On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Apple Music → Cancel Subscription, then confirm. If Apple Music is not listed, first check who is billing you: Apple, Google Play, your wireless carrier, or another provider. The correct cancellation route depends on the billing source.
If you are using a free or discounted trial, Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid renewal. (Apple Support)

Cancel Apple Music on an iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Apple Music.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
- Follow the confirmation prompts.
If there is no Cancel Subscription button and you see an expiration message in red, Apple says the subscription is already canceled. (Apple Support)
Cancel Apple Music on a Mac
- Open the App Store.
- Click your name in the sidebar. If it is not shown, click Sign In.
- Select Account Settings.
- Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage.
- Select Apple Music.
- Click Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If the cancellation button is missing, the subscription may already be canceled. Check the expiration information shown on the account screen.

Cancel Apple Music on a Windows PC
For current versions of Windows, use the Apple Music or Apple TV app:
- Open the Apple Music app or Apple TV app.
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Choose View My Account and sign in if prompted.
- Scroll to Settings.
- Next to Subscriptions, click Manage.
- Find Apple Music and click Edit.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
If you use an older version of iTunes, choose Account → View My Account, scroll to Settings, click Manage beside Subscriptions, select Apple Music, click Edit, and then choose Cancel Subscription. (Apple Support)
Cancel Apple Music on Android
Android users must identify who bills the subscription.

If Google Play bills you
Open the Google Play app and cancel the subscription from Google Play’s subscription settings. Apple Music subscriptions billed through Google Play cannot be canceled from Apple’s subscription screen. (Google Play Help)

Cancel Apple Music online
For an Apple-billed subscription, visit account.apple.com, sign in, and manage the subscription from your account. Simply visiting the Apple Music listening website does not cancel the subscription.

How to check who is billing you
Search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple.” The receipt identifies the Apple Account associated with the subscription. If you cannot find an Apple receipt, inspect your bank or card statement for the company charging you.
The billing source may be:
- Apple Account or App Store billing
- Google Play billing
- A wireless carrier
- Another subscription provider or bundle partner
If the statement names a carrier, Google Play, or another provider, cancel through that provider rather than continuing to search Apple’s settings. Apple notes that subscription instructions can vary in some countries and regions, including Germany, Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye. These instructions primarily describe the U.S. experience. What to do if Apple Music does not appear under Subscriptions
- Search for an Apple receipt using “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple.”
- Check which Apple Account appears on the receipt.
- Sign in to that Apple Account and check Subscriptions.
- If you use multiple Apple Accounts, check each one.
- Review your bank or card statement for Google Play, a carrier, or another provider.
- Ask the family member whose account appears on the receipt to cancel it.
- If you still cannot identify the charge, contact the billing company or Apple Support.
A subscription may also be missing because it is already canceled, the charge is not actually for Apple Music, or the billing record has not yet appeared. A family member cannot cancel another family member’s subscription, even when Family Sharing is enabled. (Apple Support)

Apple Music, Apple One, and family plans
Apple One
Do not assume that canceling an individual Apple Music listing cancels Apple One. Apple Music may be part of an Apple One bundle, in which case the subscription screen may show the bundle rather than a standalone music plan. Cancel the exact plan listed under Subscriptions, and review the resulting expiration information.
Family plans
The person who uses Apple Music is not necessarily the person who controls the subscription. Check the receipt: the Apple Account shown there is the account that must manage cancellation. A family organizer should not assume that every family subscription can be canceled from the organizer’s own account.

Cancellation generally stops automatic renewal; it does not necessarily remove access immediately. If the subscription has already been paid for, it normally remains available until the current period ends. Confirm the expiration date displayed on the subscription screen, because access and billing presentation can vary by region and billing arrangement.

Apple Music catalog downloads are subscription content, not permanent purchases. After the entitlement ends, you should not expect downloaded Apple Music tracks to remain playable. Music you personally purchased or imported is different from subscription catalog content.
Playlists and library information may not follow one universal retention schedule after cancellation. Do not rely on Apple Music as a backup: Apple explicitly says Apple Music is not a backup service. Preserve personal music files independently if they matter to you. (Apple Support)
Charged after trying to cancel?
First verify that cancellation was completed:
- Reopen Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or the equivalent account-management page.
- Look for an expiration date or a red expiration message.
- Compare the charge date with the listed renewal date.
- Check whether another Apple Account or a family member’s account was billed.
- Confirm whether the charge came from Google Play, a carrier, or another provider.
- Review your Apple purchase history.
A charge labeled apple.com/bill is not necessarily Apple Music; it may represent an app, subscription, media purchase, or another Apple service. Use Apple’s purchase-history guidance to identify it. (Apple Support)
Cancellation and refunds are separate. Canceling stops future renewal but does not automatically refund an existing charge.

For an Apple-billed charge, request a refund separately at reportaproblem.apple.com:
- Sign in.
- Choose I’d like to.
- Select Request a refund.
- Choose a reason.
- Select the subscription or purchase.
- Submit the request.
Eligibility varies by country or region, so approval is not guaranteed. Apple says an update may take 24–48 hours, while an approved refund may take additional time to reach the payment method. (Apple Support)
