To activate Paramount+ on Apple TV, Fire TV Stick (Firestick), Roku, or compatible Xfinity equipment, install the official app, select Sign In, and either enter your Paramount+ credentials on the TV or activate with the code shown on screen. The steps below reflect current device-specific activation routes; the original 2024 wording is outdated because app labels and support instructions can change.
To activate Paramount+ on Apple TV, Fire TV Stick (Firestick), Roku, or compatible Xfinity equipment, install the official Paramount+ app, choose Sign In, and either enter your Paramount+ credentials on the television or use the device’s activation code at the correct Paramount+ website. You do not need a new subscription if you already have a Paramount+ account.
Use your Paramount+ email address and password—not your Apple ID, Amazon account, or Xfinity login—unless you subscribed through one of those providers and are intentionally using that provider’s billing arrangement.
Before you begin
- Have an active Paramount+ subscription, or be ready to create one.
- Know the email address and password for your Paramount+ account.
- Connect the streaming device to the internet.
- Install or add the official Paramount+ app.
- If using code activation, have a phone or computer available.
Paramount+ normally gives you two sign-in choices:
- On My TV: type your Paramount+ email and password with the remote.
- On the Web: use a phone or computer to open the device-specific activation page, enter the code shown on the TV, and select Activate.
The code is associated with the current app session. If you leave the activation screen and return later, use the new code currently displayed on your television rather than an older code.

How to activate Paramount+ on Apple TV
- Open the App Store on your Apple TV and install the official Paramount+ app, or open it if it is already installed.
- Launch Paramount+ and select Sign In.
- Choose On My TV to type your Paramount+ email and password directly.
- Alternatively, choose On the Web and note the activation code shown on the screen.
- On a phone or computer, open paramountplus.com/appletv.
- Sign in if prompted, enter the code from your Apple TV, and select Activate.
- Return to the Apple TV. The app should refresh and let you stream.
Use your Paramount+ login here—not the Apple ID used to download apps or manage the Apple TV. Paramount’s signup documentation identifies Apple TV 4 running tvOS and Apple TV 5/4K as supported signup platforms, but that does not establish support for every older Apple TV generation. If you have a legacy model, check whether the current Paramount+ app is available before buying or troubleshooting anything.
If you do not already own compatible Apple TV hardware, an Apple TV 4K is an optional way to add the Apple TV Paramount+ app to a television. It is not required if you already have a supported Apple TV, smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, or Xfinity device.
How to activate Paramount+ on Firestick or Fire TV
- On your Fire TV home screen, open the Amazon Appstore.
- Search for Paramount+ and install the official app.
- Open Paramount+ and select Sign In.
- Choose On My TV to enter your Paramount+ email and password with the remote, or choose On the Web to display an activation code.
- On a phone or computer, open paramountplus.com/firetv.
- Sign in if requested, enter the current code shown on the Fire TV, and select Activate.
- Wait for the Fire TV app to refresh, then choose a program to begin watching.
“Firestick” is the common consumer name for compatible Amazon Fire TV streaming hardware. In the standalone Paramount+ app, enter your Paramount+ credentials, not the password for your Amazon account.
Do not confuse the standalone Paramount+ app with the Paramount+ channel inside Prime Video. They can involve different app flows and billing arrangements. If you subscribed to the Prime Video Channel, follow the Prime Video channel’s sign-in and account-management process rather than assuming that a separate Paramount+ subscription exists.

How to activate Paramount+ on Roku
- From the Roku home screen, select Streaming Store or Search, depending on your Roku interface.
- Find and add the official Paramount+ channel/app.
- Open Paramount+ and select Sign In.
- Choose On My TV and enter your Paramount+ email and password, or choose On the Web to receive an activation code.
- On a phone or computer, visit paramountplus.com/roku.
- Sign in if prompted, enter the code displayed by Roku, and select Activate.
- Wait for the Roku app to refresh and start streaming.
Roku support and channel availability can vary by country. The steps above are intended primarily for U.S. viewers; international users may see different availability, labels, or subscription options.

If your television lacks Roku or another supported smart-TV platform, a Roku Streaming Stick is an optional HDMI-and-Wi-Fi device that can add streaming apps. It is not necessary for anyone who already owns a compatible Roku TV or Roku player.
How to activate Paramount+ on Xfinity
Paramount+ is available on certain compatible Xfinity devices, including supported X1 equipment, Xumo Stream Box, and Xfinity Flex models. Not every Xfinity box supports the app.
- Open the Apps menu on your compatible Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Xfinity Flex device.
- Select Paramount+. On supported equipment, you can also say “Paramount+” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.
- Open the app and select Sign In.
- Choose On My TV to enter your Paramount+ email and password, or choose On the Web to display an activation code.
- On a phone or computer, visit paramountplus.com/xfinity.
- Sign in if prompted, enter the code shown on the Xfinity screen, and select Activate.
- The Xfinity screen should confirm the login and allow you to watch.
Xfinity equipment limitations
Do not assume that every historical Xfinity box can run Paramount+. Xfinity lists exclusions that include certain older RNG150, Pace Xi3, Samsung XG2v2, Arris XG1v1, Pace XG1v1, and Pace Xi5 equipment. If Paramount+ is missing from the Apps menu, the box may be unsupported rather than improperly activated. Check the current Xfinity compatibility information or use another supported device.
Who manages the Xfinity subscription?
- If you sign up through an Xfinity X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box, Xfinity bills and manages that subscription.
- If you already subscribe directly to Paramount+, you can use those Paramount+ credentials on Xfinity, while Paramount remains responsible for managing the subscription.

What to do if the Paramount+ activation code does not appear
- Confirm that you opened the official Paramount+ app, not a similarly named channel or another streaming service.
- Install any available app update.
- Close and reopen Paramount+, then choose Sign In and On the Web again.
- Confirm that the device or Xfinity box is a supported model and that it is connected to the internet.
- Use the code from the current activation screen. Do not reuse a code from an earlier attempt.
- If the app still follows the sign-in instructions but produces no code, contact Paramount support. Paramount specifically directs users to support in this situation.
Restarting the app and checking for updates are sensible first steps, but they are not a guarantee of resolution. Similarly, do not assume that clearing app data or cache will fix every activation problem. Those steps can remove saved app information and may require you to sign in again.
Common activation and billing mistakes
Using the wrong account
An Apple ID, Amazon account, Roku account, and Paramount+ account are not automatically the same account. In the Paramount+ app, start with the email and password associated with Paramount+.

Confusing Prime Video with the standalone Paramount+ app
A Paramount+ subscription purchased as a Prime Video Channel is handled through Prime Video. It should not be treated as identical to a direct Paramount+ subscription simply because both provide Paramount+ programming.

Billing usually follows the company through which the subscription was purchased. Paramount says subscriptions bought through Apple, Amazon, or Roku generally must be managed through that platform. Xfinity-billed subscriptions are managed through the relevant Xfinity equipment or account flow. Activating the app on a different device does not automatically transfer billing responsibility.
Assuming a new subscription is required
An existing Paramount+ subscriber can sign in on another supported connected device. Activation links the app to the existing account; it does not, by itself, require purchasing a second subscription.
If you do not have a compatible streaming device
You only need additional hardware if your television does not already provide a supported Paramount+ platform. Depending on your setup, an optional Fire TV Stick, Roku Streaming Stick, or Apple TV 4K can connect through HDMI and provide access to the app. Check device compatibility before buying, especially if you are considering an older model. A compatible Xfinity TV box is another possible route for eligible Xfinity customers, but Xfinity equipment exclusions apply.

New subscribers: choose the billing route carefully
If you do not yet have Paramount+, decide where you want the subscription managed before signing up. A direct Paramount+ subscription and subscriptions obtained through Apple, Amazon, Roku, Prime Video, or Xfinity may have different account-management paths. After subscribing, use the credentials and activation process associated with that purchase route.

Do I need a new Paramount+ subscription to activate another device?
No. An existing Paramount+ subscriber can sign in on another supported Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, or Xfinity device. A second subscription is not required merely to activate another device.
Which password should I use to activate Paramount+?
Use your Paramount+ email address and password. Do not use your Apple ID, Amazon account password, Roku login, or Xfinity credentials unless the app or provider is specifically directing you through a provider-managed subscription flow.
Is Paramount+ in Prime Video the same as the Paramount+ app?
No. A Prime Video Channel subscription is separate from the standalone Paramount+ app experience. If you subscribed through Prime Video, use Prime Video’s channel and account-management process.

Can every Xfinity box run Paramount+?
Not necessarily. Xfinity supports Paramount+ only on compatible equipment, and some older RNG150, Pace Xi3, Samsung XG2v2, Arris XG1v1, Pace XG1v1, and Pace Xi5 boxes are listed as exclusions.
What should I do if the Paramount+ activation code does not appear?
Check that the official app is installed and current, reopen the app, confirm that the device is supported and online, and request a new code. If no code appears after following the app’s sign-in instructions, contact Paramount support.
The Bottom Line
The reliable process is the same on all four platforms: install the official Paramount+ app, select Sign In, use your Paramount+ credentials or the current on-screen code, and activate through the device-specific Paramount+ URL. The major exceptions are provider billing, Prime Video channel confusion, regional availability, and unsupported older hardware—particularly some Xfinity boxes.
