Cancel ESPN through the company that bills you. If ESPN charges you directly, use ESPN.com; if the charge comes from Disney+, Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, Hulu, or a TV/mobile provider, cancellation must usually be handled through that company.
- Sign in to ESPN in a computer or mobile browser.
- Open your profile picture and choose Account under Manage My Account.
- Select Manage Subscription, choose the plan under Plans & Billing, then select Cancel and confirm.
This guide covers U.S. subscriptions and policies checked through August 18, 2026. Names, menus, prices, and partner arrangements can change.
First, find out who bills you
“ESPN subscription” can now refer to several different arrangements. ESPN’s current direct plans are ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited, although many customers still use the older term “ESPN+.” You might also have ESPN through a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle, an app store, Roku, Amazon, a cable or satellite company, a live-TV service, or a mobile provider.

- ESPN: Open Manage Subscription and look under Plans & Billing.
- Email: Search for your original receipt, renewal notice, or terms such as “ESPN,” “Disney,” “subscription,” and “renewal.”
- Bank or card statement: Treat the merchant name as a clue, not absolute proof, since billing descriptions vary.
- Platform accounts: Check Apple Subscriptions, Google Play subscriptions, Roku subscriptions, Amazon subscription settings, and your Disney+ or Hulu account.
- Provider account: Review your cable, satellite, internet, mobile, or live-TV package for ESPN as an included benefit or add-on.

How to cancel a subscription billed directly by ESPN
Use a web browser rather than relying on the ESPN television or mobile app. ESPN’s current instructions are:

- Open ESPN in a computer or mobile browser and sign in.
- Select or hover over your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Account under Manage My Account.
- Select Manage Subscription.
- Under Plans & Billing, select the subscription you want to change.
- Choose the plan, select Cancel, and confirm the cancellation.
Menu wording can vary slightly between desktop and mobile browser views. ESPN’s complete instructions are available in its official cancellation guide.
How to cancel through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon
If a third party is the merchant of record, ESPN generally cannot cancel the recurring payment for you. Manage the subscription through the platform that charged you.
Apple
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Select ESPN or the relevant Disney subscription and choose the cancellation option. Apple’s labels can vary by operating-system version.

Google Play
Open Google Play, go to your subscriptions, select ESPN or the relevant Disney subscription, and follow the cancellation prompts. Make sure you are using the Google account that received the charge.
Roku
For a subscription billed and managed by Roku, use my.roku.com/subscriptions or Roku’s subscription-management tools. Roku says turning off auto-renew prevents future charges. A subscription billed directly by ESPN must instead be canceled through ESPN.

Amazon
Check Amazon’s app-store or subscription settings if Amazon appears on the receipt or statement. Use the Amazon account associated with the purchase; signing in to ESPN with the same email does not necessarily give ESPN control over the billing.

How to cancel ESPN in a Disney+ bundle
If Disney is billing you for a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle, manage the bundle through Disney+ account settings, not the ESPN account.
Canceling the bundle can remove its Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN benefits. If you want to keep Disney+ or Hulu, look for a plan change or downgrade instead of canceling the entire bundle. Changing plans may also end a promotion, discount, or price hold.
Bundle prices and terms are offer-specific. For example, pages checked in August 2026 displayed different prices, including offers starting at $35.99 per month on ESPN’s storefront and a separate $44.99-per-month Disney+ listing. One Disney offer described a six-month initial term. These figures do not apply universally; rely on the price, promotion, and term shown in your own account. If Verizon, Hulu, or another partner bills you for the bundle, that partner’s cancellation process controls.
How to cancel ESPN included with a TV, mobile, or live-TV provider
ESPN access may be an entitlement included with an existing package rather than a separate ESPN subscription. Supported arrangements can include Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV, Fubo, Comcast Xfinity, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse, Cox, and other providers.
In that situation, changing or canceling the qualifying provider package may remove ESPN access. But do not cancel the entire package automatically. Ask whether ESPN is:
- included at no extra charge;
- an optional add-on that can be removed;
- part of a package discount or promotional term; or
- subject to a contract, equipment fee, or minimum commitment.

For a direct ESPN Select or Unlimited plan, cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You can normally continue using the paid service until that date, and future recurring charges should stop. ESPN’s stated policy does not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. Canceling also does not delete your ESPN account.

Free trials can work differently. ESPN says that removing ESPN Unlimited during the one-month free-trial offer can prevent the paid charge, but access may end immediately. Trial rules depend on the specific promotion and billing partner.
After canceling:
- Save the confirmation screen and any confirmation email.
- Return to the account page and look for a canceled status or expiration date rather than a future renewal date.
- Record the date your access ends.
- Check the next expected statement to confirm that no renewal charge appeared.
Can you keep MLB.TV without ESPN?
Yes, ESPN says ESPN Unlimited can be removed while MLB.TV is retained separately. During cancellation, read each option carefully and choose whether you are canceling:
- ESPN only;
- MLB.TV only; or
- both services.
Removing ESPN Unlimited does not automatically cancel MLB.TV unless you select the option to cancel both. This separation may not apply identically to every bundle or promotion, so review the confirmation screen. See ESPN’s MLB.TV cancellation FAQ.
Should you cancel or downgrade?
If your goal is to stop all recurring sports charges, cancel the subscription and verify the end date. If you only want a lower bill, a plan change may be better. ESPN listed the following direct-plan prices when checked on August 18, 2026: ESPN Select at $12.99 monthly or $129.99 annually, and ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 monthly or $299.99 annually. Prices can change and do not establish the price of bundles or third-party plans.

According to ESPN’s plan-switching guidance, moving from Select to Unlimited takes effect immediately and may involve a prorated charge; moving from Unlimited to Select takes effect on the next billing date. After an annual plan has been charged, immediate switching to monthly billing for the same plan may not be available. Check ESPN’s plan-switching guidance before confirming a change.
No cancel button? Try this
- Sign out and sign back in with the email used for the charge. A family member may have used a different account.
- Try ESPN.com in a desktop or mobile browser, not the TV app.
- Check Disney+, Hulu, Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, and your TV or mobile provider.
- Search for the original receipt or renewal email.
- Compare the merchant name on your bank or card statement.
- Confirm the subscription was not already canceled and now shows an expiration date.
- Contact ESPN if ESPN is the biller; contact the third party if it is the biller.
- Keep screenshots, confirmation numbers, and support-chat transcripts.
