To activate Lifetime, open the official Lifetime app, choose a locked video, and use the displayed code at mylifetime.com/activate. Select your device and participating U.S. TV provider, enter the code, then sign in through the provider. This links the app to an existing subscription that includes the Lifetime channel; it is not a separate “MyLifetime” paid membership.
What MyLifetime activation actually does
Activation verifies that your cable, satellite or live-TV streaming package includes Lifetime and authorizes locked episodes, movies, live programming or other provider-restricted videos. Lifetime says its provider authentication does not access your provider username, password, email address or unrelated account information; verification is handled through the provider’s sign-in page (Lifetime provider authentication).
Unlocked videos do not require activation. Lifetime does not offer a general direct subscription that unlocks all website and app content. A separate Lifetime Movie Club subscription is movie-focused and is not a replacement for the live Lifetime channel.
What you need before starting
- The Lifetime app or Lifetime website on an internet-connected device.
- A current activation code shown by the app after you select locked content.
- A U.S.-based participating TV provider.
- A TV package that includes the Lifetime channel. Internet-only or phone-only service normally does not qualify.
- The provider username and password, or access to the provider’s account-recovery process.
Lifetime currently lists Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, Chromecast, iPhone, iPad and Android devices (supported Lifetime apps). Availability and menus can vary by device software version.

Activate Lifetime: the exact steps
- Open the Lifetime app.
- Select a locked episode, movie or other locked video.
- Choose Activate, Sign In or the equivalent TV-provider option.
- Write down the activation code exactly as displayed.
- On a phone or computer, open
https://www.mylifetime.com/activate. - Select your device category.
- Select your TV provider.
- Enter the activation code and select Continue.
- Complete authentication on the provider’s website using the account tied to your TV package.
- Return to the Lifetime app and wait for it to refresh.
- Reopen the locked video. If it remains locked, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Install the app by device
Roku
- Press Home on the Roku remote.
- Open the Roku Channel Store.
- Search for Lifetime under Movies & TV.
- Select the official channel and download it.
- Open Lifetime from My Channels, then select locked content to generate a code.

Amazon Fire TV
- Open the apps area.
- Choose the Entertainment category or search for Lifetime.
- Select the official Lifetime app, install it and open it.
- Start a locked video to display the code.

Apple TV
- Update Apple TV if an update is available.
- From the home screen, browse or search for Lifetime.
- Install or open the app.
- Select locked content and begin provider authentication.

Android TV and Samsung TV
Open the device’s app store, search for the official Lifetime app, install it, and select a locked title. Follow the on-screen prompt to obtain the activation code, then use the activation page on another device.
iPhone, iPad, Android and Chromecast
Install Lifetime from the relevant app store. Mobile users may be able to authenticate directly inside the app rather than entering a code on a television. Chromecast support is also listed by Lifetime; the phone and Chromecast must be connected according to the casting prompts. Device availability is documented at mylifetime.com/apps.

Which TV providers can authenticate?
Lifetime support identifies cable and satellite providers such as Xfinity, Spectrum, Verizon Fios, Cox, Optimum, DIRECTV, Dish and local cable companies, plus streaming live-TV services including Frndly TV, Philo, Hulu + Live TV and DIRECTV STREAM. A provider’s appearance on a general list does not guarantee access: it must participate in Lifetime app authentication and your specific package must carry Lifetime (provider availability guidance).
Sling requires special handling
Sling may carry Lifetime programming, but Lifetime’s authentication information says Sling credentials cannot currently be used to sign in to Lifetime’s apps and website. Sling customers should watch through Sling.com or Sling’s apps rather than assuming mylifetime.com/activate will work (Lifetime authentication FAQ).

U.S.-only access
Lifetime says its website and apps are currently accessible only within the United States. A provider that carries Lifetime in another country may therefore be unavailable in the Lifetime activation flow.
Activation is different from registration

Entering a registration code on the activation page, or an activation code on the registration page, can produce an invalid-code message (Lifetime’s invalid-code guidance).

Fix common activation problems
“Invalid activation code”
- Back out of the activation screen and reopen a locked video to generate a fresh code.
- Enter it at /activate, not /register.
- Check every character and confirm you selected the correct device and provider.
- Restart or update the app and streaming device, then try the new code.
Codes can expire or be tied to a different device workflow.
Your provider is missing
- Confirm you are physically in the United States.
- Search the provider list again and select the exact company.
- Verify that your package includes the Lifetime channel, not merely internet service.
- Try starting from a locked video in the app rather than relying only on the landing page.
- Ask the provider whether your service is authorized for Lifetime app access, or contact Lifetime support.
Participating partners and authentication arrangements can change.
Provider sign-in fails
- Use the credentials for provider account management or billing, not a Lifetime profile password.
- Confirm the subscription is active and includes Lifetime.
- Use the provider’s password-recovery page if necessary.
- Try a current browser and temporarily disable extensions or private-network tools that interfere with sign-in.
- Return to Lifetime after the provider confirms authentication.
Activation succeeds but videos remain locked
- Close Lifetime completely.
- Restart the streaming device.
- Reopen the app and test another locked title.
- Sign out and repeat provider authentication.
- Confirm you used the account attached to the eligible TV package.
- Determine whether the problem affects one title, one device or every title.
- Contact Lifetime support if all locked content remains unavailable.
If you do not have an eligible TV package
Lifetime says there is no general direct subscription for full website and app access. Your practical choices depend on whether you need app authentication, the live channel or movies only.

Frndly describes Lifetime live and on-demand viewing and says programs can be watched for 72 hours after initial airing (Frndly Lifetime programming). Its Movie Club add-on is separate from the standalone Movie Club app (Frndly Movie Club help). Philo plan details are at its official packages page.
The Bottom Line
Use mylifetime.com/activate only when the Lifetime app gives you an activation code and you have a participating U.S. TV package that includes Lifetime. Unlocked videos need no sign-in; Sling programming and Lifetime Movie Club follow different access rules.
