Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance” recorded 1,584,855 global Spotify streams on September 3, 2025, according to the secondary chart-history tracker Kworb. That is a dated Spotify figure, not a verified first-24-hours total across all music platforms.
What was the release-day streaming number?
Kworb’s chart-history entry for September 3, 2025 lists 1,584,855 Spotify streams globally and places the song at No. 96 on Spotify’s global daily chart. The same entry lists 344,571 Spotify streams in the United States, where it ranked No. 126. These are Spotify-specific figures attributed to Kworb, not an official consolidated report from Spotify.
The numbers describe the dated daily chart entry. They should not be recast as an exact rolling 24-hour count: the available source does not define that window.
Is there an official worldwide first-24-hours total?
The sources available do not establish an official first-24-hours total across platforms. Spotify’s release announcement and the other cited reports do not provide a consolidated figure combining Spotify with services such as Apple Music or YouTube. Without a source defining the platforms and measurement window, adding or extrapolating numbers would be misleading.

How did the song perform on the UK chart?
In a report published September 9, 2025, the Official Charts Company said “The Dead Dance” debuted at No. 1 on the UK Official Trending Chart. That is a ranking, not a stream count or a Spotify release-day position.
The Trending Chart covers the first four sales days of a chart week, Friday through Monday, and ranks tracks showing week-on-week growth, with a maximum of two tracks per artist. It measures a different period and uses a different method from Kworb’s September 3 Spotify daily entry. The separate UK audio streaming chart is based on streams over a seven-day period, so its results are not directly interchangeable with daily platform figures.

Why did the release coincide with Wednesday?
“The Dead Dance” arrived on September 3, 2025, alongside the launch of Wednesday Season 2 Part 2. Spotify said the show’s official playlist was refreshed to include the song and reported that Gaga appeared in Part 2 as Rosaline Rotwood. Gaga told Spotify, “I’m thrilled to release this song alongside Wednesday.”
Netflix’s Tudum coverage says Gaga previewed the song at the August 28 Graveyard Gala, which drew 300 fans, influencers and members of the press. Netflix later described “The Dead Dance” as written and recorded specifically for the series. Universal Music Canada reported that the music video also came out on September 3, was directed by Tim Burton and was filmed at Isla de las Muñecas in Mexico; those production details are label-reported.

How to read the early numbers
- Platform: The 1,584,855 figure is for Spotify, not every streaming service.
- Time window: It is a September 3 dated chart-history entry, not a verified rolling first 24 hours.
- Geography: The global and US figures refer to separate listings; do not add them together.
- Metric: The UK No. 1 result is a chart rank, not a stream total.
- Source: Kworb is a secondary tracker; the UK ranking comes from the Official Charts Company.
