You can generally sign in to YouTube TV on more than three devices, but the standard plan allows only three devices to stream at the same time across the entire membership. That limit applies to the family group—not separately to each person. With the 4K Plus add-on, YouTube TV allows unlimited simultaneous streams on the designated home Wi-Fi network and three streams outside it.
How many devices can watch YouTube TV at once?
The standard YouTube TV plan supports up to three simultaneous streams. This is a limit on active playback, not a published limit of three installed apps or three remembered sign-ins.
For example, one person could watch on a living-room television, another on a tablet, and a third on a phone. If a fourth device tries to play YouTube TV at the same time, it may be blocked with a streaming-limit message or ask someone to stop watching.
Having the app open—or remaining signed in on a device that is not playing video—is not necessarily the same as using one of the three streams. YouTube TV’s official guidance focuses on simultaneous streaming rather than specifying a maximum number of logged-in devices. See the YouTube TV simultaneous-stream guidance.

Is the three-stream limit per person?
No. The allowance is shared across the entire YouTube TV membership.
YouTube TV family groups can include up to six Google accounts: one family manager and up to five family members. Separate accounts provide individual profiles, recommendations, libraries, and DVR organization, but they do not give each person three streams. Six accounts still share the same standard three-stream allowance.
Family members generally must have Google Accounts, meet the applicable age requirement, live in the same household as the family manager, and use the service primarily within the household’s home area. YouTube TV describes these requirements in its family-group rules.
Does YouTube TV limit the number of logged-in devices?
YouTube TV does not publish a clear maximum number of devices that may have the app installed or an account signed in in the official pages referenced here. Therefore, it is not accurate to promise unlimited sign-ins—but it is also misleading to say that only three devices can be logged in.

What does 4K Plus change?
4K Plus changes the simultaneous-stream rules in an important but limited way:
- At home: Unlimited simultaneous streams on the designated home Wi-Fi network.
- Outside the home network: Three simultaneous streams.
- Additional features: Selected programming in 4K and offline viewing of eligible DVR recordings on mobile devices.
“Unlimited” does not mean unlimited everywhere. The home-stream benefit depends on the devices being connected to the designated home network, and 4K playback is available only for selected content on compatible hardware and through a supported YouTube TV app.
4K Plus is therefore useful for a household in which four or more people regularly watch different programs at home. It is not a way to turn one household membership into a permanent subscription for relatives or friends who live elsewhere.

Is NFL Sunday Ticket the same as 4K Plus?
No. YouTube TV distinguishes between the two benefits. NFL Sunday Ticket can provide unlimited in-home streams for NFL Sunday Ticket programming. That does not automatically provide unlimited in-home streams for regular YouTube TV plan content; YouTube TV says 4K Plus is required for that broader benefit. See the official home-network and streaming-limit guidance.
How to set your YouTube TV home network
The family manager can designate the household’s current Wi-Fi network as the home network. YouTube TV’s published path is:
- Open YouTube TV on a TV device, mobile device, or computer.
- Select your profile picture.
- Open Settings.
- Select Streaming limits.
- Choose Set current network as home.
- Confirm that the account displays Connected to your home network.
The home network can be changed up to three times within a 30-day period. On a family plan, only the family manager can set it. If 4K Plus streams are not being recognized as in-home streams, check this screen and confirm the network indicator. You can also follow YouTube TV’s official home-network instructions.
Can you use YouTube TV while traveling?
YouTube TV supports domestic travel within the United States, but the available local programming can change according to your current location. A traveler may see local networks for the area they are visiting rather than the local stations available at home.

International viewing is not supported. Frequent travelers should use YouTube TV in their home area at least once every three months. MLB-related access may require a home-area check-in at least once every 30 days. These rules are separate from the simultaneous-stream limit and are not a workaround for sharing one subscription between separate permanent households.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can multiple TVs in one house use YouTube TV?
Yes. The number of televisions in the home is not the same as the number of simultaneous streams.
A household can use YouTube TV on four or more TVs, phones, tablets, or computers. On the standard plan, however, only three devices can actively play content at once. With 4K Plus, simultaneous streaming is unlimited while supported devices are connected to the designated home Wi-Fi network.

Why does YouTube TV say the streaming limit has been reached?
If you see a stream-limit message despite believing that fewer than three devices are watching, work through this checklist:
- Stop playback on unused TVs, phones, tablets, and computers.
- Ask other family members whether they are watching, including on a device that was left playing in the background.
- Confirm the Google Account being used on each device. Someone may be signed in with the wrong account or with credentials shared outside the family group.
- Review account sharing and sign out devices that are no longer used. Signing out everything is not always necessary, because the issue may be active playback or a stale session.
- If you have 4K Plus, check the home network. The device must be connected to the designated home Wi-Fi network to receive unlimited in-home streaming.
- Restart the YouTube TV app or device after stopping playback and checking the account.
- Contact YouTube TV support if the limit appears even though fewer than three streams are active.
On affected devices, open Settings → Streaming limits and verify the home-network status. If unlimited home streaming is not working, the problem may be that the family manager has not set the network, the device is using another connection, the viewer is traveling, or the app or platform is unsupported.
Is 4K Plus worth it just for more devices?
| Situation | Best interpretation |
|---|---|
| Up to three people watch at once | The standard plan is usually sufficient. |
| Four or more people regularly watch at home | 4K Plus may be useful for unlimited in-home streams. |
| More than three viewers live in different homes | 4K Plus is not a substitute for separate memberships. |
| You only want more remembered sign-ins | There is no published need to buy 4K Plus for that purpose. |
| You want selected 4K programming or offline DVR downloads | 4K Plus may add value beyond its stream allowance. |
4K Plus may be a poor fit if the fourth viewer is only occasional, most viewing happens away from the home network, compatible 4K equipment is not available, or the goal is to share permanently with people in other households. YouTube TV says current 4K Plus pricing varies and should be checked in Settings → Membership; do not rely on an old quoted price.
The answer in one sentence
You can generally log in on more than three devices, but the standard YouTube TV plan permits only three simultaneous streams across the whole membership; 4K Plus raises that to unlimited streams at home and three outside the designated home Wi-Fi network.
YouTube TV is a U.S. service, and its family-group and location rules apply accordingly. See the official availability information for geographic details.
