Tiffany Stratton won the WWE Women’s Championship on the Jan. 3, 2025 episode of SmackDown, cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax moments after Jax had retained against Naomi. Stratton pinned Jax with her Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
How Tiffany Stratton’s cash-in unfolded
Jax had just defeated Naomi to retain the title when Stratton entered the aftermath with her Money in the Bank briefcase. The sequence was chaotic rather than a straightforward, uninterrupted challenge: Sports Illustrated reports that Stratton first struck Naomi, while Bianca Belair also hit Jax with a KOD. Jax appeared to have retained before Stratton attacked her with the briefcase and formally told the referee she was cashing in.
Once the cash-in match began, Stratton hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever and pinned Jax to take the championship. WWE’s official video identifies the moment as part of SmackDown on Jan. 3, 2025. Watch WWE’s official video of the cash-in.
What the win meant for Stratton
The championship was Stratton’s first WWE Women’s Championship and, according to Sports Illustrated’s contemporary recap, her first title since joining WWE’s main roster. She had earned the Money in the Bank contract earlier in 2024, giving her the chance to call for a title match at a moment of her choosing.
