Two High School DxD books were released in Japan on October 18, 2025: High School DxD DX.8: Tokkyū Akuma no Oshigoto and Junior High School DxD 3: Ongakusai no Asgard. The update was about light novels—not confirmation of a new anime season.
Which High School DxD books came out?
Kadokawa’s catalog lists both books with an October 18, 2025 publication date. One is the eighth volume in the High School DxD DX short-story collection line; the other is the third volume of the Junior High School DxD spinoff. CBR described the news as ending a three-year wait for the DX line, a framing that applies to that collection rather than to every part of the franchise. CBR’s September 6, 2025 report covered the announcement; Kadokawa’s series catalog lists the two releases.
What is included in High School DxD DX.8?
Kadokawa lists the Japanese title as ハイスクールＤ×Ｄ ＤＸ．8 特級アクマのおしごと. Ichiei Ishibumi wrote the book, with illustrations by Miyama-Zero. The publisher describes Issei as a promoted Super-Class Devil taking on a request with Ravel, alongside stories featuring Rias and other familiar characters.
The publisher’s listing identifies this edition as a 292-page paperback in the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko line. Its ISBN is 9784040758954. These details refer specifically to Kadokawa’s Japanese-language edition, so check the language and format before buying. Kadokawa’s DX.8 product page provides the edition details. Its stock status can change over time.

How does Junior High School DxD 3 differ?
Junior High School DxD 3: Ongakusai no Asgard is the companion release listed for the same date. It belongs to the Junior High School DxD spinoff, rather than the DX short-story collection. Kadokawa’s catalog confirms its title and publication date, but the available listing does not establish comparable format, page-count, ISBN, or creative-credit details. Kadokawa’s catalog entry is the source for the companion volume’s listing.

No. The update confirms book releases, not a fifth anime season or an anime release date. Kadokawa identifies the franchise’s anime branch separately as High School DxD HERO on its franchise page. The two October 2025 book listings do not establish any new anime production announcement.
