Disney+ did not announce a new U.S. subscription-price increase in its official June 2025 announcement. Disney’s post, published May 15, 2025, was a programming calendar for movies and series arriving during June. The prices many U.S. customers paid that month came from the preceding pricing cycle, while a separate increase took effect later, on October 21, 2025.
What Disney actually announced for June 2025
Disney+’s official post, “Next on Disney+: June 2025”, was published on May 15 and covered upcoming originals, episodes and library titles, including Phineas and Ferb season 5. It was not a subscription-rate bulletin and does not announce new U.S. prices. Disney also warned that title availability could vary by region.
Accordingly, the available primary-source evidence does not support saying that Disney+ raised its U.S. prices in June 2025. A headline using that wording may have confused the June content slate with a price effective date, an individual billing notice or a later price change.
U.S. prices in effect around June 2025
The following figures describe the U.S. pricing framework inherited from the prior pricing cycle. They are not new June 2025 prices announced by Disney.

Axios reported the preceding U.S. increase as moving Disney+ Premium from $13.99 to $15.99 monthly and the Disney Bundle Duo Basic from $9.99 to $10.99 monthly in the 2024 pricing cycle: Axios. Historical charges can still differ because of promotions, taxes, legacy plans and the way a customer is billed.
Why a June bill might not match those figures
Disney says pricing can vary by plan, country and billing partner in its Help Center. A different amount or date may therefore reflect one of these situations:

- Promotion expiration: A free trial, introductory discount or bundle offer may have ended.
- Annual renewal: A yearly plan can produce a large one-time charge and may renew at the then-current rate.
- Bundle migration: A bundle may have been modified, discontinued or moved to a different plan.
- Regional pricing: U.S. figures do not apply automatically in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, Australia or other markets.
- Taxes and local charges: The amount on a card statement can exceed the advertised base price.
- Legacy or grandfathered terms: Older customers may remain on terms that differ from plans currently offered to new subscribers.
Disney’s June programming post also stated that availability varies by region, another reason a U.S. headline should not be generalized worldwide: Disney+ Press.
The later October 2025 increase was a separate event
Do not backdate the later increase to June. Reporting said that, beginning October 21, 2025, U.S. Disney+ prices changed to:

These were later rates, not June rates. See the contemporary account from Tom’s Guide. Disney’s fiscal reporting also linked increases in domestic Disney+ average monthly revenue per paid subscriber to pricing changes, but that does not establish a new June announcement: The Walt Disney Company’s Q3 FY2025 filing.
How to check what you personally paid
- Sign in to Disney+ and open the account or subscription area.
- Record the plan name, billing provider, renewal date and next scheduled charge. Labels vary by device, country and provider.
- Compare those details with the Disney+ email notice and your bank or card statement.
- If a third party bills you, open that provider’s subscription-management page; its price and cancellation rules may differ from Disney’s direct offer.
- Determine whether the amount reflects a promotion ending, annual renewal, plan migration, taxes or a base-price change.
- Contact Disney+ support or the billing provider if the charge does not match the notice.
Do not cancel through Disney+ before confirming who actually bills the subscription. A distributor may require cancellation in its own account system.

Which Disney+ option fits different households?
Basic with ads
This is generally the lowest-cost standalone choice for occasional viewers who mainly want Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic or family programming and can accept commercial breaks. Check download and device limitations before choosing it.
Premium without ads
Frequent viewers, people who dislike interruptions and subscribers who need offline downloads may prefer Premium. “Without ads” does not guarantee that every stream is free of service promotions, sponsored material, live-programming conditions or sports-related advertising.
Monthly versus annual
Annual billing can lower the effective monthly cost for someone who expects to keep the service most of the year, but it requires an upfront payment, can renew at a higher rate and may not provide a prorated refund after cancellation. Monthly billing is more flexible for viewers subscribing around one series or release.

Standalone versus bundle
A Disney bundle makes sense only when the household would otherwise use the included Hulu or ESPN services. Compare the services you would genuinely purchase, advertising tiers, account management and eligibility rules rather than treating the advertised discount as automatic savings.
Bottom line
There is no reliable basis for describing Disney’s official June 2025 Disney+ announcement as a new-price announcement. It was a June programming update published May 15; U.S. prices around that month were inherited from earlier changes, and the next clearly reported major increase came on October 21, 2025. Your actual charge could still differ because of country, plan, billing partner, promotion, taxes and renewal timing.
