Kaley Cuoco has described her one season on Charmed as an intense, difficult experience of joining a cast that already felt like a family. She was nervous when she entered the Season 8 publicity shoot at 21, remembered Alyssa Milano welcoming her warmly, and said she still does not know whether Rose McGowan liked her. Cuoco later said the experience shaped how she tried to welcome newcomers on other sets.
Joining Charmed in its final season
Cuoco joined Charmed for Season 8 as Billie Jenkins, a new witch taken in and taught by the established characters. In a 2005 report, she said she had never watched an episode before being cast. Years later, she recalled arriving without having met the principal cast and stepping into a group with a long history together.
In February 2026, on Armchair Expert, Dax Shepard asked whether walking onto Season 8 had been “dicey.” Cuoco described a publicity photo shoot as the moment the cast’s close-knit dynamic became especially apparent: she was joining what felt to her like a “family photo” with Milano, McGowan and Holly Marie Combs.
What Cuoco remembers about the cast’s welcome
Alyssa Milano made a point of greeting her
Cuoco said she was 21 and “terrified” at the shoot. She remembered Milano getting up from her lunch break to welcome her and give her a hug. Cuoco said of that gesture, “I will never forget that.”

Her impression of Rose McGowan was uncertain
Cuoco recalled McGowan as seeming “maybe not as happy,” but immediately qualified the impression: “I don’t know. I still don’t know if she likes me.” That is Cuoco describing how the interaction felt to her; it does not establish McGowan’s intentions or prove that the two had a feud. The account comes from a third-party transcript of the podcast conversation, while the official episode page identifies the interview.
Cuoco’s broader assessment of the experience
In a separate 2026 interview with The Independent, Cuoco described her time on the set as “intense and difficult.” She said some people were wonderful to her and some were not, and that feeling like an outsider among a group that had worked together for years was hard. This broader recollection adds context to the photo-shoot story without turning one uncertain impression into a claim about the whole cast.

What she says she carried to later sets
Cuoco connected the experience of being a newcomer on Charmed to how she approached new arrivals on The Big Bang Theory. Remembering Milano’s welcome, she tried to help newcomers feel included. Her account is less a verdict on every working relationship than a reflection on how being welcomed—or left outside an established group—can stay with someone.
