Connect the service if prompted. Spotify puts saved tracks in Your Library → Liked Songs; Apple Music may offer a library or playlist destination. This mobile feature matches an eligible TikTok sound to a track in a streaming catalog—it does not download the TikTok audio or guarantee the exact same edit.
Add a TikTok song to Spotify
Spotify documents the TikTok connection for Free and Premium users on mobile. Install Spotify on your phone and sign in before connecting it. TikTok’s button labels can vary; you may see “Add song to music app,” “Add Song,” or a Spotify button.
Connect Spotify for the first time
- In TikTok, open Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Music, then choose Spotify. Spotify also documents a video-based route: open a TikTok video with licensed music, tap Add song to music app, choose Spotify, and tap Agree when Spotify opens. See Spotify’s TikTok connection instructions.
- Return to a TikTok video with the song you want. Tap the song title or sound at the bottom of the video to open its sound details, then tap the Spotify or add-song control.
- After the connection is authorized, use the Spotify control on eligible tracks to save them. Spotify says these tracks go to Liked Songs without requiring you to leave TikTok.
Find the saved song
In Spotify, open Your Library → Liked Songs. TikTok’s launch information also identifies Liked Songs as Spotify’s default destination. TikTok’s Add to Music App announcement
Add a TikTok song to Apple Music
Install Apple Music and sign in, then open the TikTok sound page and choose Add song to music app, Add Song, or Apple Music when it appears. Authorize the connection if asked. TikTok’s general Add to Music App feature supports Apple Music, but the destination may depend on the save flow: follow any prompt to choose a default, new, or existing playlist rather than assuming every save goes to one fixed location. Distinguish saving from Play Full Song
- Add Song / Add to Music App saves a matched catalog track to a music service for later listening.
- Play Full Song is a separate TikTok–Apple Music experience announced on March 11, 2026. TikTok describes it as a way for Apple Music subscribers to start full-length playback through Apple Music; availability may vary. TikTok’s Apple Music announcement
- Open in Apple Music may open the matching track without saving it. Use this sound keeps you in TikTok and does not add a streaming-library track.
Find the song in Apple Music
Check Library → Recently Added, Library → Songs, and Library → Playlists, including the playlist you selected during the TikTok flow. If you favorited the song, check Favorite Songs; Apple documents that playlist under Library → Playlists. Apple’s guide to favorites
If you need to place the track in a different playlist, Apple Music’s More menu includes Add to Playlist. Save a TikTok song to a specific playlist
If TikTok offers a destination choice, select the playlist you want during the save flow. If it does not, save the track first, then move it in the streaming app: in Spotify, add it to a playlist from Liked Songs; in Apple Music, use the song’s More menu and choose Add to Playlist. Check the title and artist before adding it, because the matched version may differ from the TikTok sound.
Why the Add Song button may be missing
The integration is for eligible, identifiable catalog music, not every sound on TikTok. A missing control can mean the video uses an original sound, an unofficial edit, or audio that is not matched to a streaming release. Regional licensing, catalog availability, muted or removed sounds, app versions, account eligibility, and rollout differences can also affect what appears. - Tap the sound title to open the sound-detail page and check for the add control there.
- Try another video using the same official track, if one is available.
- Make sure the target music app is installed and signed in, then update TikTok and the music app.
- In TikTok, check Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Music for the connected service. If authorization seems stuck, disconnect and reconnect it.
- If the button still does not appear, search the title and artist directly in Spotify or Apple Music. A licensing or catalog limitation may not be fixable through settings.
Why the saved recording may differ from the TikTok sound
TikTok can match a video’s sound to a catalog recording, but the clip may be an official master, a cover, a remix, a sped-up or pitch-shifted edit, a mashup, or a user-uploaded original sound. The streaming service may therefore save the standard release rather than the precise audio heard in the video. Compare the artist, album artwork, and track version before keeping it in a playlist. If you want a particular live, clean, or remix version, search for that version manually.

Spotify’s documented TikTok connection is for mobile, and the save control is built around TikTok’s phone video and sound interface. Use the TikTok and streaming apps on an iPhone or Android phone for the direct workflow. On desktop, open the TikTok sound page, note the title and artist, search for the official recording in Spotify or Apple Music, and add it to Liked Songs, your library, or a playlist.

Can you move a collection of TikTok discoveries at once?
TikTok’s integration is intended for saving individual discoveries, not importing a TikTok history as a batch. Save tracks individually as you find them, using a playlist as the destination when the flow allows. Apple’s transfer option can move music from supported third-party services on iPhone with iOS 18.4 or later and Sync Library enabled; it does not import TikTok sounds directly.
