Lo Invisible follows fishermen in northern Mexico who form a community theater collective and play themselves. A production announcement says cinematographers Medardo Treviño and his brother Jorge Luis Treviño filmed the documentary with a Blackmagic PYXIS 6K, recording in Blackmagic RAW and using DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, color grading and sound work. The account describes the filmmakers’ workflow; it is not an independent camera test.
What is Lo Invisible about?
The documentary follows fishermen in northern Mexico as they form a community theater collective and perform as themselves. The production announcement connects the film’s origins to Medardo Treviño’s experience living with the fishermen and observing how representation, memory and imagination shape their view of themselves and their community.
Treviño described the film’s purpose this way: “The documentary seeks to capture how art opens spaces of sensitivity, dignity, and belonging within everyday life.” The announcement does not name the fishing community.
What camera and workflow did the production use?
The production announcement identifies the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K as the camera used by directors of photography Medardo Treviño and Jorge Luis Treviño. They recorded in Blackmagic RAW and used DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, grading and sound work. The listed setup also included DZO lenses, a NiSi Cinema matte box and the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor. Exact lens models and a complete equipment list are not provided.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The announcement says the camera went inside small boats and accompanied fishermen on foot. Those are the filmmakers’ reported production experiences, not independently verified performance findings. The announcement was reproduced by Creative COW on July 21, 2026.
How did the camera handle the fishing sequence?
Treviño described a crab-fishing sequence that followed fishermen from about 4 a.m. until around 3 p.m., spanning pre-dawn darkness, changing reflections and harsh midday sun. He said the Blackmagic RAW footage gave the team latitude to recover detail across those conditions, then create the film’s final black-and-white treatment in DaVinci Resolve Studio. This is his account of the production, not a controlled comparison or independent assessment of image quality.

Treviño also said the visual intention was “to isolate the faces from the landscape and completely avoid the tourist postcard feel that often appears when portraying territories in Northern Mexico or communities linked to water.” That describes the filmmakers’ stated aim, rather than an independently assessed result.
