CBN dates their meeting to 1999 and says they met and dated for several weeks before marrying. CBN’s biographical account does not reconcile its date with Biography.com’s account of Michaels noticing Curci on television in June 1998. The most careful reading is that the two sources describe different events: an earlier television sighting and a later reported meeting. Neither provides a detailed, first-person account of their first in-person meeting, first date, or the exact progression of their relationship.
Why Michaels said he was committed to Rebecca

Both CBN and Biography.com describe a courtship of only several weeks before the marriage in 1999. Biography.com identifies the venue as the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas; CBN describes it more generally as a Las Vegas chapel. Biography.com and CBN therefore agree on the short courtship and city, while the more specific venue detail comes from Biography.com.
In a recent TV Insider interview, Michaels praised Rebecca as “the most amazing human being on God’s green earth” and said it was “not difficult in any way, shape, or form to stay married to that woman for 27 years.” These are his retrospective descriptions of their relationship, not independent measures of a marriage. CBN’s account describes Rebecca as supporting Michaels during a period of substance use and says they began attending church together. That is part of CBN’s broader account of his life changes; it should not be reduced to a claim that marriage alone caused his recovery.
