If ESPN charges you directly, sign in to ESPN from a web browser, open your profile, choose Account under Manage My Account, select Manage Subscription, choose the plan under Plans & Billing, then select Cancel and confirm.
If the cancellation option is missing, ESPN probably is not the company billing you. Apple, Google Play, Roku, Disney+, Hulu, and a pay-TV provider each use their own cancellation process. Current ESPN help pages may call the service ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited, although many subscribers still refer to it as ESPN+.
First: find out who bills your ESPN subscription
Before trying to cancel through ESPN, check your email receipts, bank statement, credit-card statement, or app-store purchase history. Look for the company processing the recurring payment:
| Billing party | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| ESPN | Your ESPN account in a web browser |
| Apple | Apple ID subscription settings |
| Google Play | Google Play subscriptions |
| Roku | Your Roku subscription-management page |
| Disney+ | Your Disney+ account, if the bundle is billed by Disney+ |
| Hulu | Hulu account settings or Hulu Support, if Hulu bills the bundle or add-on |
| Pay-TV provider | The television provider shown on your bill |
Being able to watch ESPN through an app does not necessarily mean ESPN processes the payment. The billing record—not the device on which you watch—is the best way to identify the correct cancellation path. ESPN’s current cancellation guidance says third-party subscriptions must be managed through the relevant third party.

Cancel a subscription billed directly by ESPN
- Open ESPN in a computer or mobile web browser and sign in to the ESPN account associated with the subscription.
- Select your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
- Under Manage My Account, select Account.
- Select Manage Subscription.
- Under Plans & Billing, select the active subscription.
- Select the plan you want to cancel, choose Cancel, and confirm the cancellation.
Save the confirmation screen or email. Also note the displayed end date, particularly if your plan is annual, promotional, prepaid, or part of a bundle.
If you cannot see “Manage Subscription” or “Cancel”
Do not assume the subscription has already been canceled. A missing button usually means one of the following:
- You are signed in to a different ESPN account.
- The subscription is billed by Apple, Google Play, Roku, Disney+, Hulu, or a pay-TV provider.
- You are looking at an account that has ESPN access through a provider rather than a separately billed ESPN subscription.
Check the original receipt and repeat the process using the account associated with that purchase.
Cancel ESPN through Apple
For an ESPN subscription purchased through the App Store:
- On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the ESPN subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If ESPN does not appear, check that you are using the Apple ID that made the purchase. Apple’s iPhone subscription instructions cover cancellation from the device’s Subscriptions screen. Menu labels can vary slightly by iOS version and region.
Cancel ESPN through Google Play
For a subscription purchased through Google Play:
- Open the Google Play subscriptions page while signed in to the Google Account used for the purchase.
- Select the ESPN subscription.
- Choose Manage.
- Select Cancel subscription.
- Choose a reason if Google asks, then select Continue and finish the confirmation steps.
Uninstalling the ESPN app does not cancel a Google Play subscription. If the subscription is not listed, switch Google accounts and check the account shown on your purchase receipt.

Cancel ESPN through Roku
If Roku bills the subscription, go to my.roku.com/subscriptions, sign in to the Roku account that made the purchase, select the relevant subscription, and turn off auto-renew or cancel it using the available control.
Removing the ESPN channel from a Roku device is not a reliable substitute for canceling the subscription. Roku’s subscription and refund guidance explains that turning off renewal before the next billing date prevents the next charge while generally preserving access through the paid period.

Cancel an ESPN bundle billed by Disney+
If ESPN access is part of a Disney+, Hulu, ESPN bundle and Disney+ is the billing party:
- Sign in to DisneyPlus.com.
- Open Profile.
- Select Account.
- Under Subscription, select the Disney+ subscription or bundle.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the confirmation steps.
Use Disney+’s official cancellation guidance for the current account labels and bundle rules.
Bundle cancellations require extra care. If you had an older ESPN, Hulu, or another subscription that was kept separately when the bundle was created, canceling the bundle may not cancel that separate subscription. Review your other receipts and accounts so you do not continue paying the original provider.
Cancel an ESPN bundle or add-on billed by Hulu
If Hulu appears on the charge or the bundle was purchased through Hulu, manage it through Hulu rather than ESPN or Disney+. Sign in to Hulu and review the account’s plan, add-ons, and subscription settings. If the relevant cancellation control is unavailable, contact Hulu Support. Disney+ specifically identifies Hulu-billed bundles as an exception that should be managed through Hulu.

Do not cancel a Disney+ subscription merely because ESPN is included in the package. Use the account of the company that actually bills the bundle.
Cancel ESPN access provided through a pay-TV company
Some television providers include ESPN access through an eligible provider plan. In that situation, the provider controls the charge and the applicable terms. Manage the television package through the provider’s website or contact its customer service department using the account number on your bill.
Canceling or changing an eligible provider plan can remove the associated ESPN access, but the exact result depends on the provider. ESPN’s pay-TV provider guidance confirms that provider-linked access is distinct from a directly billed ESPN subscription.
What happens after you cancel?
Cancellation generally stops the next renewal; it does not immediately terminate access. For a subscription billed directly by ESPN, ESPN says you normally keep using the service until the end of the current billing cycle and will not receive a refund or credit for an already-started partial period.

How to verify that cancellation worked
- Wait for the final confirmation page or email.
- Check the subscription page again and look for a cancellation status or an end date.
- Confirm that auto-renewal is off in the account of the actual billing party.
- Save a screenshot showing the confirmation and effective date.
- Check your next statement to make sure no later renewal was processed.
Signing out of ESPN, deleting the app, or stopping use of the service is not proof that recurring billing has ended.

Troubleshooting: why you may still see ESPN charges
“I deleted the app, but I was charged.”
App deletion does not cancel billing. Use Apple Subscriptions, Google Play, Roku’s subscription page, or the direct provider account that appears on the receipt.
“ESPN says I have no subscription.”
You may have signed in with the wrong ESPN account, or ESPN may not be the biller. Search your email for the purchase receipt and check the exact Apple ID, Google Account, Roku account, Disney+ account, Hulu account, or provider account used at signup.

That is normally expected when cancellation prevents renewal at the end of the paid billing period. Check the cancellation confirmation and end date rather than using continued access as evidence that cancellation failed.
“The bundle still appears active.”
Check each subscription independently. A bundle may coexist with a separate older subscription, and canceling one billing relationship may not cancel another. Review Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, app-store, Roku, and pay-TV records as applicable.
“I want a refund.”
For direct ESPN subscriptions, ESPN states that partially used billing periods generally are not refunded or credited. If Apple, Google Play, Roku, Disney+, Hulu, or a television provider processed the payment, contact that company and follow its refund policy; cancellation and refund requests are separate actions.

No. Canceling the subscription stops future renewal according to the billing party’s terms; it does not delete the ESPN account. You can usually continue using any account features that do not require an active paid plan.

Quick cancellation checklist
- Identify the company on the recurring charge.
- Sign in to the matching account, not merely the account currently open in the ESPN app.
- Cancel through that company’s subscription controls.
- Do not rely on uninstalling or deleting an app.
- Record the confirmation and end date.
- Check for separate subscriptions created before a bundle.
- Review the next statement for an unexpected renewal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel ESPN+ from the ESPN app?
The most reliable direct-ESPN route is ESPN’s account page in a computer or mobile web browser: profile picture, Account, Manage Subscription, Plans & Billing, the plan, Cancel. If another company bills you, cancel through that company instead.
Will I get a refund when I cancel ESPN+?
Direct ESPN subscriptions generally do not receive refunds or credits for a partially used billing period. A third-party biller may have a different refund policy, so contact the company that processed the charge.
Do I lose ESPN immediately after canceling?
Usually not. Direct ESPN, Google Play, and Roku cancellations generally stop the next renewal while preserving access through the already-paid billing period. Check the confirmation screen for the applicable end date.
Why can’t I find my ESPN subscription?
You may be using the wrong ESPN, Apple, Google, Roku, Disney+, or Hulu account, or the subscription may be billed by a pay-TV provider. Check the original purchase receipt and use the account and billing party shown there.

The Bottom Line
Cancel ESPN+ through the company charging you. For direct ESPN billing, use Account → Manage Subscription → Plans & Billing → Cancel in a web browser. For Apple, Google Play, Roku, Disney+, Hulu, or pay-TV billing, use that provider’s subscription controls. Save the confirmation, because cancellation normally stops the next renewal rather than ending access immediately.
