To show several prerecorded videos in one StreamYard YouTube broadcast, open the live studio and choose Present > Video file. Add up to 10 local videos, then play each one manually when it is time. The queue is not an autoplay playlist. If you need a video to start automatically at a scheduled time, use StreamYard’s separate Pre-recorded video broadcast workflow, which schedules one video.
Choose the right StreamYard workflow
| Your goal | Use | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Present several video segments during a hosted live show | Live studio: Present > Video file | Queue up to 10 videos and manually start each one. [StreamYard Help Center] |
| Start a prerecorded stream automatically at a scheduled time | Pre-recorded video broadcast | Schedule one uploaded or past video; it starts without you entering the studio. [StreamYard Help Center] |
| Use a short recurring intro or outro | StreamYard’s video clips or automatic intro/outro feature | This is a separate feature with its own limits and plan availability, not the long-form video queue. [StreamYard Help Center] |
The steps below cover the first option: you host a live studio show, send it to YouTube, and trigger each prerecorded segment yourself.
Prepare your files and YouTube destination
- Have the video files available on the computer you’ll use to run the StreamYard studio. StreamYard says MP4 and MOV work best for local video sharing. [StreamYard Help Center]
- Create or open a live studio broadcast and select your YouTube channel as a destination. If it is not connected, add it as a destination first. [StreamYard Help Center]
- Arrange your files in the intended order before the show. The queue supports up to 10 videos, but it will not advance or play them automatically.
Add multiple videos in the live studio
- In the studio, select Present > Video file.
- Choose a local video file. It is added to the stream automatically unless you have disabled that behavior in the studio settings.
- Repeat the same process for each additional clip, up to 10 queued videos.
- When you are ready to show a clip, hover over the shared video and use the controls to play, pause, scrub, change its volume, or mute it. You can change the studio layout and speak over the video as needed. [StreamYard Help Center]
- Start the YouTube broadcast and manually play each video in the planned sequence.
Keep queued videos off air until you trigger them
If you want to add files to the studio without putting them on screen immediately, open Settings > General and turn off Automatically add shared screens/videos to stream before adding the videos. You can then bring each shared video into the stream when needed. [StreamYard Help Center]
Know what the video queue does—and does not do
- Manual playback: StreamYard’s Help Center says you can queue multiple videos, up to 10, and manually play each sequentially. They do not autoplay like a playlist. [StreamYard Help Center]
- Session-bound files: Videos shared this way are not saved as account media. If you leave the studio or refresh it, they are removed and need to be added again. [StreamYard Help Center]
- Audio: StreamYard’s article says long-form shared video audio is output in mono, so stereo is compressed to a mono track. [StreamYard Help Center]
- File length and size: The local studio-sharing article states there is no file size or length limit for this feature. That statement does not apply to uploaded videos in the scheduled prerecorded workflow. [StreamYard Help Center]
Scheduled studio show versus scheduled prerecorded stream
Scheduling a studio broadcast creates a scheduled post, but it does not start the studio show unattended: StreamYard’s instructions say the host still enters the studio and clicks Go Live at broadcast time. A scheduled prerecorded video is different; it starts at the selected time without the host entering the studio. [StreamYard Help Center] [StreamYard Help Center]

When the YouTube link appears
For scheduled prerecorded streams, StreamYard says the YouTube link becomes available at the scheduled announcement-post time, or when the stream goes live if there is no announcement. If viewers need the link earlier, set an earlier announcement time. [StreamYard Help Center]
Troubleshoot common problems
- A video starts as soon as you add it: Turn off Automatically add shared screens/videos to stream in Settings > General before adding files.
- The clips will not advance by themselves: That is expected. The queue is manual; hover over the next video and click play when you want it on air.
- Your files disappeared after a refresh or after leaving the studio: Shared videos are session material, not saved account media. Reopen the studio and add them again.
- The video audio sounds different from the stereo file: Long-form shared-video audio is output in mono according to StreamYard’s help article.
- A scheduled prerecorded upload is rejected or has trouble uploading: Check that the file is within the size, duration, and 10 Mbps upload-bitrate limits for your plan. StreamYard mentions HandBrake as one possible compression option for upload or lag issues; it is optional, not required for studio file sharing. [StreamYard Help Center]
- A scheduled studio broadcast does not start on its own: Enter the studio and click Go Live. Only the separate scheduled prerecorded-video workflow is documented to start unattended.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is an always-on YouTube stream of uploaded videos rather than a host-run broadcast with manually triggered clips, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay running at home. It streams the files as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
