stream and its chat are eligible and available to viewers. - Comparing different streams or date ranges: A result is meaningful only when content scope and reporting period match.
- Treating ticker visibility as revenue: The under-US$5-equivalent rule concerns what appears in the ticker, not whether a purchase generates earnings.
