What Tom Cruise said about his contact with Suri
In a 2013 court filing, Cruise rejected the claim that he had abandoned Suri after his divorce. As quoted by the Los Angeles Times, he said: “The assertion that I ‘abandoned’ Suri after my divorce is patently false. I have in no way cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.”

Cruise also said that at the time he and Suri “spoke on the phone nearly every day,” and that he “regularly asked for and received updates concerning her friends and school life.” These are his descriptions of their contact in 2013. They are not independent confirmation of the details, nor evidence of what their relationship is like now.
What Suri’s 2024 graduation name does—and does not—show
At her June 2024 graduation from LaGuardia High School in New York City, Suri used the name “Suri Noelle,” the Los Angeles Times reported. The paper said she had also used that name in a school production earlier that year and noted that Noelle is her mother Katie Holmes’s middle name. Those facts document the name use; they do not establish why she used it or what it means to her relationship with her father.

What public appearances can tell us about their relationship
The Los Angeles Times reported that Cruise did not attend the graduation and was in London filming Mission: Impossible 8; it also reported that he attended a Taylor Swift concert that weekend. One absence, even alongside another reported appearance, does not establish the overall state of a parent-child relationship.
In June 2025, Vanity Fair reported that Suri had completed her first year at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and had not been seen publicly with her father in years. Not being seen together publicly is not proof that there has been no private contact. Public visibility cannot answer that question.

What Cruise’s Father’s Day answer reveals
Asked at a red-carpet event in May 2025 about his ideal Father’s Day, Cruise replied, “Just having fun, man,” before turning to movie talk, according to The Indian Express. The brief response does not identify Suri or independently establish Cruise’s feelings about her.

The same 2025 Vanity Fair report said Holmes publicly disputed a Daily Mail story claiming a trust fund had made Suri a millionaire, writing: “Completely false. Daily Mail you can stop making stuff up.” The claim should not be repeated as confirmed fact.
