Add the product name and price as a separate source layered above your demo video in OBS. For a fixed label, use a text source; for a custom design or animation, use a Browser Source. Keeping the label separate lets you update the price without editing the video.

Add the name and price in OBS
- Open the demo scene. Use the scene that already contains your demo video, or create a dedicated scene for the product demo.
- Add the label as its own source. In the Sources area, add a text source for a simple, fixed name and price. If you need a custom web layout or animation, add a Browser Source instead. OBS documents Browser Source as able to load either a local file or a URL. OBS Browser Source documentation
- Set Browser Source dimensions if you use one. Adjust its width and height to suit the stream canvas. OBS documentation lists 800 by 600 as the default browser viewport and 30 FPS as the default frame rate; those are defaults for the source, not required YouTube stream settings. - Put the label above the demo video. Arrange the label source above the video source in the Sources stack so it renders on top. Position and size it in the OBS preview, keeping it inside the output frame and clear of important product details.
- Make it readable at small sizes. Choose sufficient contrast and text size for viewers watching on smaller screens. These are practical design choices, not platform-mandated dimensions.
- Keep the video looping separately. If the demo is a file, check that the media source’s loop control is enabled. The exact property label can vary by installed OBS version; the OBS Browser Source documentation does not specify it.
- Preview and verify before going live. Check that the full scene displays the correct product name, price, and currency, then test the overlay before broadcasting. YouTube’s guidance for its own break overlay recommends testing from Live Control Room; that specific workflow concerns a break overlay, not a product label. YouTube overlay guidance
Keep the overlay accurate when the offer changes
Because the demo and label are separate sources, you can change the displayed price or product name without re-editing the video. Before each broadcast, confirm the exact price and currency in the label against the offer you intend to show. If you use a hosted Browser Source, also make sure its page is available and displaying the intended information.
What a promo widget does—and does not do
Meld advertises a free YouTube Promo Widget for promoting a latest YouTube upload in OBS through its Spark Plug plugin. Its page says the promo appears for 30 seconds and repeats every 10 minutes. That describes upload promotion, not a general widget for arbitrary product names and prices, so do not treat it as a replacement unless its current features meet that need. Meld YouTube Promo Widget
