To add background music to a 24/7 YouTube playlist stream from the cloud, prepare videos with the music already mixed into their audio, then upload and loop those audiovisual files in a cloud encoder. Use a separate music playlist only if the chosen service explicitly documents an audio-mixing feature. Before streaming, verify that your music license covers live use, the relevant territories, monetization if applicable, and archived replays.
How cloud music streaming works
A cloud encoder sends a live program to YouTube on your behalf. You create or schedule the live stream in YouTube Studio, then give the encoder YouTube’s server URL and stream key. The encoder runs remotely rather than on your computer. YouTube’s live encoder guidance describes this workflow and lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams; that listing is not an endorsement beyond inclusion among verified encoders.
A playlist of prerecorded videos is not necessarily a mixer. The available YouTube guidance and encoder listing do not establish that every cloud service can combine a separate audio-only playlist with a separate video playlist. If the service does not document that capability, the practical workaround is to mix the music into each video file before uploading. That recommendation follows from the encoder-feed and prerecorded-playlist models; it is not a tested feature claim about a particular service.
Prepare the music and video
Use a composed audiovisual file unless separate mixing is documented
- Choose the video clips you want to play in the continuous program.
- Mix the background music into each clip using an editing tool, then export the resulting audiovisual files.
- Check the exported files by playing them from beginning to end. Confirm that the music is audible, levels are appropriate, and transitions do not create unintended silence or abrupt cuts.
- Upload those files to a cloud service that accepts their formats and can loop a playlist continuously.
If a service advertises an independent audio playlist or mixer, check its current documentation for supported audio formats, whether audio loops independently of video, how it handles transitions, and what happens if one playlist ends or a file fails. Do not assume those behaviors from the phrase “24/7 streaming.”

Clear rights for the exact use
Buying or possessing a recording does not by itself grant permission to broadcast it. YouTube’s Livestream Terms and Conditions require the operator to have the necessary rights for the live content, including relevant music licensing rights. Ask the licensor whether permission covers YouTube live streaming, your intended territories, monetization if applicable, and the stream’s archive or replay. Keep the license and its terms.
A license alone may not prevent an interruption. YouTube says creators using licensed third-party content should ask the rights owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. Persistent matches can interrupt or terminate a live stream, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. See YouTube’s guidance on live streams and copyrighted content and coordinate with the rights holder before going live.

Set up the YouTube stream and cloud encoder
- Confirm live access. If your channel has not streamed before, check YouTube Studio for any live-streaming activation or eligibility requirements before scheduling the broadcast.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Schedule or create the stream and locate the stream server URL and stream key in its stream settings.
- Configure the cloud encoder. Select the prepared audiovisual playlist, enable continuous looping if the service offers that option, and enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Use the service’s current documentation for its exact field names and controls.
- Preview before going live. Confirm the intended video and music appear together, check that the audio is audible, and verify YouTube receives the expected feed before starting the broadcast.
- Monitor notices and stream health. Watch YouTube Studio for warnings or restrictions. Be ready to remove or replace a track if a rights issue appears; if the stream is interrupted, check Studio for copyright notices, strikes, or other restrictions.
Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your live stream. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the cloud encoder with the replacement.

Plan for recovery and archived replays
Before choosing a provider, confirm that it can keep a playlist running continuously and explain how it reconnects or restarts after an encoder or YouTube connection failure. Recovery behavior varies by service, so do not treat an advertised continuous-playback feature as proof of a particular restart policy.
Plan the replay separately from the live broadcast. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived in its encoder guidance; do not assume that a 24/7 broadcast will become one uninterrupted archived video. Check how YouTube and your encoder handle the ongoing stream, and make sure your music permission covers any resulting replay.
