The service assigns the local affiliate automatically using location information from the viewing device and network. If the wrong station appears, verify that your plan includes local CBS, correct the location and network settings, and then contact Paramount+ support if necessary.
You generally cannot choose a different local CBS station manually in Paramount+. Paramount+ normally assigns the live CBS affiliate automatically from your device’s location information. If the app is showing the wrong station, correct the location and network issues first; if that does not work, contact Paramount+ support.
There is also a plan restriction: the Premium plan includes the local live CBS station, while Essential does not. Essential may include separate live sports or other programming feeds, but those are not a substitute for your local CBS affiliate.
How Paramount+ chooses your local CBS station
The local CBS feed is tied to the market where Paramount+ determines that you are watching. It is not normally a station preference saved in your account, and the service does not provide a general station picker for selecting any CBS affiliate nationwide.

The result can be affected by location permissions on the device, the geographic location associated with your internet connection, privacy features, or a device- or platform-specific problem. Paramount+ does not document every technical signal it uses, so changing one particular setting cannot be guaranteed to produce a specific station.
Fix a wrong local CBS station in Paramount+
1. Confirm that you have the Premium plan
Open your Paramount+ account or subscription details and verify that the subscription is Premium. Paramount+ identifies Premium as the plan that includes the local live CBS station. Essential does not include that local station.
If you are using Essential, changing location permissions or restarting your router will not add the local CBS feed. You would need to upgrade, if the local CBS feature is available for your market, or use a separate way to receive local CBS programming.
2. Allow Paramount+ to use your location
On the phone, tablet, or other device running Paramount+, turn on location services and make sure the Paramount+ app is allowed to use them. The exact menu names vary by operating system, but look in the device’s Settings under Privacy, Location, or Location Services.

After changing the permission:
- Fully close Paramount+.
- Restart the device.
- Open Paramount+ again and check the Live TV section.
On a TV or streaming device that does not expose an ordinary app location permission, continue with the network and device checks below.
3. Turn off iCloud Private Relay on an iPhone when applicable
Paramount+ specifically recommends disabling iCloud Private Relay on iPhone when the wrong local station appears. Private Relay can make network-location detection less straightforward.
Open the Apple ID or iCloud settings on the iPhone, turn off Private Relay, then restart the iPhone and test Paramount+ again. This is a troubleshooting step for location detection—not a supported way to select an out-of-market CBS affiliate.
4. Restart your modem or router
Disconnecting and restarting the modem or router can help when the public IP address for your internet connection is being associated with an inaccurate geographic area.

- Close the Paramount+ app on the viewing device.
- Restart the modem or router according to your internet provider’s instructions.
- Wait for the connection to return.
- Restart the Paramount+ app and check the local CBS feed.
A router restart is not guaranteed to change the station. It is one step in diagnosing a network-location mismatch, not a manual station-selection method.
5. Test another supported device or platform
Try Paramount+ on another supported device, such as a phone, tablet, smart TV, or streaming player, if one is available. Compare the result:
- Only one device shows the wrong station: the problem may involve that device’s permissions, software, location handling, or compatibility. Check for system and app updates and consult the device manufacturer when appropriate.
- Every device shows the wrong station: the issue is more likely related to the account, internet connection, or network-location data. Contact your internet provider or Paramount+ support as needed.
Using a different device can isolate the problem, but buying a new Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or other streaming stick does not guarantee access to a different CBS affiliate.
6. Contact Paramount+ support with the right details
If the station is still wrong after these checks, contact Paramount+ support. Give support enough information to distinguish a plan issue from a location or device problem:

- Your current ZIP code
- The CBS station your household should receive
- The CBS station currently appearing in Paramount+
- Your connection type, such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet
- Your public IP address
- The device model and operating system
Be specific about whether the incorrect station appears on one device or across all devices. Do not assume that changing the ZIP code in your billing profile will correct the feed; Paramount+’s documented troubleshooting guidance does not identify billing ZIP code as a supported station control.
What will not reliably change the Paramount+ station?

If you only need to watch local CBS
If your real goal is receiving your local CBS broadcast—not changing the station inside Paramount+—an indoor digital TV antenna may be a better alternative. An antenna receives over-the-air broadcasts independently of Paramount+, so it can provide local CBS when your home is within range and the signal is suitable.
Results depend on your market, distance from the transmitter, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and whether an indoor antenna is strong enough for your location. An antenna does not change Paramount+’s assigned affiliate and should be treated as a separate way to watch local CBS.
You can also investigate legitimate live-TV services that carry local CBS in your market. Local-channel availability is market-specific, so check the provider’s current channel lineup for your ZIP code before subscribing. Premium eligibility and local sports availability can likewise vary by market and may change over time.

Paramount+ normally assigns your local CBS station automatically rather than letting you choose one from a list. Verify Premium, enable location services, disable iCloud Private Relay on iPhone if relevant, restart the network and app, and test another device. If the wrong affiliate remains, send Paramount+ support your ZIP code, expected and current stations, connection type, public IP address, and device details. A VPN, billing-ZIP change, or new streaming stick is not a reliable station-switching solution.
