Actor Michelle Williams has four children: Matilda, her daughter with the late Heath Ledger, and three children with her husband, director Thomas Kail. Williams confirmed the arrival of her youngest child, a daughter born via surrogate, in 2025.

Three children with Thomas Kail
Williams and Kail’s first child together, Hart, was born in June 2020. They welcomed a second child in November 2022; the Los Angeles Times reported both birth dates in April 2025. [Los Angeles Times, April 2025]
Williams later confirmed the arrival of a third child with Kail, a daughter born via surrogate. On Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August 2025, she thanked the surrogate, Christine, and said, “Thanks to Christine, I have three under 5 at home.” The remark referred to her three younger children; Matilda is the eldest. What is publicly known about the children?
Public reporting identifies Hart by name and gives the birth months and years of Williams’s younger children. It did not disclose the name or sex of the child born in 2022, or the youngest child’s name. Williams described the youngest as a girl in her 2025 comments. The available details therefore support a count of four without identifying every child by name.
