Sign in to the Amazon account you use for streaming, open Your Prime Membership, and note the status, plan and renewal or end date. Then check Prime Video Channels separately. Prime Video access can come from Amazon Prime, a standalone Prime Video membership, an individual channel, a free trial or a third-party biller, so one screen does not show every possibility.
Identify what you are checking
“Amazon Prime Video subscription” can describe several different arrangements:

A title playing is not proof of a paid Prime subscription: it could be free, rented, purchased, ad-supported or available through another household account.
Check your Amazon Prime membership
- Open Amazon in a browser and sign in.
- Select Account & Lists, then Your Prime Membership. Amazon may label this Manage Your Prime Membership or place it in the Prime section of Your Account.
- Read the membership status, plan, payment controls and the displayed renewal date or cancellation end date.
Amazon’s account guidance describes this page as the place to view the plan and ending date (Amazon forum guidance). If it says you are not a Prime member, continue with the Prime Video and channel checks below rather than assuming there is no subscription.

Check a standalone Prime Video membership
- Sign in at Prime Video using the account that watches the service.
- Open Account & Settings.
- Choose the Your Account tab and find Your Membership.
- Read whether the membership is active, in a trial, scheduled to end or unavailable.
Labels vary by country, account configuration and interface version. The settings destination is primevideo.com/settings; Amazon may redirect it after sign-in.
Check Prime Video Channel subscriptions
- Open amazon.com/gp/video/subscriptions/manage and sign in.
- Review Your Channels or Your subscriptions.
- Select a channel to see its status and the renewal or end date.
Channels are add-ons, not the core Prime membership. A channel charge can therefore appear while your Prime membership is active, or after Prime itself has ended. Amazon’s cancellation guidance says channel access normally continues until the displayed end date; cancellation does not automatically refund earlier charges (channel guidance; subscription FAQ).
Understand the date and status you see
Active or “You are a Prime member”
Prime Video is generally supplied through the Prime membership. Use the Prime page’s renewal date, not a separate Prime Video charge, to understand the next billing event.
Free trial
The account is in a promotional period. Record the trial end date and payment method if you do not want it to convert or renew.

“Membership ends on …”
Cancellation has been scheduled. Access can continue through the date shown, rather than stopping when you press cancel.
Paused, restricted or payment problem
A failed payment can place a membership on hold until the payment method is corrected. Update billing from the membership page and follow Amazon’s account prompts; related billing documentation describes this resume-after-payment process (Amazon billing information).
No date or missing membership
This often means you are in the wrong account, the subscription is billed elsewhere, or the page has not loaded the account details.
If the subscription does not appear
- Sign out, then test every Amazon email address or mobile number used in your household.
- Confirm the Amazon marketplace and country are correct.
- Check whether the television or streaming device is signed into a different Amazon account or an adult household member’s account.
- Search email for “Prime,” “Prime Video,” “channel” and “subscription.”
- Match the bank statement’s merchant descriptor, amount and date with Amazon order and payment history.
- Check Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions when signup occurred on a phone. The company that billed you generally controls cancellation.
- Check a mobile, internet, cable or other partner bundle; that partner may own the billing relationship.
Use a browser rather than relying only on a smart-TV or mobile app, which may expose fewer account controls.

Cancel the correct service
Prime membership
Use Prime Central and choose the membership-management or end-membership control. This affects Prime benefits, including bundled Prime Video access.
Standalone Prime Video
Use Prime Video Account & Settings → Your Account → Your Membership and follow the displayed cancellation control.
One channel
Open the channel manager, select the channel, choose Cancel Channel (or the current equivalent), and confirm. Do not end all of Prime merely to remove one add-on.
Amazon says tied add-on subscriptions do not renew once the Prime membership ends, but separate channel terms and billing arrangements can differ. Verify each channel’s status and save the confirmation date. Do not assume cancellation creates a refund.

When to contact Amazon
Contact Amazon through its customer-service routes when a charge is unauthorized, two subscriptions appear for one service, you cannot access the account that was billed, or the displayed status conflicts with your payment record. Provide the charge date, amount and last four digits only—never a full card number. Secure the account, change its password and review devices and payment methods if you do not recognize the charge.
For context, Amazon’s U.S. customer-service page currently lists Prime at $14.99 per month or $139 per year and says eligible customers may receive a 30-day trial. Prices, trials, plans and labels vary by country and can change.

Can I cancel a Prime Video Channel without canceling Prime?

Does cancellation stop Prime Video immediately?
Usually the account remains usable until the end date shown after cancellation. The exact date on your account controls.
What if Apple or Google billed me?
Manage the subscription in the billing provider’s subscription settings. Confirm the provider from your receipt or bank statement before canceling.
Why does Prime Video work when no subscription appears?
You may be using another household account, watching free or purchased content, receiving a bundle benefit, or viewing a stale app session. Check each Amazon login and the original billing provider.
The Bottom Line
