Its first episode, “A New Era,” turns a spring-and-summer trip through agency meetups, matchmaking stops and Cannes into a candid road documentary, filmed largely on phones.
Who made the series, and what is it about?
Rachel Segall and Simone Oppenheimer Mandel, cofounders of NBZ, created and appear in the series. NBZ describes it as a documentary about people reshaping ambition, success and creativity in the agency world, alongside the brands choosing to work with them (NBZ’s series page).
The subject is close to NBZ’s work in agency growth and matchmaking: how a brand finds an independent agency for a brief, how agencies compete for that work, and what happens when a match succeeds—or does not. The campaign description presents the series as a look at real searches and relationships, rather than an abstract guide to choosing an agency.
How was it filmed?
The campaign listing says the series was shot largely on phones. It describes a deliberately candid texture built from travel footage, car rides, private voice notes and conversations that happened without a formal setup. That approach suits a story about work unfolding on the road and in the moments around meetings, but the listing does not identify phone models, audio equipment, crew size, budget or filming schedule (Ads of the World campaign listing).

What happens in Episode One, “A New Era”?
The first episode follows a spring and summer on the road. Its route, as described in the campaign listing, takes in an independent-agency meetup in Miami, cross-country “match tour” stops, hotel-room debriefs and Cannes. The travel provides the episode’s structure while the conversations explore the practical and emotional uncertainty of pursuing the right client relationship.

A rotating group of agency founders, marketers and journalists contribute unscripted perspectives. The campaign listing quotes Oliver McAteer of Mischief on the costs of taking on the wrong work: “We’re not bound by growth for the sake of growth,” he says, adding that an agency can lose “from the moment you’ve onboarded the client” if it says yes to the wrong things. The same listing quotes Segall: “If we don’t tell these stories now, we lose the people who make this industry worth rooting for.” Oppenheimer Mandel describes the competitive reality of a search: “even if you are the right solution for a client’s brief, it does not mean you’re gonna win.” These are statements reproduced by the campaign description; it gives no interview dates or fuller transcript context.
