What changed for existing subscribers on September 26, 2025?
According to HBO Max, the September 26, 2025 adjustment applied to all subscribers for every 12-month plan and for monthly Standard. Monthly Básico com anúncios and monthly Platinum remained at their previous prices.

There is no universal legacy-price table for every existing account. A promotion, billing period or third-party provider can produce a different charge.

Standard
- Two simultaneous streams.
- Full HD, up to 1080p.
- Up to 30 downloads for offline viewing.
Platinum
- Four simultaneous streams.
- 4K UHD on supported titles.
- Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR10 on supported titles.
- Up to 100 downloads.
All plans generally use the same catalog. Resolution, downloads, stream limits and selected audio/video formats differ. Not every title supports 4K or Dolby formats, and live content on Standard and Platinum may contain advertising.
New, returning and existing customers
New subscribers
During signup, choose the plan and monthly or annual billing, add a payment method and complete the purchase. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Before paying, check the billing frequency, any introductory promotion, the price after the promotion, the renewal date and price, and the company that will charge you. Returning subscribers
Reactivating an old account does not guarantee an old promotional or legacy rate. The amount shown at reactivation and the next renewal depends on the plan, billing route and any offer attached to the account.

Existing subscribers
Do not rely on an old article, email or screenshot. The September 2025 changes described above applied to affected plans across the existing subscriber base, while partner-billed accounts follow the partner’s terms.
How to check your actual price and billing company
- Open HBO Max.
- On a phone, tablet or computer, select your profile and then Assinatura.
- On a television, open Configurações and select Assinatura.
- Read the current plan, billing period, renewal date and displayed price.
- Note the billing company shown on that page.
- If a partner is listed, verify the amount in that partner’s account or support service.
Possible billing companies include WarnerMedia Direct Latin America, Apple, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Roku, Samsung TV, Prime Video Channels and internet, mobile or television providers. See HBO Max’s provider guidance at this help page.
Direct billing, bundles and third-party providers
A partner price is not proof of the direct HBO Max price. The product may also include television channels, telecom benefits or membership services.
Prime Video Channels
Amazon Prime members can add HBO Max through Prime Video Channels, with monthly Básico com anúncios or Standard options. If you want to change plans through that route, HBO Max says you must cancel, wait until the subscription expires and subscribe again. Amazon’s channel page is here.

Nubank+ and Nubank Ultravioleta
HBO Max says the monthly Básico com anúncios plan is included with Nubank+ and Nubank Ultravioleta. This is a membership benefit, not a standalone HBO Max price; the sources do not establish the current price of those Nubank memberships.
SKY
SKY advertised a dated offer valid August 1–31, 2026: the first month at 50% off, followed by R$44.90 per month for its HBO + HBO Max package. SKY’s page also states that the displayed subscription is no longer available, so this is not a standing direct-subscription price. See SKY’s offer page.
Vivo
Vivo announced R$44.90 per month from December 1, 2025 for its HBO à-la-carte television package, applying to existing and new customers. It is a pay-TV add-on rather than necessarily the direct streaming product. See Vivo’s notice.

Annual billing is cheaper over a full 12 months, but requires paying the year upfront. Monthly billing can be preferable if you expect to watch for only a short period. Cancelling to pursue a cheaper promotion can end an existing promotion or legacy condition; HBO Max does not establish a universal right to retain a historical rate after cancellation.

Changing plans without an unpleasant surprise
Open Assinatura, identify the billing company and follow that company’s plan-change process. Rules vary by provider. Prime Video Channels specifically requires cancellation and expiration before subscribing again with another plan.
If HBO Max displays “Mudança de plano indisponível”, its guidance says you may need to be in the country where the subscription began. Travelling outside Brazil can therefore block a plan change.
What price should you expect at renewal?
For direct billing, use the current plan and billing period shown in your subscription screen, not an old published price. For partner billing, the partner’s account controls the renewal amount. Promotions may apply only to new or returning customers and may end at the next renewal, so confirm the post-promotion price before accepting an offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cancelling guarantee a lower HBO Max price when I return?
No. Cancellation can end a promotion or legacy condition, and HBO Max does not publish a universal guarantee that a historical price will return.
Are Standard and Platinum completely ad-free?
On-demand plan advertising differs by plan, but HBO Max says live content on Standard and Platinum may contain ads.
Can I use the direct price table if my subscription is through a provider?
No. Check the billing company in Assinatura; provider bundles and promotions can have different prices and terms.
