Hulu + Live TV allows two simultaneous streams on its standard plan. With the Unlimited Screens add-on, you can stream on unlimited screens at home and up to three screens on the go. These are active-stream limits—not a cap on how many devices you can use with your account.
Hulu + Live TV’s standard stream limit
On the base plan, up to two supported devices can stream Hulu + Live TV at the same time. For example, two people can watch different programs on two TVs; a third person trying to start another Hulu stream may need to wait until one of those sessions ends.
The limit is about simultaneous viewing, not simply how many devices have been used or signed in. Hulu’s Live TV page describes the allowance in terms of screens at a time. The Hulu streaming library is also listed as available on two screens at once, so do not assume that switching one viewer from live TV to on-demand Hulu creates a third unrestricted stream. What Unlimited Screens changes
Hulu’s Unlimited Screens add-on increases the allowance to unlimited screens at home and three screens on the go. “Unlimited” does not mean unlimited streams from separate homes: Hulu distinguishes home viewing from away-from-home viewing, and its Live TV service uses a designated home location. Premium-network restrictions can also remain in effect.

Hulu’s public plan page does not provide a current price for Unlimited Screens in the published information available here. Check the add-on price in your Hulu plan-selection or account flow before subscribing; do not rely on an old price quoted elsewhere.
What counts as “at home”?
For Live TV, “home” means the household location Hulu recognizes for the subscription, not simply wherever the account holder happens to be. Multiple devices connected to the household’s home internet are the clearest example of at-home viewing. A phone, tablet, or TV using another network while traveling may be treated as an out-of-home stream and may encounter location prompts or other Live TV restrictions.

Changing providers, routers, or the household’s primary network can cause home-location issues separate from the stream count. Hulu maintains support topics for streams and home-network use. VPNs or location-spoofing setups can also interfere with location-sensitive Live TV playback.

Do profiles or bundled apps add more Hulu streams?
No published Hulu rule says that each profile gets its own stream allowance. Profiles personalize watch history and recommendations; they do not turn a two-screen account into multiple independent two-screen subscriptions.

Hulu + Live TV bundles access to Disney+ and ESPN experiences, but those services use separate apps and can have separate playback rules. Hulu lists Disney+ as supporting up to four devices at once on its ad-supported bundle presentation; that is Disney+’s allowance, not an extra four Hulu streams. Likewise, do not add Disney+ or ESPN viewing to Hulu’s two-screen total—or assume those apps share it. Check the rules for the app and content you are actually watching.
Can you watch Hulu + Live TV on multiple TVs?
Yes. Hulu supports a broad range of devices, including computers through Hulu.com, iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, select smart TVs, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. Exact model and app support can change, so check Hulu’s supported-device information.

Having Hulu installed on several TVs does not increase the number of simultaneous streams. With the base plan, only two Hulu streams can play at once; Unlimited Screens is the relevant upgrade for more concurrent at-home viewing.

Premium add-ons can have their own limits
Unlimited Screens does not necessarily override the viewing restrictions for premium networks. Hulu warns that premium-network restrictions apply. For instance, Hulu’s HBO Max add-on information says HBO Max content watched through the Hulu app can remain limited to two simultaneous screens, even for a Live TV subscriber with Unlimited Screens. Rules can differ by add-on, so check the terms for the specific network.

What to do if Hulu says too many streams are active
A new stream may fail to start or prompt you to stop another stream when the account has reached its allowance. Try these steps:
- Ask household members to stop playback on unused TVs, phones, tablets, streaming boxes, and computers.
- Exit playback and close the Hulu app or browser tab; a paused or abandoned session may not free a slot immediately.
- Sign out of Hulu on devices that may still be streaming, then restart the app or browser on the device that cannot play.
- If the session still appears stuck, restart the streaming device.
- Check whether the other viewers are using Hulu, rather than Disney+ or ESPN, and confirm whether the account has Unlimited Screens.
- If the problem continues, use Hulu’s account and billing support for plan and home-location help.
Do not assume every playback failure is a stream-limit error. Weak Wi-Fi or insufficient broadband can cause buffering; location rules, channel blackouts, device compatibility, or content-specific restrictions can prevent playback even when fewer than two Hulu streams are active.
Does recording use a stream?
Recording a program with Hulu’s Unlimited DVR is not the same as actively watching a stream. Hulu says Live TV subscribers can record multiple shows at once and keep recordings for up to nine months. The published information does not say that recording consumes one of the two live-viewing slots.

The base plan is likely enough if your household rarely watches Hulu on more than two screens at once. Consider Unlimited Screens if three or more people regularly watch Hulu + Live TV simultaneously at home—for example, during sports, when children are watching different programs, or when several TVs are in use.
The add-on may not solve the problem if you need more Disney+ or ESPN viewing, if a premium network is enforcing its own cap, or if the people watching live in separate households. It also will not fix poor Wi-Fi, a broadband data cap, an unsupported device, or a home-location problem. Hulu’s current Live TV terms and feature details are at hulu.com/live-tv.
